About

The Head and the Heart in Concert

With an infectious style that combines folk, country, pop, and smart songwriting, Seattle, Washington's The Head and The Heart have earned a reputation as a consummate live act, charming concertgoers with their layered arrangements and intricate vocal harmonies. In 2013, the band released their most confident and mature album to date, Let's Be Still, featuring lead single "Shake," an indie folk stomper that perfectly captures the energy of the band's live performances. After meeting at various open mic nights around Seattle, the band officially formed in 2009, touring the Pacific Northwest before releasing their self-titled 2010 debut album. The buzz of that album attracted the interest of several labels, and the band ultimately signed to Sub Pop Records, who re-released The Head and The Heart LP in April 2011 with additional material including "Down In The Valley, "Lost in My Mind," and "Rivers and Roads." The band toured widely throughout 2010 and 2011 as a supporting act for Dave Matthews, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Decemberists, also headlining their own shows before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. On tour in 2013, the band impressed ticket buyers with their eclectic live concerts, leading audiences through foot-stomping sing-alongs of the indie folk anthems they've become known for.

The Head and the Heart will release their four studio album called Living Mirage on May 17, 2019. They start touring in the summer of 2019 with 39 dates in support of the new album along with the alternative rock band Hippo Campus on select dates.

All three bands were amazing. Even though it was the last show of the tour, they gave it all. I loved when they celebrated their crew as well. I have become an even bigger fan since. Bravo!!

  • Best Show Ever

by Bigchunker on 10/13/25Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Head and the Heart bring it every time they hit the stage. This show was no different. Their music is great and is always a treat to get to hear them play it live. The fact that they really enjoy hanging out with each other, having a great time entertaining the crowd makes their shows really special. We have seen them many times and have always walked away happy. I can't wait for their next tour announcement to see what fun place we can see them play next year. For now, I hope they enjoy some down time and that their creative juices are flowing to bring us more amazing songs.

  • Great music, beautiful venue

by Bea on 10/13/25Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great mix of songs off the new album and the older songs that made fans fall in love with HATH to begin with. Really loved how Matt interacted with the crowd, hopping off the stage and giving high fives to folks. He took an extra moment to give a BIG hug to a boy who might have been a special needs kid. Whoever he was, it looked like it made his night and was very heartwarming to see. The Tennessee Theater is a gorgeous venue and it was wonderful to see such a great show in such a pretty spot.

  • Excellent show!

  • Head & The Heart Still Rocks!

by Moondoggy on 10/5/25Arizona Financial Theatre - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

Good; HATH sounded amazing, super precise and soaring harmonies. venue upgraded our seats and there was a great vibe in the crowd. Not so good: This venue has the worst food selection and poor quality of food of all downtown venues. They can’t even get popcorn or nachos right. The prices for the drinks and food are off the charts, at least provide something that’s edible.
