  • Only for fans of their newer stuff

by tigerfanatics on 5/16/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

I was a die hard fan 20 years ago (when the Cure was a thing) and probably know every line of 150+ songs from their early albums. They started out great with 5 or 6 of the more popular ones from back then but started playing newer stuff and there was a stretch of an hour and a half where everyone around me sat patiently at first and grew more frustrated. The arena emptied of over half the people before they played any other 'vintage" stuff. Maybe I am biased but the Cure WAS the 80's for me and I wanted to re-live that. I was disappointed. The venue also was disappointing. The two screens showed a constant view of a side angle of the lead guitar from afar. Never any different views or close ups for the fans in the nosebleads.

  • Incredible.

It was just flat out amazing. We saw the second night which had the better songs and it was like it was a custom playlist for me. Sound was perfect. My wife saw them here in 1989 and said you could close your eyes and it almost sounded the same. One of the best live shows I have ever seen!!!

by ETAH on 5/15/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The Cure played for almost 2.5 hours. Sounded great, as usual.

  • The Cure are BACK!

by Roo14 on 5/15/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was AWESOME! If there was one thing that, could use improvement it would be the audio when the Musicians were speaking. It was difficult to understand what was being said.

  • The Cure-excellent as always

by JandB1234567 on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Great set...wish I could have seen them the previous day. That would have encompassed a perfect selection from their entire catalog for both days.

  • The Cure rocked New Orleans

by MindyRC on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The Cure came out and owned it both nights in Nola! Smith and Co perform and sounds like the professional musicians they are ! His voice sounds just as good today as it did in the 80's. They were so good that they left me wanting more ! Don't miss The Cure in concert , their shows are worth every penny

  • Not great

by JaysonSlade on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

Personally, I wish the bands with such deep catalog would be considerate enough to their ticket buying fans to give us a heads up when the show's gonna be mostly just deep catalog. 3 hours of stage time is awesome, but those 3 hours of just rarities and B sides was an unexpected downer. I'd much rather, on the night I pay a few hundred to come see you, that you just play 'em like a sellout and crank out the hits. I will see over 50 bands play shows this year. I'd never have thought that The Cure would already be toward the bottom 10% of those shows. Sorry guys. Love me some Cure. Didn't love the show.

  • WOW

by Jonquillity on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Worth every mile of a 1400-mile round trip! They are all about the music, nothing but the music so help us God. What a great concert!

  • The Cure was Just Like Heaven

by Eryerson on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was nothing short of amazing! It was a wonderfully dramatic combination of Robert Smiths's howls of unrequited love and brooding surreal beats mixed with a touch of fantasy. I loved every minute. I saw them at the same venue in 1989 and they are better than ever! Love those Cats! #kissmekissmekissmerobertsmith

  • The Cure Finally!

by Drwahoo00 on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

After growing up listening to them and following through high school, I finally got to see them in concert and they did not disappoint. They sounded awesome. Would like to have heard a couple more songs I knew like close to me and in between days, but a 29 song set over 2 1/2 hours + does not leave one longing too much! Did get to hear pictures of you right off the bat, one of my favorite songs ever and they did almost the complete disintegration album. Robert Smith shows no signs of slowing down after 40 years and will keep them on my radar to see again!

  • Cure 2016

by TheRealTaliesin on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was fantastic and well worth the cost... Robert Smith is still Robert Smith and perfection and concentration are his standards... The performance was amazing as ever... No much more to say... NO disappointments.... On the other hand, the Arena NEEDS to clearly mark the sections and rows... Confusion reins supreme with people trying to figure out where their seats are... 10 bucks for parking should help cover the cost of section ushers to help people near their seating...

The Cure sounded fantastic! Played a lot of songs spanning over their whole musical career! Did 4 oncores!! Don't miss taking a walk down Fasination Street!

  • The Cure get better with age! Unbelievable!!!

by Floydist on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Truly one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. Over the top theatrics with the lighting and sound and Robert Smith's voice perhaps the best of the 4 times I've seen them since 1987.

The Cure sounded and looked amazing. Parking at the venue was really easy.

  • Disappointed

by Disappointedsquared on 5/14/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 1 out of 5

Played only two songs from greatest hits that got the crowd going.

  • sounded great

by duranie43 on 5/13/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

The Cure sounded and looked great. The special effects (light show) was excellent. I was just disappointed with the song list. We went on Tuesday, their first night of the tour. I felt many of their songs was rare, obscure songs. Many people began to leave after 2 hours. It was unfortunate they did not include more known songs. I would have loved to hear Lullaby and Pictures of You. If you went the next night, you got a totally different concert. The better song list out of the two nights. Left disappointed.

  • The Cure May 10th Lakefront Arena

by curefanforever on 5/13/16UNO Lakefront Arena - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Another strong, amazing performance by the best band in the world. The complexity of sound and variety of music made this a really entertaining concert. If I could afford to, I would follow them!
