The Head and the Heart in Concert
With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.
The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

This was my 5th time seeing The Head and the Heart and I would see them again in a heartbeat
Amazing performance! Engaging and well done. Such raw talent!
What a performance!….The sound was great. The performers were terrific. All of their hits were sung. There new songs were great as well. Can’t wait to see them again.
Everything was delightful! All of the artists were great. And the venue, The Greek, was a perfect setting.
One of the best shows we’ve seen. Love when it’s clear that band mates love each other and love what they’re doing. Also the best experience we’ve had at the Greek too, parking was easy and no crazy lines for drinks or merch either.
Loved seeing the Head and the Heart! They’re such a wildly talented band and seeing them at an awesome venue like the Greek was pretty magical.
I’ve seen The Head and The Heart at The Greek theatre on one of their previous tours and they continue to amaze fans. DAWES was a perfect opener for them and complimented the band nicely! I’m a huge fan of Dawes now too! The lighting and stage set up was so cool as well. Almost cried 3 times throughout the show because of how great and emotion provoking the music is. I love their energy!
Both bands sounded terrific, the venue is amazing, and The Head and The Heart had Josiah back for part of the show. Unforgettable night
Head and the Heart exceeded all expectations, great show , love them !!
They put on a great show and I would go back again next year!
The Head and the Heart did not disappoint. It started slow and the energy built up with each song until the whole crowd was completely into the show. By the time the final song of the encore started, Rivers and Roads, the atmosphere was electric, the crowd was completely involved, and no one was sitting it out that I could see. There was definitely no topping the encore. The band was super appreciative and at at the end of the set, he sat down on the amps near the crowds at the barricade and continued to thank everyone, sometimes individually. The vocals during the entire set were incredible and the harmonies flawless. I would go again in a heartbeat. The Idaho Botanical Garden (Outlaw Field) is a great concert venue. Entry went smoothly. I do sometimes wish they could halt runners, though. There are food truck vendors, and the food is a bit pricey but very good. I like it there.
Great concert except for Outlaw Field discontinuing serving wine at their events! Bad move! Lots of wine drinkers wear very disappointed!
They sounded great. Had a great time with my daughter and three of my granddaughters 🌸🌸
Great venue - Idaho Botanical Garden - 4th time I’ve seen The Head and The Heart in town and they always are amazing! 💙
They sounded great and played a fun mix of their songs. Great show!
Venue not withstanding (there's a lot about it that I really dislike), the actual concert itself was Amazing, Outstanding, and better than I could have hoped for in every way imaginable. I didn't know a single Dawes song prior to the concert but they blew me away. Their 40-ish minute set was incredibly tight without a second wasted. I could have listened to them just jam for another hour or more. During the intermission, we went out and bought several Dawes t-shirts because, not knowing them beforehand, we'd skipped buying any before the concert. That should tell you all you need to know about how great they were. Then The Head and The Heart came out to play and they were even better. I knew about half the set and my guest didn't know any of their songs. For me, it was easily one of the top 5 concerts I've ever seen. My friend liked it as much as I did despite not knowing their songs. They are one of the few bands I've seen that you don't need to know their music in advance. I could see them again tonight. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you.
The sound was great, the band was on point, the venue excellent.
I love this band and was so excited to see them live, but it lacked heart. Technically the songs played were great, but this concert was all head. I don’t know if it was because it was their second stop on the tour and they were still getting in the groove but there was hardly any energy. I still love them, but it’s disappointing.
Perfect pairing with Dawes opening and the Head & the Heart closing! The energy was infectious, the music incredible and both groups bringing so much energy!! Cannot wait to see this reenacted at Red Rocks next month!
Great overall concert and experience. Dawes was a great opening choice. THATH’s front of house mix was lacking, it seemed like the audio engineer had difficulty capturing vocal clarity and was missing a threshold low enough for compression to capture the falsetto melody work from Jonathan (frontman). So, with the newer songs having a lot of vocal work, it was hard to hear him anytime he went falsetto, and then when he’d snap back into chest voice, it was loud enough for the people next to me to jump-scare. Overall loved the show and would see them 100 more times.
