About

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached no. 1 in Canada and no. 9 in the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who charted fourteen Top 40 singles in the United States and more than thirty in Canada.

The band found their greatest success in the late 60s and early 70s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", and "No Time". With Randy Bachman's exit in 1970, Kurt Winter joined the band and The Guess Who would go on to release the band's top selling album Share the Land. Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.

The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

With Randy's powerful guitar work and Burton's distinct vocals and keyboard mastery, the duo continues to capture the spirit of what made The Guess Who a household name. They are more than just former bandmates -- they are ambassadors of Canadian rock, whose influence can be heard in countless acts that followed in their footsteps. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Guess Who were pioneers who dared to dream beyond their borders--and succeeded on a global stage.

What a great evening. Chuck's voice was a little rough, but it was so nostalgic, that it didn't really matter. Plus you have to remember how old the man is. Pretty amazing! The Guess Who was, well awesome. Lead singer did a great job recreating the past! Loved it! The only down side to the whole thing, is that you can't have a drink. That is really a bummer at the Minnesota casinos. I guess I would rather see them in a different venue where you can choose to have a cocktail or not.

  • Chuck at Grand Casino

So sorry to report that this show was only fair and not worth the time I took to drive 2 hours up to GCML and the money I spent to spend the night there, as well. The show only lasted 40 minutes, the band was not great and Chucky was just not that thrilling to watch. I wasted good money that I do not have much of lately. I was looking for a great show to help me get thru hard times in this economy.

  • The Guess Who were totally awesome.

The performance was unbeatable. The seating was good, good acoustics. The band showed very good energy and the combined talent of all of the members was exceptional. We were incredibly impressed with the overall show.

This was the 3rd time I've heard the Guess Who in the past 10 years and I'd have to say it was the best. They sang the right songs with lots of enthusiasm and they were having fun!!! To top it off they signed autographs and let us have our pictures taken with them. What more could you ask for.

  • Guess Who rocked!

The Guess Who gave us more than we could have imagined! Superb showmen, exceptional talent and they all took us back to the 60s and 70s on a real trip! "The best rock concert I've ever attended," said my husband and his siblings. I agree - thanks for a terrific event!

  • It was excellent

It was fun to listen to these classic rock songs that I haven't heard for so long. The Guess Who go a little too loud and my ears were numb toward the end.

Without Burton Cummings, I couldn't say I'd see The Guess Who again. While they had a lot of energy, it was like watching someone else play their songs. I'd have to say the show was just all right ~ not fabulous.

  • Good as alway

by bmcc on 4/11/11Grand Casino Mille Lacs Event Center - OnamiaRating: 5 out of 5

Great combo, Chuck Negron had a great performance. His voice is unbelievable. Too short however, by both bands. I guessing, the casino wanted us back in the gambling as fast as possible. I believe the guess who did only 10 songs, with no closing act. Jim Kale was into it more than I can remember, saw them 6 X last year.

  • by scheuney on 4/11/11Grand Casino Mille Lacs Event Center - OnamiaRating: 4 out of 5

Both acts were better than I thought they would be. Lots of energy on stage. Only thing wrong both groups did not play all of their ``A'' material. Otherwise very special show.

We thoroughly enjoyed the show. The musicians were great and we had a fun time hearing the music of our youth.
