About

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached no. 1 in Canada and no. 9 in the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who charted fourteen Top 40 singles in the United States and more than thirty in Canada.

The band found their greatest success in the late 60s and early 70s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", and "No Time". With Randy Bachman's exit in 1970, Kurt Winter joined the band and The Guess Who would go on to release the band's top selling album Share the Land. Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.

The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

With Randy's powerful guitar work and Burton's distinct vocals and keyboard mastery, the duo continues to capture the spirit of what made The Guess Who a household name. They are more than just former bandmates -- they are ambassadors of Canadian rock, whose influence can be heard in countless acts that followed in their footsteps. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Guess Who were pioneers who dared to dream beyond their borders--and succeeded on a global stage.

  • The Guess WHo was Great

by Anonymous on 3/21/11Twin River Event Center - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

I missed their hockey jerseys when playing out live as they did in the 70's. But the show was really amazing - was like going to a live version of an oldies rock radio station...but even better. They did not miss a note and their new singer is spectacular. I could not think of any way to make this show more fun, sound better, or have a higher quality performance

  • The Guess Who was great!

by skeetdog2911 on 3/21/11Twin River Event Center - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Played the majority of their hits, including American Woman, She's come undone, etc. The venue was small, it was easy to get within 10 feet of the stage, the acoustics were very good. I only wished they had played longer!

  • Guess Who Awesome concert

Awesome concert.. friendly band.. great time.. would go again

  • The Guess Who rocked!

by HTartag on 3/21/11Twin River Event Center - LincolnRating: 4 out of 5

Bought these tickets for my husband who is a big Guess Who fan and ended up enjoying it as much as him. The Guess Who absolutely rocked every minute they were on stage, even had some guitar solos. The lead singer, while not Burt Cummings, came through big time. Had the voice and the personality to make the show a huge success! Would definately see again.

  • the Guess Who the band was tight

by notrubc on 3/21/11Twin River Event Center - LincolnRating: 4 out of 5

after attending the Guess Who concert i was dissapoited withthe fact that Burton Cummings is not with the band anymore because he can still hit the notes The band was tight despite the fact of the younger artist and sound aklot better in person than on record and the show was to short but otherwise it was a great show

  • The Guess Who were FANTASTIC!

by Sparkingstone on 3/21/11Twin River Event Center - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

The Guess Who at the Twin River Event Center was a great show. The only bad thing about it was that having paid for tickets up front and all of the people standing in front of the stage, blocked out view of the band. I think everyone should have remained in their seats. Why pay for full price tickets if the people in the back are going to come up and stand in front of you so you can't see anything? I would never go to another concert there because of this fact and because the casino has a lousy set up for dining. All of the restaurants were an hour to an hour and a half wait (there are only THREE) and near the fast food areas, there are no places to sit and eat! Ridiculous set up. They should have checked out Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods to see how to set up a proper casino.

  • Still my favorite

by nomangoman on 3/6/11Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

I felt like I was a tenager again. These guys have been my favorite band for over 40 years. I was a bit nervous about how they would perform after all these years but I was transported back in time from the moment they took the stage with that same unique sound and tight instrumentals. They performed all my favorites and then returned for a encore of 3 or4 more favorites. They even met and signed autographs after the show by the souvenir table. I really wanted to stick around after the show and meet them but didn't want to fight the crowd.

  • The Guess Who really rocked& would see again, again

    by Carol123456 on 2/28/11Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great wish I could see all over. Had no warmer band and that is what like let's get down to the show. Some had to have had a broken heart to write some of their songs and really hurt !!! Played for about 1 1/2 hour solid and even came out and met crowd .... been to dozens of concerts and NEVER have seen that done Guys were nice and seemed to appreciate the crowd. If the group reads this sorry I missed Metairie the next day too tired but I know how old you are pink tie !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brings back memories from 40 years ago

by pirateros on 2/28/11Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

We saw the original Guess Who May, 1971 in Athens GA the night we became engaged. the lead singer was not born yet, but sounds so much like Burton Cummings. It is good to see two original members still playing after all these years. The band started on time and played a solid 90 minutes, with great showmanship. I will be watching their schedule to see if/when they will be back so that we can go back to see them.

Great group even after all these years. Glad to know that 2 of the members are from the original group. It's really appreciated by fans that they come out and sign autographs after their performance.

    by REDVETTE58 on 2/27/11Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 4 out of 5

No Burton Cummings :( Good show, just not quite the same. Band Members were very friendly at the meet and greet after the show.

  • Old , broke, and need to retire

    by AJPQLZ20 on 2/27/11Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 2 out of 5

Having the original bassist and drummer without the key members is marginal at best. Its no wonder they play casino gigs. Four times they bring up the money and at least that many times the age of the audience. Tip to the band, if you have to keep asking if we are having a good time, what do you think? The show should have come with a disclaimer. Actually good muscicians that could play, but just not The Guess Who.

  • Guess Who in Biloxi

by MCN715 on 6/1/10Resorts Super Star Theatre - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

We could not have chosen a better band to see this Memorial Day Weekend. When we arrived they had just started playing and we could hear them before we entered the showroom....we had awesome seats...at the stage...and sat with some of the bands posse. We ROCKED AND ROLLED the entire show....the music brought back alot of great memories from the 70's..we bought the CD and have been listening and enjoying the music with our friends. We highly highly recommend seeing this band play any where any time......
