Great Show! Great Sound! Great Great Seats! They were tight!
The Cure went off in Honolulu on Saturday night with a near three hour show that covered the full spectrum of older hits interspersed with newer songs. The sound was great and singer Robert Smith had complete control of the sold out crowd in the Arena. What a treat to see and hear the band in 2016. So far, the best of the year here!
The last time I saw the Cure was in 1996 in Toronto, Canada and never did I think I would see them again twenty years down the road. Smith's voice was just as strong and the music as powerful as ever! I am so glad I had the chance to see him play again!
They played all the nostalgic hits and plenty beautiful new songs as well. The show was excellent and really tugged at our hearts.
Robert Smith and the band always brings down the house!!!!!!!! Aloha!!!
It was my first Cure concert, and I wanna come back for more!! Robert Smith is my idol, and he has so much to give to music..The different setlist that the band offers to the fans makes them want to come for a 2nd or 3rd show. I was so happy that they got to play "Shake Dog Shake".
Must see show. If you can see it twice I strongly recommend as they change their playlist per show
The Cure are still after so many years sounding fantastic. They played many songs and we feel it was well worth the cost. One criticism on the base player who rarely stayed still- he spastically circled and paced the stage which was super distracting.
Great show they always spoil there fans! I can't wait till they come back next year
An amazing 3 hour performance by the Cure. Well worth the time.
The Blaisdell is the best place to see a large band! Other venues in town are way too small. We had great seats and The Cure played for 3 hours. They are an amazing band to see live.
Loved it so much we also went to the 2nd night - & got songs we missed in the first show!!!
I love The Cure and I loved my second Cure concert, although they didn't play "Killing an Arab" on Saturday night I still enjoyed the show immensely.
The hardest working band on tour this summer made the cavernous and hallowed ground of The Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu feel like an intimate setting. Robert Smith and the band grinded out a pop laced set while connecting the dots of deep cuts and b-sides. A definite must see for the music, Smith's swooping voice, and watching Simon prowl the stage like a ferrel cat with his Bass guitar.
Every band should put on as crowd-pleasing a performance as The Cure. This is the second time I've seen them and frankly, I'd be okay if every concert I went to for the rest of my life was The Cure. They sound fantastic, they play a good mix of their poppy hits and their darker music and while there were a few songs I wish they'd played, I was supremely satisfied when the lights finally came on in the arena. It feels like the band really cares about making their fans happy, rather than just trying to cash in our nostalgia.
They played a different playlist from the night before. A couple from 17 seconds, the Lovecats and an extended 'A Forest."
I've been listening and playing (used to be a radio DJ) the Cure since well.. for awhile and Saturday's concert was a real pleasure to hear the solid voice and sounds of a well honed band. Each and every song was played with the energy and sounds that kept everyone on their feet. I felt the money spent for a 'close' seat was well worth it other than the bouncy electronic smoking folks in front of me. Come on...spend money on the good stuff if you're gonna chain smoke it!! ANYHOO...the drumming, lead, bass, organ, and vocals were pristine and I'd spent money again to see THE CURE!
I'm not sure there's much I can say about The Cure that hasn't already been said more artfully and articulately. They were simply amazing! There were a few songs I wished they had played, but when you consider that they played for 3 hours, and filled that time with songs spanning their entire career, you can't walk away feeling slighted in the least. To play every song of theirs that I love, they'd have to play a solid 6-10 hours. I hope they return again soon, as I enjoyed the show thoroughly. And the light show was stunning!
Excellent concert and good energy. I also have to mention the venue security did a excellent job at keeping stage crashers at bay and making them return to their seats. It was irritating when people rushed the stage to get a close up but security was prompt on making them go back to their seats.
