About

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released eleven studio albums, all of which reached the charts in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached no. 1 in Canada and no. 9 in the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who charted fourteen Top 40 singles in the United States and more than thirty in Canada.

The band found their greatest success in the late 60s and early 70s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", and "No Time". With Randy Bachman's exit in 1970, Kurt Winter joined the band and The Guess Who would go on to release the band's top selling album Share the Land. Songs such as "Hand Me Down World", "Hang On To Your Life", "Albert Flasher", "Clap for the Wolfman", "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon", "Star Baby", and "Glamour Boy" would follow.

The Guess Who officially broke up in 1975 with the exit of lead singer Burton Cummings. Cummings. Members of The Guess Who reunited a number of times over the years, with their last concert being in front of 450,000 at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto SARS benefit concert.

With Randy's powerful guitar work and Burton's distinct vocals and keyboard mastery, the duo continues to capture the spirit of what made The Guess Who a household name. They are more than just former bandmates -- they are ambassadors of Canadian rock, whose influence can be heard in countless acts that followed in their footsteps. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Guess Who were pioneers who dared to dream beyond their borders--and succeeded on a global stage.

  • A night with Guess Who

by Onthetracks on 3/30/23Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't realize that so many of the original members weren't with the band any longer. This however, didn't take away from the great experience. The sound was great and they played all of the old hits that I was looking forward to hearing. Well worth the time and money.

  • The Guess Who in St Pete

by Rich on 3/29/23Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

The Guess Who was awesome, hearing American Woman brought me back in time. All their songs were hit's for me and they made every song they performed out of this world. All the members of the band were sooo into it that the performance was as outstanding as the music they made that night. A real night to remember. The "included in the ticket price" parking for the car in the garage was the cherry on top. The Mahaffey is a top shelf venue for all bands to come and play in.

the music was actually as good or better than the recordings -I dont care for musicians when they alter a song from its original format. They were great and Ill be looking forward to seeing them again. The Parker playhouse is a great place to experience a performance such as this.

  • WOW!

by Willy Bill on 3/29/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

What a GREAT show! The house was packed (sold out). The audience looked like a senior citizens convention but really rocked the place proofing that good rock & roll hasn't died. Regardless of the absence of Cummings and Bachman, the band was fantastic playing all of their old hits and a few new ones. And The Parker is always a great place for a show. The venue is small so there's not a bad seat in the house and our seats were exceptional. This is our 3rd show at The Parker and I look forward to the next one. Rock on!

  • Great venue. Staff were great and the band was amazing.

They did an outstanding job of bringing back some very old memories. Their new lead singer, is amazing! They may be an "old" group but he and they do an amazing job! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEEING THIS GROUP and I would again, if they return to Fort Lauderdale!

Seeing the guess who at the park or house in Fort Lauderdale was a great experience. The venue is very audience. Friendly, you could see even when people were standing as long as you stood also. Drinks were expensive, but that was to be expected. The band sounded great, and a good time was had by all.

  • I loved this show!

I always enjoy the Guess Who and the Parker Playhouse is my favorite Fort Lauderdale venue. Everyone sounded fantastic and they interacted with the audience just enough. Big fan of this new lineup and their new sound.

  • Nice concert

by Aldo on 3/28/23Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

Group did about 5 songs I remembered as hits but spent too much time “jamming” and only played for a hour before coming back for an encore which was worth waiting for. Vocals and instrumentals were right on. Overall a good night!
