About

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached no. 1 in Canada and no. 9 in the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who charted fourteen Top 40 singles in the United States and more than thirty in Canada.

The band found their greatest success in the late 60s and early 70s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", and "No Time". With Randy Bachman's exit in 1970, Kurt Winter joined the band and The Guess Who would go on to release the band's top selling album Share the Land. Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.

The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

With Randy's powerful guitar work and Burton's distinct vocals and keyboard mastery, the duo continues to capture the spirit of what made The Guess Who a household name. They are more than just former bandmates -- they are ambassadors of Canadian rock, whose influence can be heard in countless acts that followed in their footsteps. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Guess Who were pioneers who dared to dream beyond their borders--and succeeded on a global stage.

  • The Guess Who@ The Mahaffy Performing Arts Ctr

Awesome show, awesome rock band. Great to see Garry Peterson still playing and as good as ever. Derek Sharp is the perfect replacement for Burton Cummings. He is a great singer, performer and showman. All the rest of the band was awesome as well. Can't wait to see them again!

  • Guess who is pretty amazing, The Guess Who!

by JC on 3/28/23Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

Was'nt sure what to expect having been a big Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings fan, however, these guys were phenomenal. The sound, tempo, rhythm, vocals, and tone were spot on, SPOT ON. Derek # is a great frontman, very personable with the crowd, and all were great musicians. Big props to drummer Garry Patterson, original member of The Guess Who.

  • Loved it!

Knew practically every song!! Amazing energy coming from the stage…everyone was having a great experience both on and off the stage.

  • I Know Who!

The Guess Who are a very relevant group of musicians who play all the hits plus more from an extensive catalog dating back to the sixties. The original drummer, Gary Peterson is still banging away to the rhythm of his youth with the same energy. But it is lead singer

  • The Guess Who is still better than The Who

by Steve on 3/20/23The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Great performance in a cozy venue and the new band members of The Guess Who just blew me away. The lead singer is a guitar-playing Canadian freak who really brings the energy (even playing on one leg at times). His unique voice paid tribute to the original band's sound but his onstage rock star performance also reminded me of the greats like Rush's Geddy Lee or AC DC's Bob Scott. His talent and humor were very entertaining. The lead guitarist and bass player were also just amazing and blended together like a band playing together for decades. The drummer was the band's OG, playing for over 60 years and I loved hearing his story about recording Undun in New York and actually marrying an 'American Woman'. The keyboardist was also outstanding and reminded me of Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson when he played the flute. Needless to say, I had a fantastic time.

  • Awesome

This was a great concert. I went with my siblings. We grew up listening to The Guess Who. My sister and I had been before but not brother and he was super stoked. He said it was the best concert he had seen in a very long time and brought back great memories. He is still talking about it weeks later!

As we age, dare say "hang on" we have to accept that we were very fortunate to have "been there". Where we are now is different. But still good. Not one single original member but that is where we are now and I say it all the time. It was a group of very talented musicians playing great songs. What more can you ask for? Go. Sway to the music, have a martini instead of acid or getting stoned, clap and sing along and be home by 11. Fun! If you want to criticize as a "cover band" don't go. You knew that going in.

  • Excellent Band

Great job on all the big songs from this Great Band The Guess Who

  • Music and show were great, venue, not so much.

    by J. P. on 2/21/23Bally's Event Center - LincolnRating: 4 out of 5

The group came out and played strong. The music was good, the performance was great. The sound was good. The venue does not have stadium style seating. All seats are at the same level. Your constantly trying to look over people's heads and phones. The folding chairs are jammed together with no cup holders. Try sitting next to a 300lb person on a folding chair and their butt is pushing you off of your chair or into the person on the otherside of you. It would have to be a really good band with no other options for me to want to go back to Twin River in Rhode Isalnd. And that says nothing for having to walk through a smoke filled casino to get to the events center.

  • Rockin Good Time

These guys were incredibly talented and entertaining! The band gets 5 stars, but there was something off with the acoustics. The music was a bit distorted at times. No matter, it was a great experience.

  • The Guess Who, they Rock!!!

by Susie on 2/20/23Bally's Event Center - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

Not impressed with the venue, hard to see, and seats way too close together. Also, parking was a hassle, the west entrance parking lot was blocked off. Allied ins. is way too expensive. Next time I will call the venue directly, if I try that venue ever again.

  • Great show! Fun night!

Good time at Ballys Twin River! Show started a little after 8:00. Band was fun and payed all the hits.

  • A great experience.

The venue and staff at Twin River were helpful and courteous. I enjoy going to concerts there. And the band was excellent, as always.

  • Awesome Half show

by designer on 2/20/23Bally's Event Center - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

The songs were all great, all the players were all great!!! Loved the song selections!!! We missed the drummer but understood he was not feeling well,,,, But playing for only one hour and 15 minutes is poor. If we go out to see a band, especially one as famass and revered as the Guess Who, we want to see them deliver a night of rocking out, not copping out with a half show,,,, Maybe everyone was tired but give us at least two and a half hours!!! Then we can all be wiped out together!!!

  • Amazing Show

    by D. W. on 2/20/23Bally's Event Center - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first time that we saw The Guess Who in concert but have been big fans of their music since the early '70s. They put on an amazing show, engaging the entire audience in just about every song they played. It was plain to see that they were having as much fun performing as we were as guests! Almost impossible to stay in our chairs as the great music got everyone up and moving - yes, even at our age... ;) We had the best seats we've ever had for a concert - right side of the stage and 6 rows back!!! The only recommendation that we would make is for venue security to monitor the aisles to prevent other people from coming from seats in the back and standing in front of those of us who paid for those good seats leaving our view blocked by those blocking the stage. We would definitely come to see The Guess Who and other bands again if they were to return to Bally's at Twin River, provided that venue security did a better job of controlling the crowd.

  • They were awesome.

The Guess Who performed extremely well. The sound was great. We had an awesome time.

  • VERY DISAPPOINTING

by Mikey on 2/20/23Bally's Event Center - LincolnRating: 2 out of 5

NOT THE GUESS WHO...This was a Guess Who Tribute Band. No Burt Cummings as advertised and the small metal seats provided sucked. Never again. 2 Thumbs Down.

  • Guess Who concert

by Front row Chris on 2/20/23Bally's Event Center - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

We had great seats. They did a bunch of songs. We were surprised they didn’t do “Laughing” one of our favorites. None the less, hope to see them again next year.

  • Eh

by sonnyinc on 2/20/23Bally's Event Center - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

Sat in front of the large speakers in the front row-big mistake. Also, sat next to a drunken couple who were obnoxious. Was also disappointed there were no original members in the group performing. Parking was a nightmare. not a gambler, so it was sad to see so many people throwing their money away. Going to see Dionne Warwick in April. That will be the last time you see me at Bally's.
