About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • BORING! DISAPPOINTING!

by lfrash on 6/15/16Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga FallsRating: 1 out of 5

Too many songs that nobody knew!!! I have been to hundreds of concerts and was really disappointed with this one. Sorry Chicks I've been a huge fan but I came prepared to hear ALL your stuff not someone else --especially after the 10 year hiatus.

  • I waited 15yrs for this! Worth the wait!

by Cuke11 on 6/15/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

Very well done! The Chicks are such badass performers - you can tell they put their all into every performance. Great list of songs delivered seemlessly from one to the next.

  • I want a refund

by FavSingerFor16Yrs on 6/15/16DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 1 out of 5

Easily one of the worst shows I have ever been to. The set-list was awful- starting with 4 (or 5) new songs, instead of starting off on a high note. Then they ended the entire show with a cover song. Their complete disconnect from their fan base was shocking. I don't align with any political party, but they certainly didn't learn anything from their debacle in 2003. Natalie looked bored for the first half of the show. I honestly left wondering if they were trolling us, by getting Americans to finally spend money on them again and then delivering a terrible show. If it wasn't on purpose, then their producers need to be fired.

  • Welcome back Dixie Chicks!!

  • The BEST!!!!

    by DCX1FAN on 6/15/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 5 out of 5

It was one of the best concerts I have been to in years and I go to a lot. The crowd was awesome and I was able to go with a diverse group of my friends who all love the Dixie Chicks!!!

  • Hopefully they don't wait 10 more years

by DogDude607 on 6/15/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show, they played for over 2 hours. Well worth the money. Only disappointment was the "VIP" swag bag, it was a water bottle...

  • Dixie Chicks awesome concert!

by TDCmama on 6/14/16Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley ParkRating: 5 out of 5

The Dixie Chicks haven't missed a beat! They sound as good or better than they did 10 years ago!

  • Couldn't keep their momentum up

by Blc7680 on 6/14/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 2 out of 5

Very disappointed. Was super excited to see them after not touring for a very long time! Waited almost 2 hours for them to come on stage and it was like they were just going through the motions. Didn't interact much with the crowd and was very slow to start

  • Dixie Chicks were amazing!

by Taretare on 6/14/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

OMG, amazing show, thank God they got back together and I was able to see it!

  • Amazing show!!

It was a great way to open up the 2016 concert season. Glad I was there and it was a great show by all three bands! Dixie Chicks were amazing and would definitely see them again.

  • Dixie Chicks were awesome

by Hawk1981 on 6/14/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

Great to see them back together. They were and are one of the best and it's great to have them sharing their music and talents with us once again. It's not often that you hope for things to happen and they do....and this is one of those moment.

  • Seen Better

by Triplet82 on 6/14/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 3 out of 5

Saw Dixie Chicks 14 or so years ago, just after their political downfall. Walked away from that 2 hour show and said it was the best concert I've seen. Not so much this time. Could have done without the first set of songs. I do appreciate the fact that even though the audience was signing along to their old hits, Natalie continued belting it out. I hate when musicians let the audience takeover and I have to listen to just the audience sing.

  • Incredible!

by smhazel911 on 6/14/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

The Dixie Chicks sound great maybe even better than they did 10 years ago. I loved every second of it. Loved the minimal set and the graphics were spot on. If I could travel the summer following this tour I would.

  • Meh

by supertara2 on 6/14/16Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga SpringsRating: 3 out of 5

I was hoping to hear a lot more familiar songs from their earlier albums, rather than what they played. Several songs I'd never even heard and I'm a big chicks fan. :/

  • Dixie Chicks were awesome!

by Anonymous on 6/14/16PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 5 out of 5

Being away for ten years hasn't changed anything about these women. Their performance was amazing!!!! Would see them again if I had a chance.

  • Not Enough Dixie Chicks We Know and Love!

    by Catherineo79 on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 2 out of 5

The title says it all. There were only 6 songs at the most from their previous CDs. I was very disappointed in the overall concert. I love the Dixie Chicks and hope they will continue to tour but I will definitely check out the set list before I buy a ticket. Please give your fans what they want!!

Best concert ever!!! Still as amazing as ever!!!!!

  • A good time for Dixies and Yankees alike!

by KCJL on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 5 out of 5

The Dixie Chicks became my favorite band when Natalie expressed her disapproval of President Bush' invasion of Iraq. Unable to see them closer to home, I thought it would be worth "Taking the long way" to see them via a 4 hour drive, and I was right! First Niagara accommodated my guest and I with parking, seating, and interpreting. Everyone was "Ready to make nice" and we couldn't have felt more wecome! Thank you all for a wonderful night!!!

  • Dixie Chix Rock

    by Pinky59 on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 5 out of 5

Great Concert. They played all their standards. I loved all the new music to.

  • Chicks are back and as badass as ever!

by Natsintreble on 6/13/16First Niagara Pavilion - BurgettstownRating: 5 out of 5

Every summer I go to as many concerts as possible and I love outdoor music. I have never seen the Dixie Chicks before. Their show was amazing. The beautiful lighting design and graphics in the background were stunning and in some cases very movinf. Natalie's voice sounds healthy and strong. Marti and Emily played with such passion and all three seemed so happy to be on stage. Their level of musicianship could teach many other touring groups a thing or two. A new bluegrass tune, fun cover of Beyonce, awesome tribute to Motorhead, and their version of a Prince song were just some of the amazing musical moments of the evening. I love their absolutely unapologetic approach to writing, performing, and existing. Get to this show!
