  • Worlds best musical

    by Pipkim15 on 9/8/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This is the best musical I have ever seen. It had you laughing so much that it hurt. The only play that had you laughing from one scene into another. Amazing job Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

  • Mormon lives up to the hype!

by realtormike on 9/8/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This original creation not only lives up to but goes beyond the hype. From the very beginning, the high energy show never let's up. The cast is first rate, led by Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner who were both awesome. Loved the staging, the dancing, the music and the humor. This is what I call entertainment. A production I could enjoy again!

  • Latter Day Laughs

    by MusicFan669 on 9/8/12The Pantages - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I didn't exactly know what to expect and if I had tried to guess, I would have been wrong. The Book of Mormon entertained on so many levels... from giving some insight to the basic tenets to the creative and hilarious musical numbers. From beginning to the happy ending, this satire had a heart. While I do not condone poking fun at anyone's faith, I'm not so sure the Latter Day Saints will mind the publicity this little marvel might send their way. I'm sure it will help Mr. Romey explain his life's journey just a little bit to the everyman.

  • The Best!!!!

by sandyrk on 9/8/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Can't believe how much we enjoyed this show! Sneakily subversive and so good natured! Very fast paced, fabulous music. Musical theater is alive and well.

  • Blasphemously hilarious!

    by Unclemike666 on 9/8/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This just might have been the best show I've ever seen. The songs were hilarious, the dancing fantastic, the sets, the costumes, all of it so incredibly good. Every single performer was terrific. If you can still get tickets, go go go.

  • Book of Mormon is stupendous!

by Anonymous on 9/8/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

It is now clear why the musical The Book of Mormon won nine Tony awards. It is so well crafted and performed. Get yourself to the theater to see this amazing musical.

  • Good, not all its hyped to be

by SavvyConsumer on 9/8/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

The first act was excellent--very original, creative. The second act I thought became rather formulaic in the story resolution,, and lacked in the creativity exhibited in the first act. Excellent performances...strong, energetic. I thought the crude humor went a bit TOO far in the second act, and started to rely on the crudeness of an ongoing joke for laughs a bit too much

  • The Musical is alive and relevant.

by Patroclus on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I am utterly amazed at how much professional performers have to give; and the cast in BoM made me feel as if they were performing just for me. There were astonishing solo moments, but it's an ensemble show and the ensemble is uniformly good, at times terrific. While the language is often profane, at times gratuitously so, it's also funny, clever, and intelligent. The book has something to say and it says it with style, warmth, and humor. I also felt like the writers of the show respect musical theater history and that this show was a little like a love song, a tribute to it. It's not this big self-conscious egotistical statement about being cool; it's about being good. I'm not a Mormon, but I don't happen to feel that this show laughed at them as much as it invited us to laugh with them, and the enormous amount of faith required to subscribe to almost any religion. It was a wonderful evening that I will recall often.

I thought the show was brilliant! Clever, smart, and hilarious. So well written.

  • Fun with filth and flarn

    by BadPenny2 on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Highly recommended - as with all of Matt and Trey's work, you need a high tolerance for four-letter words, but the show has amazing singing, dancing and production values. GO SEE IT!!

  • Funny. Very Funny.

  • You HAVE to See This While You Still Can!

by Dexy on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The Book of Mormon is a perfect musical. The music is excellent. The lyrics are hilarious. The direction, choreography, lighting are fantastic. The acting is superb. You will not regret going to this show but you will certainly regret missing it. Personal Suggestion: Avoid listening to the music beforehand. You'll love seeing it all brand new for the first time on stage.

  • Hilarious....and the music was great!

by NotMormon on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Most ages high school and over I'd say are fine. If you aren't offended easily you'll love this show.

  • i believe!

by MzMarna on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

awesome as expected. touring company was spot on! so great that they had to wait for the applause to die down before they could say their lines. perfect performance and other than the sound system at the pantages, it was as good as the original NYC production!

  • Laughed so hard I cried

by Fiyero on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Crude, rude, disgusting, insulting and totally a great evening. Wow! Unbelievably funny and even a little message right before the end. I would recommend it to all but I can't imagine Mitt Romney would get a kick out of it. Christians that love bashing other religions will love it though. All in all very well done and a typical Parker and Stone story with fabulous music. Hasa Diga Eebowai!

  • The Book of Mormon was Excellent !

by ArturoQ on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

It's definitely The Best Comedy on Broadway of 2012. If you do not have a sense of humor you will get one in this play.

  • Can't put it into words

    by dukenuk12 on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I can't do this show justice by reviewing it -- it's THAT good! I will say I would recommend, if you know NOTHING about this show, KEEP IT THAT WAY. Let the show shower you with surprise and suspense. SO AMAZING and you will NOT regret it!

  • by Anonymous on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The best new musical I've seen in years! The cast is top-notch in this touring company - they make the already-solid show shine even brighter. The South Park writers and the rest of the creative team have made a classic Broadway show with some very bawdy humor. It was definitely worth the ticket price! Your straight boyfriend will actually enjoy this musical. Note for parents: if you would let your children watch South Park, then they can come see the show with you. Otherwise, find a babysitter and make this an adult-only evening.

  • Hilarious

by Eliodora on 9/7/12Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This is the best musical I've seen in a while! It's beautifully staged and the songs are hilarious. Go see it!
