Cure was Amazing, The Pantages was the Worst!

by Slappy99 on 11/26/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

After seeing over 20 shows of the cure I was totally stoked for this show in Particular. What could be better, all the old classics of the cure being played in one night. It was Truly Wonderful. Ok now for the bad, The Pantages Theatre is a truly breathtakingly beautiful venue. Too bad the Ushers are not as nice. They are some of the most rude mean ushers Security I have ever had the unpleasant misfortune of witnessing. They chastised friends for singing to loudly, Would not let or help a mother go check on her 11 yo child across the theatre. Threatened to take my camera phone away for using an LED Flash as the house lights were on., When strobes were in full effect during the concert. Just ridiculous rules they seemed to make up as they went along. At least the Cure rocked the house.

Robert Smith is still AMAZING after all this time!

by Diane08537 on 11/26/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Was a very surreal concert. Robert never skipped a beat and his shows are a standard 3 hours. No artist can top that!

Relections - Worth a Quarter of a Century Wait

by SoGrey on 11/26/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Perfect except they couldn't play every single great song we all wanted to hear in four hours. Makes me wish I could have gone to all 3 pantages shows in the hope of hearing other golden encore songs. Bravo. One of the top shows I have ever been to.

After all these year, The Cure still has it!

by ReckLiz on 11/26/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Every set was flawless, and Robert's voice was still as amazing as it was 30 years ago! No one can beat a performance from The Cure!

    Simply amazing!

by Robstrange on 11/26/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I've seen The Cure about 15 times and they have never disappointed. I think this concept of theirs was a great idea, even if most people had no idea what they were doing. I was amazed!I took my girlfriend who has never seen them and was totally thrilled!

    The Cure "reflections"

by pinkfrost on 11/26/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Probably heard some songs that have never been played and may never be played ever again. A once in a lifetime experience for longtime fans. Truly exceptional performance.

The Cure: Reflections at the Pantages

by silverinacoma on 11/25/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

This concert was like a dream come true for me. I am a huge fan and had never seen the band live before, so to hear their first three albums (plus many B-sides!) back to back was almost too much to imagine. I loved every single minute of it: from the peaceful chirping of birds playing before the band took the stage, to the crashing sounds of Three Imaginary Boys, 17 Seconds and Faith done at a breakneck pace, I felt transported to a time I wish I had been old enough to remember. All around me there were Cure fans in their 40s, and though they had all the more reason to be nostalgic, I felt welcomed to share the experience with them. The Cure, as I told the woman decked out all in black next to me, is one of those kind of bands that is timeless and ethereal. Robert Smith along with the other members from the different incarnations of the band, sounded as good as the records.

An Unbelievable Night With The Cure

by CorCor79 on 11/25/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I would consider myself a Cure fanatic for sure. Seeing them in a venue this small was really a dream come true. It was such a great show, truly intimate and one of the best I've ever seen them.

    The Cure Is Amazing!

by musicchic20 on 11/25/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

This was the second time I have seen The Cure and who knew they could be better then the first. It was a once in a life time chance to see them play "Three Imaginary Boys", "Seventeen Seconds", and "Faith" in entirety but they went above and beyond from there and did 3 sets on top of that. So good to see bands that really deliver live. Thanks Robert Smith and The Cure!

    Classic!

by Anonymous on 11/25/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Excellent concert at a classic venue. The Cure was spot on with their music spinning the clock back 30 yrs. Roberts vocals were amazing and bringing life to his lyrics. It was nice to see Roger ODonnell again in the line up along with Lol....bringing the Cure back from over the years.

The Cure not what I remembered.

by sbrunner on 11/25/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

We were so excited to see The Cure tickets go on sale. The music was great but I wasn't impressed with the format. RS played 44 songs straight with little enthusiasm. No one even stood up to dance for most of the concert. It seemed like a chore for him and it was a chore for me to be there.

    Electric!

by DamianJSpooner on 11/25/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I'm in absolute awe that I got to see The Cure perform their first three albums, twice. Not only that but to top it off they performed three encores, consisting of B-Sides and singles. Robert Smiths vocals were spot-on. The Monday night show (11/21/2011) sounded tighter than Tuesday but even if that's true, they could do no wrong. It's The Cure after all... FIRST ENCORE, World War, I'm Cold, Plastic Passion, Boys Don't Cry, Killing An Arab, Jumping Someone Else's Train, Another Journey By Train. SECOND ENCORE, Descent, Splintered In Her Head, Charlotte Sometimes, The Hanging Garden. THIRD ENCORE, Let's Go To Bed, The Walk, The Love Cats. Note: I saw quite a few available seats both in the orchestra level & the mezzanine (on both nights I attended).

    CURE

by andromeda82 on 11/24/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I love The Cure. LOVE! Although I am not a fan of their last album. Either way, anytime there is an opportunity to see them, I am definitely there. The Reflections tour was no exception. I had never been to the Pantages theater but it was a really nice intimate setting. Two things bothered me though. I had orchestra seating and had a hard time seeing the stage because I am short (can't blame that on anybody, just MY own problem). The other thing is the tempo of the music. Both albums are supposed to have a slow tempo yet they sound very upbeat almost. It threw the mood all off.

    AMAZING!!!

by estepho on 11/24/11Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

You know they're a good band when u think your listening to a cd rather than live. Rober Smiths voice was awsome: hasn't changed one bit! Love Love LOVED the show, can't wait until the come back!
