About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

  • Great music by the lakefront

by Raul73 on 10/4/22Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great! Music was powerful, great show by the opening act and headliners! Venue was clean, drink lines were moving and the merch area was organized. Will definitely add Shakey Graves to my list of future performers to follow. The Head and the Heart are great performers that did not disappoint! Everyone in the pit was into the performance

  • Just as good !

I first saw them at Lolla in 2017…they are better than ever.

  • Awesome sound, VIP lounge was nice

by Gcheezpuff on 10/4/22Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and the Heart were awesome. Love this venue, great skyline views and sound system. Seats are folding chairs and it is pretty tight with and flat with no elevation away from the stage. Thankfully we upgraded to the VIP lounge which is where we ended up watching the show after realizing our actual seats were over crowded. Highly recommend the VIP lounge here and probably the only place I will get seats in the future. Awesome show.

  • Worst venue

by Avid concert attendee on 10/4/22Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

The worst set up for a pavilion I've ever seen. The stage is so low that from the pit/floor area, you can't see the stage over the crowd (and I'm 5'9" so I can't imagine being shorter). The wind whipping off the lake made it even worse.

  • Leading with Heart

The Head and the Heart at Chicago's Northerly Island gave an amazing comeback from COVID performance. Great mix of songs, wonderful playing (highlighted by piano and violin) and amazing vocals. Good opening set by Shakey Graves too.

by Gary on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Shakey Graves opened the show with some rockin’ guitar work and a great backup band. H & H put on another stellar performance for an overall great time.

  • incredible band - even better LIVE!

by B-Rent on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

TH&TH really delivered. It was great as a fan Biggest issue was the lawn crowd NOT being into the band. 'Fake-Fans' go to a bar & shout over each other there. Real fans come to HEAR the band & see a show.

  • Shakey Graves was Phenominal

by LiveMusicLover on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Shakey Graves was incredible. Pit Notes- we started in the pit. Had fantastic sound in the pit, although they needed to turn up the mics and put mics near guitars for head and the heart. Their sound was off…you couldn’t hear details. Lawn Notes- met friends in lawn and couldn’t see the show unless you were along the railing directly in front. Pretty uncomfortable.

  • Great time and great crowd!

by The Dark Knight on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was my third concert this summer. it was great seeing a packed venue and the artists were amazing as well. You could not have asked for a better night! I can't wait until next summer!

  • Pit from Hell

by Bruce on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 1 out of 5

The Head & the Heart were fantastic, as always but we walked out half way through the show. We paid premium prices from third row center seats only to look at the backs of the hundreds of fans standing in the "Pit" in front of us all night. They paid a fraction of the prices of our tickets but saw more of the stage act than we did. Granted my wife and I have bad backs necessitating an occasional sit down to rest. That was impossible because the 2 rows in front of us could never sit down due to the hundreds of fans standing 3' in front of them. The War on Drugs concert there earlier was outstanding because they didn't have the Pit. Much like every other concert we stood most of the night but when an acoustic song was played most people sat down. Love the bands, hate the Pit!

  • Amazing show

by CarrieJ on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! Wow! Wow! What else can I say about an amazing show. The voices of this band just blended perfectly. The melody and lyrics of the music were on point. It was a gorgeous fall night where the stars seemed to align… simply perfection!

  • The Head and the Heart

by CJ on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

This is the second time we have seen them live in Indianapolis and they did not disappoint. Only wish they had played longer. Looking forward to the next time.

  • Excellent show and experience

by Carrie on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I purchased the Fast Lane pass and once again, it was totally worth the small expense. We arrived around 30 minutes before doors opened and landed front row center spots! I can't explain how much I appreciate this option! The show itself was amazing. Shakey Graves put on an excellent performance and The Head and the Heart were their usual spectacular selves.

  • the best night of my life

by Lexi on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and The Heart has been my favorite band for years and seeing them live did not disappoint! Their music is amazing and the way they interact with their fans while on stage makes it feel so personal. I was front row and definitely cried multiple times because I just could not believe I was finally seeing such a talented group live. Shakey Graves opened and I was beyond excited to see him as well and just stood in awe his whole set. He is so talented and it especially shows in his live sets. Every member of THATH and Shakey Graves and his band is beyond talented but also so kind and obviously cares about their fans. It was definitely worth every penny I spent and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

  • Excellent show at an excellent venue!

by Nneeser on 10/3/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and The Heart along with Shakey Graves did not disappoint! Started on time, sound was perfect and they were both engaging and brought great energy to the crowd. TCU Amphitheater is a great smaller venue that feels intimate in a beautiful setting.

  • Amazing

It was much better than Cats, I will see it again and again!

  • Phenomenal

by Bonk on 10/2/22Meadow Brook Amphitheatre - Rochester HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Shakey Graves and The Head & The Heart put on a show I’ll never forget. I’d seen THATH before, but their performance in Detroit was leaps and bounds more energy and enthusiasm. Pure excellence from these 2 artists.

  • Amazing!

Great show and a great venue! My 10 year old daughter’s night was made by a gentleman giving us tickets to the pavilion!
