Tight Band; such skilled musicians!
by Ing on 5/13/24State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5The Fogcutters have it all together! The drummer keeps everyone playing like a well-oiled machine! Excellent concert! We enjoyed so many different singers; it was a great mix of entertainers. The one thing we would have changed is to turn the volume down when the 3 guys played (can't remember the band's name). They were a touch beyond the sweet spot. Overall, we loved the whole concert!
Talented band ruined by sound engineers
by CW on 5/13/24State Theatre - PortlandRating: 2 out of 5A very talented ensemble over-amplified past distortion to the point of pain. Much of the audience seems not to notice. I was quite disappointed, as previous events at the State were well-presented.

Great to hear original Christmas songs and creative interpretations of traditional Christmas songs! Was hard to understand the words with some musicians - due to position of the mic or the acoustics in the State Theater? A printed or electronic program would have been helpful so we could know the names of musicians and singers to follow beyond that show. Would have been nice to have encore include the band not just a singer - we were there to hear The Fogcutters after all.

Needed a Good Sound Engineer

Only selections using just a few instruments allowed us to hear the singers. We would recommend no amplification on any of the brass or woodwind instruments and light amplification on the keyboards and guitars
