The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.
Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.

As the great Pittsburgh Penguins play by play Mike Lange would say "Shame on you for six weeks if you missed this one!" The Crowes are a definite testimony to the rock and roll era gone by. In my humble opinion, they do 1975 better than most of the bands that actually played around that time....all the while being as current as any of the new bands coming out today. Chris Robinson is a meld of all of the great front men from our rock and roll past.....think Mick Jagger, Robert Plant, Paul Rodgers and quite a few others, all rolled into one helluva soulful presence and voice ! Along with Rich Robinson, Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi All Star's fame, create a monumental one two punch of pickin and slidin the best this side of Dickey and Duane that one could ever pray for in rock & roll heaven !! I do now truly believe that Rock and Roll will never die !!!!
What more can I say....it was awesome. Every time they get on stage it's more and more amazing. This was my 48th show and I plan on making that number even higher!
The Black Crowes put on a rocken show. Only disappointment was they didn't play more old stuff. Would have love to have heard She talks to angels or Hard to handle.
Great show. Haven't been to a concert in a while, glad I chose this one. They can rock the house.
i saw them at the palace theater in albany in 2000 (ish) and it was way more rocking! but this was still good. nice venue and pretty good energy. long ass lines for beer though!
Best touring band today. The Crowes offer the most diversity from night to night. The energy and the fun that they have on stage is palpable and contagious.
The venue was poor but the show was good! Levon had no voice and didn't even speak but they managed to put on a good show anyhow. The Crowes are a great band and put on a good show. The venue sucks. The Station Square Amphiteatre doesn't compare to Star Lake at all. You have a choice of standing on pavement in front of your crappy seat or just stand on pavement. The Crowes make it all worth it though. Hope to see them in a better place in the future.
To know that he played in The Band is awesome. He's a lot older and not in good health, but he still rocked!! He was all smiles during the night and loved when the audience took his photo. He was a gracious showman... a real legend! My first time seeing the Black Crowes. I'm not as familiar with their music but they put on a great show also. The Amphitheater is a great venue for concerts. Outdoors, very open, lots of places to buy drinks and food.
I have been Lucky enuff to see the Crowes a number of times, and heard a bunch of different sets... They just seem to make a song you may have heard a miilion times before, sound new.. The vibe on the first nite was great, smaller crowd.. They did a lot of deep cuts.. The second nite the encore of the "Bands", " Don't do it" was amazing!!! I like seeing them as well as other bands at the Casino, one of the main reason is the connection you have with the band, in such a close setting.. Reminds me of the bars and small clubs in Boston during the late 80's and ninetys.. I look forward to patronizing the Casino again this summer .. Mesh.
The Black Crowes are a band I have wanted to see for years. I was pumped to go see them finally. I was disapointed in the fact that I only recognized about 3 - 4 songs. Don't get me wrong they did a great job and sounded great, its just I wanted to hear all the hits. If they played more hits I might have easily given this show 5 stars. GREAT VENUE/ GREAT BAND.
I've never been to a bad Crowes show, but this one was exceptional. We traveled almost 800 miles one way just to go to this show, and would do it again in a heartbeat. We stayed at The Beau Rivage for a couple of days which was incredible. Great room, great food and you can't beat an elevator ride to the show. The venue was small and sounded great. It was a prime setting to feel the vibe of the band. Every show is a memorable experience and this night was no exception.
I have been to alot of Crowes shows and it is hard to pick the best one, because not one show was like the other! This show at Hampton Beach was at the top of the list. If you were there, you know the band just connected that night in their own cosmic way! It's nice to know that the type of music that can only be made from a place called soul, is still alive and well!
Black Crowes were absolutely outstanding last night in Pittsburgh. One of the better shows I've ever seen, and really showed off their talent as musicians. The venue was nice as well and everything was close to the stage. If you get a chance to see them, do yourself a favor and do it!
Best Black Crowes show i've seen since 05 I was on Luthers side what a player. It was my sons 1st Crowes show.
I am an avid Black Crowes fan and see them multiple times a year. This particular show was one of the best ever! The setlist was surprising and great for the true fan! The jams were right on and the new keyboardist was incredible! The biggest surprise of the evening was how great the Levon Helm band was! I'll be purchasing his new cd!
My husband and I have been going to see The Black Crowes together for 13 years. They sound awesome again and look great! Can't wait to see them again! The Hampton Casino is a great place to see your favorite bands. We'll be back for sure.
The Black Crowes played a phenomenal show at the Hampton Beach Casino on June 18th! The event was general admission and my husband and I arrived early and got up close to the stage. The band's energy was magnetic from the time they stepped onto the stage. Chris is an outstanding front man. The set list was awesome and we had the best time rocking out to the show (as you could tell the band did as well)! The only downside was the sound system seemed to be a bit off. I am not sure if it was because we were so close to the stage or not. Other than that it was an unforgettable show and by far the best concert I have ever been to. If you are even remotely a fan of the Crowes, you need to see them live to truly experience their power, they will soon become your favorite band as they are mine!
Worth flying cross country to see. A classic show with many new riffs on old classics. great venue.
The show was simply amazing. They only played 2 or 3 top 40 type songs, but it was in credible for 3 hours
