    Great concert, serious venue problems

by Meshuggah on 10/13/21Irving Plaza - New York

Firstly, the concert was amazing. This review is about the new Irving Plaza. I spent extra money to be in the balcony...unfortunately, that only includes the left side, where the rail was already filled so I had no space to stand where I could see the stage. The rest of the balcony charges an additional $50/55/65 for the privilege. Also bought a pass to their new lounge, where "if you don't want to be on your feet for 5 hours, you can watch the event on our screens." Decided to watch Carnifex here....but the sound system absolutely sucks and they had it turned all the way down....I lasted 2 songs then went up to the venue (where the balcony was useless).

    Not a good time

by Ld on 10/8/21Saint Andrew's Hall - Detroit

Let me start by saying that The Black Dahlia Murder sounded ok from what i heard and looked like they were putting on a good show from what i could see. The only band that got a hood sound mix was Rivers of Nihil, undeath might have had a good mix but i thouggt they sucked on youtube so who knows. The venue (st andrews hall detroit) claimed that they were selling at reduced capacity, but that place was packed to the rafters. The balcony was full, the floor was full and there were people downstairs watching on the projection screen. If i wasnt concerned about covid due to having a young unvaccinated child none of that would be that big of a deal, but as i do i watched the show from either the entrance or the downstairs bar whichever allowed me to get a little room between me and the next person. They did check proof of vaccine in the fast pass line but i doubt they did for the ga line since doors opened over an hour late.

    Fun

    by M on 10/8/21Saint Andrew's Hall - Detroit

First time ever being at St. Andrews Hall and it was a bummer that the doors were suppose to open at 6pm and we didn't get in until a little after 8 due to some technical difficulties, but I loved how they went through the line prior to entrance to check for either negative covid test or vaccinated for covid. Which then they stamped your hand for entry. Scanning tickets and getting through the metal detectors was a breeze also. Overall friendly staff. Loved how quickly the line moved to get a drink also. Longest line was standing in waiting to get something from the Merchant stand, but well worth the wait. The concert was badass. I LOVED how everyone on stage helped everyone out for the next set probably the most well put together and team work dedication i have ever seen from not only band members, but by the crew. If I could give more than a 5 star rating I would

    Wall of Sound

by The Black Dahlia Murder Victim on 10/5/21Roxian Theatre - Pittsburgh

This band's melodic death metal is like the Silver Streak train and your ears are the Chicago rail station it obliterates. If that reference is too old for you just know The Black Dahlia Murder puts on an excellent show that you should see if you are any kind of fan of death metal. The lineup also consisted of After the Burial, Rivers of Nihil, Carnifex and Undeath. Whomever thought up that lineup deserves a raise.

Too bad the water was so expensive

by Tom on 10/4/21Baltimore Soundstage - Baltimore

I absolutely loved everything about the show. The bands’ stage presence was awesome and it was a dream to see my favorite band in person. The only complaint I have is that the water bottles cost $3.00, like that’s pretty absurd for a natural resource, right?

    Great Place

by David on 10/3/21Baltimore Soundstage - Baltimore

Not a huge place but that was the only issue I had. The sound from the bands that were playing was phenomenal. I didn't drink but there were multiple bars that you could get drinks from.

Loved the venue, Belasco theater. Old gothic theater with lots of spooky character. The show was great.!! Highlight was After the Burial still playing the show without their singer.!! How metal is that ish.?

Saw 5 metal bands. One of the first concerts I’ve been to post-vaccination. All bands put on a great show, and the sound was on point for all of them
