About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • Best show yet!

I have been following the Fray since they were playing in clubs and each time is better than the last! They put on a phenomenal show and really got the crowd into it. Issac waded into the crowd and ended up standing up on a chair singing right in front of me! I mean seriously, how can you top that?! It definitely feels like they are looking out into the crowd and seeing everyone and looking at each person. You can tell they love what they do and appreciate their fans. All in all, it was a great show to support the zoo with tasty food trucks. Totally making this a tradition.

Have wanted to see the Fray live for about 5 years. Couldn't believe when I heard they were playing at the National Zoo! The band was absolutely fantastic -- even got to chat with them before the show! Simple to get in and out, short concession lines, amazing seats and intimate setting....didn't hurt that we had incredible weather! Overall, it could not have been a more positive experience. Would definitely go back to see the Fray and would go back to Rock N Roar at the zoo if they can pull off another amazing band!

The sound quality at the venue was pretty weak and the setlist was short. My friends and I did not fell like we got our monies worth.

  • First Time Seeing The Fray Live!

by LizzyT03 on 9/15/14The Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 4 out of 5

Albany's Palace Theater was packed. The crowd was on their feet the entire time. Isaac Slade never stopped. I purchased the VIP package and almost didn't get to do the meet and greet with The Fray. There was some kind of mix up and I had to stand my ground and show additional proof that I had a right to meet the band. Despite all of that it was still a great night!

  • Amazing show at the National Zoo

by Megleyb on 9/15/14Smithsonian's National Zoo - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time I've gone to the Rock-N-Roar, but watching Fray perform at the zoo was amazing!! I recommend seeing them live to anyone!

  • The Fray

by LexiC123 on 9/15/14The Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Although we opted for mid-price tickets, our seats were still fantastic. As far as I'm concerned, there isn't a bad seat in the house because the sound in the theater is amazing. Andy Grammer, A Great Big World, and The Fray.. it doesn't get much better.

  • Rock-N-Roar at the National Zoo: Stellar Event!

by VespaGal on 9/15/14Smithsonian's National Zoo - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Our entourage attended the recent Smithsonian National Zoo's Rock-N-Roar event and had a fabulous time at the stellar performance of The Fray! Also, it was obvious that the interactive audience at this amazing outdoor venue, with its perfect weather, was unifiable in their reverence & adoration of The Fray! The event's opening performer. Joseph Keith, was a perfect and lovely preamble to The Fray, at this sold-out event!

  • Best concert I went to all summer!

by togagirl58 on 9/15/14The Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Waited several years for the Fray to come to Albany, it was worth the wait. It was a great concert - didn't want it to end. Andy Grammer and Great Big World were an added bonus. I enjoyed all three bands!

  • Cool concert

by belles369 on 9/15/14The Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 4 out of 5

The Fray were great. I was expecting a mellow concert, because a lot of their older songs are not really fast paced. However, they brought a lot of energy to the concert and it was pretty upbeat. The band that opened just before them, A Great Big World were not great.

  • Rock 'N Roar left me Roaring for More

    by CiCi55 on 9/15/14Smithsonian's National Zoo - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed an absolutely fun and memorable evening at this year's Rock 'N Roar featuring this year's entertainment by The Fray. I purchased a VIP ticket and certainly felt like a genuine VIP. The food provided by Whole Foods was delicious, healthful and plentiful. I loved the souvenirs of the special lanyard and those wonderful fans. I left well-fed like the beautiful animals at the National Zoo and marvelously entertained by the fabulous music of The Fray. I honestly already look forward to Rock 'N Roar 2015. I have attended the other 2 Rock 'N Roar concerts featuring the B-52s and O-A-R. What a way to "rock 'n roar!"

Omg ... My first concert in quite awhile ... Going to see the fray was an awesome way to kick start the concert love again ... Isaac is amazing and him and Joe singing at the same mic made me cry ... As I did when they leapt onto the stage,,, also had a game going with six or seven beach balls halfway through ,,, and isaac came down into the crowd at the end ,,, I didn't want it to end and can't wait to do meet and greet with my husband next time ,,, which is already discussed and planned on ,,,, amazing simply amazing ,,, thank you guys we love you !!!!

  • The Fray was an AMAZING first concert!

    by Bros14 on 9/13/14Emens Auditorium - MuncieRating: 5 out of 5

I would recommend this band for anyone! They change it up a bit by playing slow and then upbeat. He also entertained well! He got on the piano and climbed into the crowd!

  • Up close and personal with The Fray

by Melbatoast525 on 9/13/14The Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 4 out of 5

The Palace was an excellent venue to see this time of ROCK concert. The opening acts, Andy Grammer and Great Big World, added to the caliber of the show. But The Fray definately were the STARS! True rock stars! They sounded amazing!
