The Color Purple is highly recommended!!!

I truly enjoyed myself at this play. This play displayed so many emotions that we all have felt sometime in our life. The singing and dancing was amazing and the background art was astonishing. I would recommend this play to anyone that needs to watch something to make them feel good about life and overcoming obstacles.

The Color Purple was a captivating performance.

by BKay on 7/11/09DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I enjoyed the entire play, from the talented performers, to the costumes, and even the stage settings which were simplistic for ease of scene changes, yet more than enough to allow the viewer to escape into the world of The Color Purple. I was captivated through the entire performance.

The Color Purple was an absolutely entertaining performance. My husband and I had front-row center seats. Could not have asked for better seats. The performer were so skilled. Thank you for bringing the play to the Raleigh-Durham area.

    The Color Purple was fantastic

by CMJR on 7/11/09DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Everything about the play was great and we enjoyed it immensely. The only down side to the evening was the unavailable handicap parking on the first level which we needed. The first available space was on the 5th level and that was a problem. In the future, could you please make provisions for those with disabilities.

The Color Purple was as good as a Broadway show

by TamBob on 7/11/09DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

We enjoyed The Color Purple immensely. I was hesitant to attend at first because I've attended many shows on Broadway in NYC. I was so pleased that the talent was as good as I see in NYC. And I love the DPAC. We've attended 2 comedy shows and 1 play. We've always been pleased with our seats, the volunteers, the concession stand lines.

The Color Purple was the Top of the Line!!!!!

by DoctorErnest on 7/11/09DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I had wanted to get to NY to see this performance, but it seems that things were against me getting there. I had always wondered whether the show was too long and whether or not it would capture my attention for the entire show. And then the show pulled into Durham ... and I am so glad that the show was brought to DPAC. Overall, the facilities and services at DPAC were outstanding. We had great seats and the show -- it was better than I expected and I was expecting a great performance. The musical and dance performances were the best and the time just melted away. Also noticeable was the multi-racial population of the audience. Being relatively new to Durham I have attended few events celebrating the work of African Americans where there was a multi-racial audience that really showed appreciation for the work. Never before in my time in Durham have I witnessed a significant event where African Americans and Whites of every age group were totally on the same page. Thank you DPAC for becoming a place where the best performances can be brought to Durham! Dr. Ernest
