About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • Worth the wait

by Joeyjojo on 6/8/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Few groups are as polarizing as the Dixie Chicks and being a guy it's even harder to explain why I like them so much. After this concert I like them even more. They played everything I wanted to hear (except "There's your trouble", but you're forgiven) including "Everybody knows" and "Easy Silence". I sincerely had goosebumps most of the show. They were just phenomenal the entire night. I never wanted it to end. If you don't like the chicks, I'm probably not going to change your mind, but it you like them, you will love them after seeing them live. Even when it started to rain during "Cowboy take me away" it couldn't dampen the energy. Well done.

  • Chicks are back and better than ever!!!

The vocals and musicianship of the Dixie Chicks is hands down the best! They are at the top of their game. The crowds energy was fantastic. What a great show!!!

  • Dixie Chicks ROCK!

by lives2dnce on 6/8/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was amazing, perfect night for being outdoors. Lighting and special effects, WOW. Music even better. Dixie Chicks were awesome! Acoustics left something to be desired, but they were still great. We had great seats, right in the middle,, main floor. A big hassle to get out of the parking lot, but nothing we couldn't handle. Glad we were sitting in the reserved seats, since it rained briefly. Food prices, outrageous. $13.50 for a beer, seriously?

Simply stated, amazing show. One would not realize it's been 10 years, the addition of amazing covers satisfied the new music we are all craving. Hopefully a new album is not far behind. So talented, so amazing, so cool. Best Live show in a long time.

  • Great Live Show

by OldZepster1 on 6/8/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. Augustana was a great opener! HC Amiptheatre should let public know that there are seceral seats per row that have partial views of the stage. $100.00 tickets to see half the stage puts a dent in the overall experience. Larger video screens would also help.

  • chicks awesome

seats not made for wide asses, all patrons stood entire show sucked for all the old people that couldn't stand that long, a lot of video effects.

The Chicks were and continue to be nothing less than awesome. The backdrops to their music truly enhanced their songs. It's a must go. Do it and enjoy. We had 3 generations of Dicue Chicks fans in our small group. Grandma, Daughter, and Granddaughter. ❤️

  • The Chx were amazing!

I've always liked their music but had no idea how talented they are. The music was fantastic. The only downside was that the sound system wasn't that great and it was hard to hear Natalie Maine's great voice.

They played a great mix of their songs and did a tribute to Prince! They played one new song and I hoping this means a new album will come out! Wow! I have missed the Chicks, so glad they are back!!!

  • Worth the 10 year wait!

by Rocsmom on 6/8/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 3rd time seeing the Dixie Chicks and it was absolutely fantastic, amazing, spectacular, I don't know enough adjectives to describe it. Their set was long and it was fantastic to hear all the songs I LOVE live. Go see it, you won't be disappointed!!

  • I wouldn't go back

by MeggieIU on 6/8/16Riverbend Music Center - CincinnatiRating: 3 out of 5

All though they have amazing talent and that has still held up. They played a bunch a songs that no one in the venue knew and did not keep the crowd engaged. People were leaving early, and upset that they decided to play new songs covers of songs no one knew instead of keep with the old music that we all love and came to see. They end on a song that the crowd was not familiar with so everyone left well they were playing.

  • Horrible

They sounded good but their playlist was horrible!!!! People want to sing and enjoy the show. So play songs that they know!!

  • The Chicks Rocked! Don't miss this great tour!

by Antovir on 6/6/16Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga FallsRating: 5 out of 5

They were amazing! This was by far one of our favorite concerts ever (and we've gone to ALOT of different concerts over the years)! Natalie's voice is as awesome and powerful as ever, we could have watched Martie and Emily play all night, and the rest of the band sounded great. The songs were an excellent mix of their own songs (mostly their hits), along with some great covers and the background visuals were awesome! And there was even a fun moment with exploding confetti! This band is so unique because they hold on to their country roots but incorporate rock and folk to create a special blend of music that can appeal to so many different types of fans. They are so talented in so many ways and are true musicians and music lovers through and through, and if you've never seen them live, you'd better get out there and buy your ticket - you WON"T be disappointed! We can't wait to see them again!!!!!!

The Dixie Chicks are back and better then ever! Get your dancing shoes on and be prepared to be blown away. Natalie,Emily and Martie did not miss a beat. Great cover of Beyonces "Daddy Issues" and played everything from Sin Wagon to Ready to Run to Wide Open Spaces. Just an awesome show.

  • DCX MMXVI at Blossom

by RTMOhio on 6/6/16Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga FallsRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent performance by excellent musicians/performers and backup band. Visuals outstanding and enhanced the performance. The only draw back was our lawn seats. We were surrounded by hundreds of loud, obnoxious people with no interest in the concert, rather only there for their own partying. If you want to listen to the music, buy a seat in the pavilion.

  • by Anonymous on 6/6/16Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga FallsRating: 1 out of 5

played all new songs and one song from previous albums. was wanting more songs from past albums. disappointed in concert and left early. would not recommend going if wanting to hear songs from there better albums.

  • No surprise - the Dixie Chicks' were impressive!!!
