by DamianJSpooner on 11/25/11Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I'm in absolute awe that I got to see The Cure perform their first three albums, twice. Not only that but to top it off they performed three encores, consisting of B-Sides and singles. Robert Smiths vocals were spot-on. The Monday night show (11/21/2011) sounded tighter than Tuesday but even if that's true, they could do no wrong. It's The Cure after all... FIRST ENCORE, World War, I'm Cold, Plastic Passion, Boys Don't Cry, Killing An Arab, Jumping Someone Else's Train, Another Journey By Train. SECOND ENCORE, Descent, Splintered In Her Head, Charlotte Sometimes, The Hanging Garden. THIRD ENCORE, Let's Go To Bed, The Walk, The Love Cats. Note: I saw quite a few available seats both in the orchestra level & the mezzanine (on both nights I attended).

  • CURE

    by andromeda82 on 11/24/11Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I love The Cure. LOVE! Although I am not a fan of their last album. Either way, anytime there is an opportunity to see them, I am definitely there. The Reflections tour was no exception. I had never been to the Pantages theater but it was a really nice intimate setting. Two things bothered me though. I had orchestra seating and had a hard time seeing the stage because I am short (can't blame that on anybody, just MY own problem). The other thing is the tempo of the music. Both albums are supposed to have a slow tempo yet they sound very upbeat almost. It threw the mood all off.

  • AMAZING!!!

You know they're a good band when u think your listening to a cd rather than live. Rober Smiths voice was awsome: hasn't changed one bit! Love Love LOVED the show, can't wait until the come back!

  • Opening night in Hollywood was more than amazing!

by robynfromsc on 11/24/11The Pantages Theater - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

This show was the best I've seen in over two decades! Their energy and stage presence...acoustics, talent, every single set/ song, greeting fans, signing autographs ....absolutely unforgettable. All were moments frozen in time and in my memory. Southern California LOVES the Cure and we all truly hope that you will return again, and please... don't make us wait too long for another tour!

  • The Cure: As Amazing as Ever

by Eizenhalft on 11/23/11Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

A brilliant show that I was lucky to be a part of. Thanks to Robert and the band for selecting Los Angeles and the Pantages for their Reflections tour!

Amazing isnt a good enough word compared to the feeling this concert gave me

  • Possesed All Night!

by HelenDaChef on 11/23/11Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

OMG The concert was amazing!! Robert Smith's voice sounded better than ever and his clever switching it up of guitars was genious! 3 hours of music and fantastic stage lighting, with only short breaks between, the show was electric! The Instrumental "A Reflection" and "The Funeral Party" were both haunting and hypnotic. "The Weedy Burton" had me shaking my whole body in a groovy trance and "Descent" followed by "Splintered in Her Head" took me even further down the rabbit hole.

  • The Cure does it again

by Brunothekid on 11/23/11Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Three hours of an emotional roller coaster ride from 1979 to 1983, maybe 1984. It was better than ever. The band showed off how really talented they are as musicians. They played everything on the three albums, to include B-sides and instrumentals. It was a privilege to watch and listen. The sound quality was awesome and Robert and the Band had a genuine sense of having fun performing. I t was like being young again. The crowd loved it. The Cure was awesome and they continue to put on a refreshing show even while performing previous music that I have heard a million times. I can only wait if they will perform the next three albums or perform Trilogy for Los Angeles.

So worth it!! Go if you have the opportunity. They not only play their first three albums but also many of their hits for the encore.

  • I wasn't a big Cure fan until now

    by livemusic4ever on 11/23/11Pantages Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Up until now I have only listened to the popular songs by the Cure ("their hits). I was a little worried going to their show at the Pantages theatre knowing they were intending on playing their first 3 albums in their entirety which I hadn't ever listened to and probably only recognized a couple of songs. I came out of the show a huge Cure fan. From the first song to the last for each of these albums I couldn't believe how great these songs were........what made it even 10x better was the awesome/psychedelic/mind numbing light show that accompanied the entire performance. The Pantages Theatre was awesome. Fantastic acoustics. Fantastic architecture. Every seat in the house is a winner.

  • The Cure can not be toped!

  • The Cure at Pantages

by VikkiLA on 11/23/11Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This show was mesmerizing. It was a truly sonic experience that was enjoyable from start to finish. The band sounded tight and the vocals were incredible. The acoustics of Pantages Theater are amazing and I don't think I'll ever miss a show of interest there again.

  • Still Giddy

by Balletbbabe on 11/19/11The Beacon - NY CityRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen them live 5 times and their sound is always impressive, no matter the location or size and accoustics of the venue. Robert writes very well for his range, and they always played full out in their shows for a minimum of 2 hours with very popular encores ad infinitum. They make me giddy, after all these years. Must be all that black dye I put in my hair?lol Why no! It is their muscian-ship. So looking forward to the Beacon show. Making a special trip to share my thanks this Thanksgiving.

  • Best Band EVER!

by LadyRadiator on 10/31/11Pantages - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This is by far the best band of our generation! They never fail to please when you see them live. After 18 years of being a Cure fan, I still go see The Cure whenever they are in town. And ....FOREVER!!!!!!!! These pantages shows are going to be EPIC.

  • Absolutely amazing

by Kdizz on 2/27/11Coachella Music and Arts Festival - IndioRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen them several times, but the last time I saw them was absolutely epic! They played forever, even past the venues "curfew"! With their amps off and the lights on, they continued to play. Their set and playing was amazing. Really, just a great band to see live.
