About

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached no. 1 in Canada and no. 9 in the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who charted fourteen Top 40 singles in the United States and more than thirty in Canada.

The band found their greatest success in the late 60s and early 70s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", and "No Time". With Randy Bachman's exit in 1970, Kurt Winter joined the band and The Guess Who would go on to release the band's top selling album Share the Land. Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.

The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

With Randy's powerful guitar work and Burton's distinct vocals and keyboard mastery, the duo continues to capture the spirit of what made The Guess Who a household name. They are more than just former bandmates -- they are ambassadors of Canadian rock, whose influence can be heard in countless acts that followed in their footsteps. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Guess Who were pioneers who dared to dream beyond their borders--and succeeded on a global stage.

Great memories, excellent sound, nice venue, really good concert!

  • Down to Earth

by Ali on 1/2/24Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

So many concerts these days are about the light shows and latest tech. These guys were so personable and “down to earth” and managed to portray who they really are , fun and entertaining without all the fluff. The little guy who was in charge of instrument changes during the show actually became comical . I loved the smaller venue feel and the comfort yet extravagance the Genesee Theatre brought on. Smiles all around for this young 62 year old long time fan!!!

  • “Ageless Performance”

by MJ on 1/1/24Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

It’s all good when you go to a show with a good perspective and expectation. The Music was spot on and the band’s energy filled the room. GOOD STUFF!!!!

  • As a Younger Fan, I loved it!

by MISSY on 12/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I had front row tickets. The seating in front was weird, but I stood most of the time anyway. I had a lot of fun. I knew most of the songs. My only complaint was that I didn't get to hear my favorite song about Saskatoon. I ended up with a couple guitar picks and the drum stick. This was my second time seeing them. I don't know much about what people are saying about original members, but I enjoyed the entire show. The tickets were very affordable. I loved the theater I was in. The theater staff were all really nice too. I would 100 percent go again if they toured in a nearby state.

Very good, but band drowned out the singers voices.

  • More Music

by DeetheBee on 12/31/23Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 4 out of 5

I am unsure if it was a deal with the venue, but the band were available for only 90 minutes. There could have been more music and less talking. It is nice to hear the stories, but then play longer...

  • Awesome performance

  • An Excellent show and Good time

by Greg on 12/31/23Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

We had second row seats close to the stage. The show was very good although I wish it was a little longer. It was just under an hour and a hal Derek and Michael did a great job along with Gary and Greg and Teddy on the keyboards we saw them a few months ago at the Des Plaines theater, and happy to return to see them again and we will again in the future great old songs, bringing back memories of the 70s and some new songs off of their new album which were very nice

  • The Guess who

by Charlie on 12/31/23Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

The concert is fantastic. These guys love to perform. They are happy to be here and the crowd is too. Just a great night, filled with good music and energy.

  • Saw the originals twice

by JewelsRox on 11/15/23Rating: 1 out of 5

I read there is only ONE original member and they are a RIP off of the original band. I wouldn't spend a dime on a knock off of the original. There are original members SUEING this knock off as I write. No way would I PAY to see a horrible knock off of the original band!!

  • Good Show "Not The Guess Who"

by Fezzywiz on 11/6/23Rating: 4 out of 5

First off I want to give credit to the band for putting on an enjoyable show. They were all talented and the lead singer defintely acknowleged the crowd. I would give it a thumbs up as far as their performance. I want to say though that this is not The Guess Who. I was led to believe that the drummer was an original member but someone else was on the drum kit. I was supposed to see Bachman and Cummings in Rosemont, IL before the pandemic. I could not make the rescheduled show, that would have been The Guess Who with a dose of BTO. I don't think I have ever heard anyone sound like Burton Cummings. I want to say again that the band was good, they made it fun. played a good set list and so out of respect I just want to say that again. Thanks for a fun night of live music fellas.

  • Complertely enjoyed

by LIKE on 11/2/23Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Guess Who gave a number one rock band performance. They are all great musicians, and they can sing. Four of this 5 piece band exclusive of the drummer harmonized together on a new song; actually the harmony of the 4 is as good as Crosby Stills Nash and Young; like"Sweet Judy Blue Eyes". There should have been more people at this venue to hear this performance of a great rock band which continues from the 60s. The concert lasted an hour and a half, whereas I previously was at a Paul McCartney concert at Cincinnati which lasted three hours. I gave this The Guess Who concert a 5 star rating; well deserved.

  • Loud

by Ann on 11/2/23Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Couldn't here the song because the music was too loud.

  • Had a great time. Brought back memories.

by Nuke on 11/1/23Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Loved all their songs. Thought there were more original members than there actually were.

  • Guess Who

by Chandy on 11/1/23Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the venue and easy parking. We go see them once a year ~ traveled 2 1/2 hours this time. Would like a longer performance ♥️

  • Coverband

by Dk on 10/31/23Andiamo Celebrity Showroom - WarrenRating: 2 out of 5

A very rough copy of a very professional band. A total misrepresentation of The Guess Who.

  • Very Disappointed

by Dandarmi on 10/30/23Andiamo Celebrity Showroom - WarrenRating: 2 out of 5

This was about the 6th or 7th time seeing the Guess Who. Though Derek does a great job, we were disappointed that Gary Peterson and Leonard Shaw were not present and nothing was said as to why they were not there. Without any original members, really just a tribute band. The venue, Andiamo's, has gone far to the money grab side with charging for parking (self), jamming people into the banquet hall to the point that people are jammed together very tightly. I show one couple trying to leave just before the show ended and couldn't because other people had spread out for more comfort but then there were no aisles to get through. Food, though good, was expensive and they automatically charge a gratuity without noting the charge on the menu or otherwise. Our waiter actually ended up with less of a tip than what we were going to leave. And even though we ordered drinks, you could not get a glass of water.

  • Pretty much a disappointment for the money

by The Guess Who? on 10/30/23Andiamo Celebrity Showroom - WarrenRating: 1 out of 5

I was expecting and hoping to hear The Guess Who from years past and instead ended up with a group that thought they were rockers - and bad ones at that. The music was so terribly loud (for obvious reasons) to mask the fact that they did not sing well, or in some instances play well. I was so disappointed that my wife and I left before intermission just to get away from the unrecognizable songs they were playing. I will never go back to the Andiamo Showcase in Warren after that excruciating experience. That pretty much sums it up!

  • Late on Stage by 1/2 hour and only performed for an hour!

by Must see Vegas Show.....Very Entertaining on 10/30/23The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

The Showroom was very nice and the seats were comfortable. The Guess Who were an half hour late getting on stage, the music was way to loud for the venue, they acted like they were in a garage somewhere doing a rehearsal. They were only on stage for an hour including the encore. It was absolutely a horrible concert.
