About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • The Chicks are amazing!!!

    by T-mom on 9/24/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Saw these women in Kansas City…it was every single thing I was expecting and way more!!! Too political? Nope! It was perfect! People know the history of this group. This group has always been somewhat “political.” It’s called conviction. And.. I’m sorry but no, it wasn’t just country-music loving conservative republicans who made these ladies famous. Even after the controversy, The chicks swept the Grammy’s in 2007 with their response to being “erased”, winning record of the year, song of the year, best country song of the year by a duo or group with vocals for “Not Ready to Make Nice, and, best album and best country album of the year for “Taking the Long Way Around.” These ladies are still here, making waves, and making incredible music and they still pulling in generations of new fans. That’s called relevance and that’s called talent. Their success has nothing to do with whatever “political party” “made them”. I love Gaslighter. Love the entire album. I’m already anxiously waiting for these incredible ladies to make some new music, and even more ready for them to tour again. Well done Martie, Emily, and Natalie. Well done!

  • The Chicks

by Me on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

They were amazing. They put on a great show. It was pure energy from start to finish.

  • Not what I expected

by Old Lady T on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 2 out of 5

The graphics were really offensive, and over the top. You can have a concert without going overboard with political opinions. The 45 min wait between the opener and headliner is too much. By the time they came on, I was ready to leave. It didn’t take 45 min to change the sets, and it was a bit snarky.

  • Extremely loud

by Ej on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Extremely too loud. You could not hear the words to the music. Did not like the politics on screen or off!!! Keep this to yourself. It’s s concert!!!! Waited nearly an hour after opening band before chicks came. I didn’t pay to sit and wait. Extremely talented ladies and band. Yes, I love the Chicks music.

  • Good show

by Barb on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 3 out of 5

The show was really good. However, the music was so loud you couldn't really hear the voices singing

  • My daughter and I had the absolute best time!!

by Kayla on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

My daughter and I have “car concerts” to the chicks songs all the time. She stated it was like a fever dream to do it in real life!!! Thanks for helping me make core memories with her! I’ve always been and fan since I was a kid as well! ❤️

  • Best summer night ever

by Rose on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks surpassed my expectations with all their singing, and musical instrument playing. The staff at Merriweather Post were excellent from our parking to our seats. Great venue, great performance, great weather= perfect Maryland evening.

  • Wow!

by Kimberkat on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Truly great show. The audience and the performers had great energy.

  • Amazing

    by Beef718 on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best concerts I have been to, they sounded amazing and had a great energy.

  • True to themselves and I love it!

by Frusa on 9/24/23Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

What a show! I saw them at Merriweather in Columbia MD. They gave everything they have: Oldies and obviously goodies, their new album which is the soundtrack to so many of our marriages, political commentary (and if you don’t like it, what the heck are you doing at a Chicks concert?) and their Patty Griffin covers. The band remains awesome, Natalie’s voice is better than ever, Emily and Martie are amazing musicians. I also loved Natalie’s little dances during songs. It was all better than good and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

  • Too political

by CB on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 1 out of 5

If they would have stuck to singing mucus instead of trying to force political views down my throat, I would have loved it. While I understand the importance of singing their newer music, most of their #1 hits weren’t played, which I was looking forward too.

  • Wonderful concert

by Melanie on 9/24/23T-Mobile Center - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

I am a long time fan of the Chicks and loved seeing them in concert. I had amazing seats and loved being so close to the stage. I loved hearing all of their old and new music. It was such an amazing experience to see them live. So thankful to have been there! They are so talented!

  • Disappointing

by Erin on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 1 out of 5

The Dixie Chicks concert was definitely nothing more than a left wing political rally. They played very few of their hits. Overall do not recommend and would never give them another dime of my money. There’s a good reason why you never hear of them anymore.

  • The Chicks never disappoint!!

by Missyjo on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show! Great mix of old and new hits. The lighting, graphics, and overall experience were perfect as well. For those complaining about the “politics” of the performance- were you living under a rock before the show? The Chicks have been very obvious about not hiding what they support and believe. I will never miss a chance to be in the presence of Natalie, Marti, and Emily!

  • These gals ROCK!

by Mo on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Enjoyed the concert and they were worth the reschedule!!

  • Not worth it

by Amber on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 2 out of 5

The Chicks sounded great but they sang lots of songs no one knew. They didn’t sing hits like There’s your trouble and teased with a snippet of long time gone. The new stuff and covers were political and depressing. It did not make for a good time. The crowd was sitting more than they were on their feet.

  • Not pleased: won’t be going back

by Madison on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 1 out of 5

I was really looking forward to singing my heart out to The Chicks greatest hits songs- unfortunately they sang many more songs from their new album and made the entire concert very political. Most of us come to concerts to leave the world behind and enjoy a few hours without having to think about it and I really wish we had gotten to do that. Would not recommend and not be back at another Chicks concerts.

  • Awesome

by Crickett on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

At first I was a bit concerned however by the second song I knew they were back and even better!! Three amazing women putting out wickedly good songs and vibes. Welcome back girls!! I love you all ❤️❤️

  • Always an amazing show

    by L. W. on 9/24/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Love love a Chicks show. Amazing musicians and performers. Now I get to share the experience with my daughter.

  • THE BEST NIGHT

by Kendra on 9/24/23Food City Center - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Hands down one of the best concerts I have been too! The ONLY thing that could have been better would have been to hear "There's your trouble"but it's okay because I jammed to it after we left lol
