    An amazing show

by Jamie June on 12/10/19Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

From the first line to the last, this show is amazing, and Kate and Francesca are perfect for the roles in which they were cast. Francesca portrays the agony of Curie with great emotion, and Kate brings a spitfire of a woman to life in Hertha Ayerton. Their friendship is obvious throughout, and the simple sets and intimate theater do even more to draw you in. Sit in the front row if at all possible, as you REALLY feel a part of the show (that is literally happening two feet away from you). This show is full of witty jokes, one liners, and deep conversations that leave you desperate for more than the 80ish minutes you get. Everything about this show is simply wonderful.

Tightly written script by the playwright and perfect acting from both actresses. Could not have asked for more. Outstanding play.

We were tremendously impressed with the The Half Life of Marie Curie and all the more so when we learned that all of the historical facts were true. Both of the actresses gave beautiful performances, and we were moved to laughter and to tears more than once.

    Theatre As It Should Be

by Heygood on 11/22/19Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

This was theatre as it should be; funny, sad, serious and most of all thought provoking. With a backdrop of the Suffragette movement, the friendship of two fiercely intelligent women, Marie Curie and Hertha Ayrton, was told. Relevant in the time of Me Too, the issues were discussed without gender threat. And isn’t that what theatre should be, thought provoking? The tone was set with the juxtaposition of Francesca Faridany’s beaten down rhythms counterpointed by Kate Mulgrew’s rapid fire use of language. Yet, Mulgrew, never missed a pause and Faridany, never dabbled too deeply in the morose, invite the audience on a journey of brilliance, healing and passion. The set, prop and lighting design were deceptively simple, seamlessly transporting the audience from Parisian apartment to English country house. While I thought the end was a bit rushed, it was carried by the power of two very skilled actor’s flawless craft, and never felt like an afterthought. The Half-Life of Marie Curie will make you laugh, cry and think about how things have changed yet remind you of the work still to be done.

    This was a fantastic show!

by FierceFeminist on 11/19/19Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

The theater is smaller and very intimate, the set was excellent and the actors were perfectly cast for their roles. You easily forget that it's a performance and lose yourself in the experience of these two friends. The focus on feminism at the time was lovely, and the emphasis on these women and their brilliance and intellectual curiosity, grit, persistence and accomplishments was timely and a wonderful centering of women in history.

by History Writer on 11/17/19Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

From first to last, I eas moved by this depiction of the friendship of the two women--Marie Curie and Hertha Ayrton. Two brilliant woman--a scientist and an engineer--in those presufferage for woman years, they laugh together, cry together and support each other. Mulgree is brilliant as Ayrton. Fariday is impressive as Curie.
