About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

I took my 13 year old Granddaughter. This was her first concert and we had a blast!! The Chicks were amazing, they haven't lost a beat!! This was the perfect introduction for her to what a great concert should be!!

  • Fantastic show

by Cheri on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful show!!!!! Music was the best. Visuals were exciting at times and brought me to tears at other times. The Chics are fearless and that's one of the many reasons to love them

  • Chicks are fantastic!

by Mswucy on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks put on a great show! Loved how they added in for what they believe in! They were still rocking it after all these years!

  • Earl will forever be in the trunk!

    by G. B. on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

“Fly” was one of the first CDs I got when I received a Walkman CD player for Christmas one year. As a kid I would make my parents watch my rendition of the songs on that album over and over. I’ve been a fan ever since, but seeing them live made me feel like a kid all over again. I laughed, cried, and sat in AWE of them while on stage even when they played their new music (cuz we all know we don’t go to concerts for the new stuff, lol). These ladies and their band put on a hell of a show and I haven’t stopped listening to “Gaslighter” since I left. BRAVA, ladies!

  • Music not Views

by Cricket on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Let’s just keep it to great music and not your views or thoughts. Unfortunately I won’t go see another concert from the Dixie Chicks. Your personal opinion needs to be left off the stage. Do better

  • Just so amazing

by CDK on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was one one of the best concerts we’ve ever been to, from the opening act to the female-centric videos during the break, to The Chicks performance itself. They were phenomenal in their music, but they were also witty, and their sly political digs were on point. We enjoyed every second!

  • Good til political views got in the way

by Can’t we leave politics out of this on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 2 out of 5

I am not liberal. I don’t like to be pushed liberal views. I like 90s Dixie Chicks when every celebrity didn’t think people cared about their political views. I was really hoping the Chicks would leave it to Wide Open Spaces and Goodbye Earl but that didn’t happen. I knew their views already but gave the benefit of the doubt that they might just do what we paid for and sing songs. I’m a believer that we can all have our own views without having to share them in every aspect of our lives. I had a great time reliving my preteen year belting out their songs until they brought up politics. At that point I regretted every cent of the $180 I spent on the ticket.

  • Phenomenal!

by RockyTopBoys on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The (Dixie) Chicks never disappoint. High energy and overall phenomenal show. This was the 3rd time to see them and always will come back. Thanks for a great time Natalie, Emily and Martie.

  • Fantastic Show

    by eljay996 on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks put on a memorable show! There was not one song they didn’t do. Their harmonies are so tight! If you have the chance to see them, go!

  • The Chicks are simply the best

by Sven on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks are without a doubt the most talented group ever assembled. They never miss a beat and are undeniably the best entertainers you will ever see. That being said, don't see them at Merriweather Post Pavilion. The sound and acoustics here are horrific. The bass is overwhelming and the clarity of the different instruments is the worst you will find anywhere. You couldn't even understand a spoken word, let alone understand a word in a song. Final note, see the Chicks just not at MPP.

  • Incredible concert

by Rachel on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a long time fan of The Chicks - always devoured their albums upon release starting with Wide Open Spaces back in the late 90s. Despite being such a fan though, and knowing all of their songs by heart, I never saw them live until last year. SO glad I did. I live very close to Merriweather, so when I learned they were coming this year, I had to see them again. They put on a phenomenal show. The talent, song-selection, screen displays, and showmanship are all superb. I will continue to see them from now on every time they are in the area!

  • Excellent concert

by EF on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks concert was so fun! Loved every minute of it! We had an amazing GNO!!

  • Beyond incredible

by Wyldbyl on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

Openers Wild Rivers were a pleasant surprise—thoroughly enjoyed their set! The Chicks were on fire. The stage setting, the huge lighting/video screens and sound were sheer perfection. These ladies wreak with talent. The show was amazing from beginning to end. Will definitely see them again!

  • Phenominal Concert, thanks Chicks

by Neen Maria on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

From the friendly police organizing parking, to the drink servers, to the ambiance of venue, to the amazing band, THE CHICKS was an unforgettable experience! Just a cathartic, magical, unifying experience. The best food item was, sadly, a pickle. Please consider starting over in this regard. No gluten option. Fries tasted like cardboard.
