About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • Great show, not so great sound

by Anonymous on 6/28/16Jiffy Lube Live - BristowRating: 3 out of 5

The show was well put together, with great quality visuals. The sound was muddy. We were under the roof, so maybe that made it worse, but have attended other concerts at venue with no problem with getting clear sound before.

  • Chicks Rule!

    by g8rsig on 6/28/16Jiffy Lube Live - BristowRating: 5 out of 5

Been way too long... the Chicks are back, and better than ever! They sound great, and put on an amazing show. So many hits, too many to do in a 2-hour show. Loved the whole show, sound was great and LIGHTING was amazing. Kudos to lighting and graphics support. Well done!

  • wonderful show!

perfectly orchestrated from start to finish! great crowd too! hope we get to see them again soon.

  • Disappointing

by Anonymous on 6/28/16Jiffy Lube Live - BristowRating: 2 out of 5

They are more interested in shoving their political agenda down your throat than playing their music.

  • Amazing show

    by Partyo7 on 6/28/16Jiffy Lube Live - BristowRating: 5 out of 5

100s of concerts I've been to, this was the best. I don't even like country music, but their energy and passion and love comes off the stage. I cried and laughed and sang and left wanting to make a better world. SO glad to see the back in full force DCX MMXVI

  • The Dixie Chicks brought tears and smile.........

    by chessiegirl2016 on 6/28/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

Natalie Mains is so talented. And so are the rest of the group. The new songs, "Prince" tribute and their song about acceptance blew us away.

  • PRIVILEGE TO BE THERE

by vrosebowl on 6/28/16Jiffy Lube Live - BristowRating: 5 out of 5

It was wonderful! Was so grateful to see them perform. Loved the graphics which added but didn't take away from the performance. I really appreciated that the large screens simply showed close ups of the Dixie Chicks as they performed. I don't need to see light displays on those screens, just want to see what I can't see because I'm not up close.

  • Dixie Chics were fantastic

by Twosteping on 6/28/16Jiffy Lube Live - BristowRating: 5 out of 5

Very classy respectable show. The sound was perfect no distortion. They played non stop for two hours and we were on our feet the whole show.

  • From Dixie

by Anonymous on 6/28/16Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The Ladies put on a fine show with their performance and videos in Toronto. The crowd got into it and so did the Chicks.

  • The Chicks Rock!

by Sammeal on 6/27/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

Even after 10 years away, these ladies are something special to see live!

  • Great music, lousy venue.

    by Hetty2 on 6/27/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 3 out of 5

The Dixie Chicks were great and sounded awesome. I have attended many, many concerts at Hershey but this one...the rain delay was unavoidable, but the lack of announcements or any information was ridiculous. It was painfully crowded underneath the stands and guests were getting more and more obnoxious the longer we waited. It was not safe and security was invisible.

  • MMXVI

by Clamtown on 6/27/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

As expected, the Dixie Chicks put on a great show. If you get a chance to see them, I highly recommend.

  • It was OK but disappointing also

    by RoniC2013 on 6/27/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 2 out of 5

Despite the show starting late from a freak 45 minute rainstorm, I was hoping that with the delay causing time constraints on the night's events, that only the Chicks would come out and not the opening acts. I WAS happy that we seemed to get the entire DCX show as I had hoped. The show started nice but several songs later, I was still trying to recognize some (apparently) new songs and needless to say, I was contemplating leaving but I stayed to give them a chance. They ultimately did play a few recognizable songs including a few cover songs including the dedication to Prince. A BIG disappointment to me was that they seem to have to ruin their own show by inserting their political views----I GET it girls----we ALLLL have opinions but honestly, A LOT of people who come to see you really don't care. That just put me over the edge of trying to salvage some positive thoughts of the show. Maybe stick to just entertaining the people with the music they WANT to hear (like Garth Brooks does, and VERY SUCCESSFULLY) would be the best way to go for older musicians trying to make some sort of comeback. If you are in the entertainment business, stick to being neutral and give the people what they want. I got a little bit of entertainment but I was pretty underwhelmed by the show as a whole. I don't care what anyone else has to say as this is MY review and MY opinion and whether you agree or not, it is what it is! I will stick to listening to their old songs on Spotify choosing what I want to hear in the form of music, and without political crap.

  • Ten Years After?

by BillJane on 6/27/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 2 out of 5

I was really looking forward to this show. Unfortunately, it felt forced and distant from a performer perspective. I question whether there was a sound check, as the OVERWHELMING bass from the sound system muddied the vocals on every song. There is no need to blow out the audience. I had tickets in the 6th row and it was painful to be sitting this close. If the performers went into the crowd and heard this prior, I cannot imagine that one would want this kind of distortion, especially for a band known for it's vocalizing. the show really felt like it was phoned in. I wont need to see them play again.

  • Chicks were awesome!

    by 50PJ on 6/27/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was absolutely awesome. They have been missed. Vocals and instrumentation were superb. The venue left much to be desired. There were NO provisions made for the handicapped. And there were NO provisions to help us.

  • Love DCX!!

    by Nic613 on 6/27/16Hersheypark Stadium - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

The Dixie Chicks were awesome! The playlist was great! I might even try to catch them again this summer! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!! What a great way to celebrate my birthday!

  • Awesome

    by Kim0829 on 6/25/16Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

One word...Awesome. Okay a couple more. They entertained us for 2 hours and 10 minutes. The worked hard and the crowd loved it. I would see this concert again!

  • Worst sound ever.

by msberg on 6/25/16Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Great performances ruined by absolutely horrible sound, The lyrics were incomprehensible, there was no sense of dynamics, mix was just mush (is that a guitar solo, or fiddle? Oh, it's the banjo), overpowering kick drum (apparently fed directly into the subwoofer arrays. Loud, loud, loud (Peaked at over 120dB!). About me: 38 years FOH Broadway sound mixer.

  • Worth the Wait!

    by CincyGirl74 on 6/23/16Riverbend Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

I was just a poor college girl when the Chicks were last on tour, so I was beyond ecstatic to hear they were opening in Cincinnati for this tour's US leg. It was worth the wait! So many hits! Such amazing talent! Will go again if they circle back!! =)
