This was our first Fogcutters Christmas show but will not be our last! Such a talented group of artists and the show was perfect for all ages.
This was my second time at the show and it was fantastic and better than the previous show in which "Uncle Maurice" was annoying. We will definitely make this an annual event.
We loved the show and will now make it our annual tradition.
One if the best concerts ever! Superbly talented musicians with a huge sound! A great fun family event. A must for the holidays!
The show is great and so is having a big band back up local artists. Its too bad this will be the last Big Band Syndrome. Enjoyed them all.
The Fogcutters are an excellent band, and this year's Big Band Syndrome was superb. The show is about taking local Maine artists' songs and arranging them for the big band style, then asking the musicians to come perform with the band backing them. Excellent, excellent musicality from all parties, there was never a dull moment. Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds were sublime as well!
Incredibly talented, lots of original material, skillfully arranged, and energetically performed! Tight tight tight!!
I loved the music. Though when playing at night avoid the sleepy relaxing music, people are there to dance.
Impressive set. My fourth year in a row going and I will certainly be attending again next year!! Bravo Fogcutters!
This show was amazing and I loved the blend of Musicians with the big band. I found myself smiling And dancing all night!! Thank you and I hope you Come back next year at the state theatre!
Amazing experience. They could charge $50 and I would still go. Best $20 ever spent.
The show was absolutely amazing! 3 hours of fantastic talent! I left the show wanting to hear more!
Who doesn't like a good mash-up? Especially when it's made of all local artists. This show was just too fun. The Fogcutters did an amazing job arranging their big band style to fit perfectly with the songs of this years guests. I could have listened to them all night.
What a fun night! I will never miss another one of their shows, wasn't sure what to expect but they blew me away with the energy and unexpected styles. Can't wait for the next one.
The Fogcutters kill it every time they take the stage. I've been to two of the three Big Band Syndrome shows as well as many of their shows at Port City and love it every time. My favorite part is that they really put in an effort to make each show unique. I can't wait until December!
So much sound and so much talent! I love that they can play everything from old big band classics to Led Zeppelin, and everything in between, plus awesome originals. I have been to every year of Big Band Syndrome so far, and think it is an amazingly unique way to bring together the best musicians in town and hear their songs in a different way. Can't wait for volume 4!
Have seen the Fogcutters at a number of large arenas and clubs in Portland. Always a great show, ..very concert like even in smaller club. Fun to watch and great musicians. Especially like the variety of music they play. Have been to one of the State Theater Big Band Sydrome shows and thought the show was awesome.
Amazing live music that is reminiscent of the Big Bands from the past. Horn section is great, awesome guitarists, and an enjoyable variety of singers and songs (the rest of the band rocks too :) I highly recommend seeing them for any of their shows since I have been to many and they are all fun!! Good for any age group and music lovers of various genres.
My wife and I attended this show having heard the Fogcutters a few times before. It was an electrifying show even more enhanced by their MC's Megan and Chas. Up on our feet the whole evening, their arrangements of "non-traditional" big band tunes brings everything to a new level. Specifically their arrangement of Led Zepplin's Kashmir was rocking!!!!!! Would recommend this group to anyone, absolutely suitable for every age group!
Kenya Hall rocked the house! The Fogcutters tried a lot of new songs, most of them bombed. Lots of people left early. I hope they have the courage to let the bad tunes go and move on to better current and future works. I'll check out Big Band Syndrome Four in December, should be a good show.
