About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • Amazing! 10 years off never sounded so Good!!!

    by WVGirl22 on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the very best concerts I've ever attended. I may be biased cause I'm a huge fan, but I would rank this right up there with Cher!

  • Just so-so

    by LB0831 on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 2 out of 5

I got these tickets for a friend that really liked the Dixie Chicks and while I don't usually listen to them now, I do know a lot of their old songs. However, they hardly played any older songs, mostly new ones that I was unfamiliar with. Their voices are still great sounding.

AMAZING! I didn't want the night to end! Love the Chicks!

  • Great time !

by TracieP on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 4 out of 5

Had a great time, Dixie Chicks sound great live with great visual displays and the venue is one of my favorites from Cleveland to Pittsburgh. Love feeling as if i was sitting in a fun Jam session instead of a rehearsed performance.

  • Not a memorable night.....

by JanieEK on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 3 out of 5

I COULD NOT WAIT FOR THIS CONCERT. To say the least I was disappointed. For days before the concert, I listened and sang along to my CD's and was ready to sing along to the greatest, most successful, girl band ever. The day of the concert, I looked up their set list and was shocked that they were not playing the majority of their own songs. For sure this could not be the truth, but sadly it was. I would think that they could see how the crowed reacted to the playing of their original songs as opposed to the cover songs they played. Come on girls, we love your music and were there to see you play it.

  • Dixie Chicks were fantastic!!

    by karenkc1 on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks still got it! They were energetic, vocally spot on and very entertaining! They played almost all the songs I wanted to hear. Well worth the ticket for a seat!

  • Great Show but could have sounded much better!

    by Benderman57 on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 3 out of 5

I've been to lots & lots of shows at outdoor venues and First Niagara is a great venue to watch & hear a great show. This show looked fantastic without being too over the top with effects. My problem with this show and lots of others anymore is the sound and it particular the LOW END. Way too much power down there so it covers up a lot of the finer things in the sound like how about the VOCALS. If you didn't know the words to some of the songs you sure would not no them afterwards. On many of the upbeat pounding songs the vocals could not be heard or understood. I play music for a living and believe me I get wanting to be powerful and in the moment so I'm no prude when it comes to volume but when there is that much pound and sheer force coming at you it can get very fatiguing to you ears. The acoustic set in the middle of the show was fantastic and still very powerful. If they would have taken that model and pumped it up a little with all the extra stuff in the mix it could have been perfect. The Chicks are just to Damn good to cover up their killer vocals with that much low end!

Too many new songs no one knew and skipped so many of the songs we came to hear. They have been away from the spotlight for too long to play almost all new material.

I only paid $20 for the ticket, so it was worth it, but any more and I don't think I would go

Amazing night of music with the Dixie Chicks!! So proud to be a fan!!!

  • Worst I've Ever Seen Them

by Vanlutz on 6/11/16PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 4 out of 5

Why title it that way? I've followed the Dixie Chicks live since the Fly Tour at Radio City. I flew to the Cotton Bowl (some bowl) in Dallas when Emilie was pregnant, gone to every show in NY/NJ/PA during the Home and Long Way Home tours, and in 2013 drove to Budweiser Stadium in London Canada to see them. Every one of those shows were 5 star AMAZING. This show besides having really poor sound (I was in the front row), none of the Chicks were giving it their all. They were laid back and phoned in their performance. I'd probably have to say it's because the PNC was not sold out, and they do love their stadiums. The videos that played behind them were the high point of the performance. I would recommend seeing the Dixie Chicks because even when they're bored, they have excellent songs. Oh, and fire the drummer. He missed beats and fills like me. That's why I never played drums on a song.

  • They're back

by Rongo on 6/11/16PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show by the Dixie Chicks. A lot of energy in the crowd. You could tell that everyone was happy to see them back. They played a lot from "Taking the Long Way" album (which is my favorite) plus lots of other hits. The stage set and video screen was amazing as well. Love me some DCX.

  • Super Fan

by disappointedatSummerfest on 6/9/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 3 out of 5

Hollywood Casino Amp should not be advertised as Chicago - it's on the Indiana border. Loved seeing them in concert - they sounded and looked amazing!

  • Dixie Chicks Rock!

by NickeyM on 6/9/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 4 out of 5

Vocals and music is top notch. They put on a great show. Most of the show is loud rock n roll, so don't expect some quiet sweet country music. In fact the only criticism is that their backing band is too loud often drowning out the stars. I wish the sound crew would notice this and tone it down and turn up their vocal mics. Overall the Dixie Chicks prove they are true superstars and deserve to be back on top (from where they were unjustly toppled).

  • Looooove the Dixie Chicks!

by Magsmagia on 6/8/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 5 out of 5

I was so excited to find out back in October that the Dixie Chicks were going back out on tour. I went with 4 friends and we couldn't wait for the date to arrive. We had lawn seats and got there super early so we could get a good spot. As usual, the Chicks put on a kick ass show! We loved that they did a tribute to Prince. They sounded absolutely awesome, like they never stopped touring. I hope they will continue to create new music as I cannot get enough of them!

  • Dixie Chicks Better Than Ever!!!

The seats where better than expected! The graphics were out of this world! I am 63 and thought my concert days were over but I am so glad I bought tickets for my daughter and myself. We had a fantastic time! Thank you Dixie Chicks for giving us many more memories to share! Loved every minute of it!

  • Dicie Chicks just ok

Thought they would have played more older songs. Didn't know about 80% of songs. Light show was awesome.

  • Too many covers

by Anonymous on 6/8/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 3 out of 5

I love the Dixie Chicks. There was no well known opening act. They played from 8:15-11p. They played their new songs. They played wide own spaces, ready to make nice, ready to run, cowboy take me away, sin wagon, goodbye Earl, landslide. They covered about five songs...wasn't crazy about the covers...wanted more Dixie Chick songs.
