About

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.

Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.

black crowes rocked, grooved, and jammed

by markjazzbassist on 7/14/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

An evening with the Black Crowes turned into a great show. They played for 2 hours with a break in between the 2 sets. Playing mostly newer songs they rocked jammed and grooved the place and got the crowd into it. Amazing Guitar solos and keys as well. Amazing show!

    Love the Crowes

by EJT71 on 7/14/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

To me, the Crowes can do no wrong. I really love their attitude and new (and old) songs. If you want to hear studio album versons, you will have to listen to the singles because this isn't your 90's Black Crowes. 5 STARS!

    LOVE THE CROWES

by Jajf34 on 7/13/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

I have seen them 15 times.....even once with Jimmy Page. This show was the best by far! The VooDoo Lounge is such an intimate venue. I was right within arms distance of Chris and Rich Robinson. The version of My Morning Song was incredible! I had also never heard She Talks to Angels live before.....so that was amazing as well! To the fan who wanted a setlist of their best hits....the show was probably a disapooinment aas they did not do Jealous, Remedy, or a Thorn in My Pride. But to the real hardcore fan....it was AMAZING!

    We want Morica!

by Shelbstock on 7/12/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

The Crowes again put on a solid and refreshing evening with. I do believe that Luther has fully taken command of my favorite guitar player of all time. His sound is so unique, and blends like chocolate syrup with the effortless mastery in which Rich Robinson provides. They ended with Bob Marley! LOVED IT!

    Black Crowes Still Deliver

by Jealous64118 on 7/12/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

The Crowes take the stage, and after seventeen years of catching them live, they still bring a smile to my face. With an ever changing and evolving set list you never know what you are going to get; one thing is for sure the show is never a disappointment. They choose songs that take you through time; songs that transcend time. They have such a large body of music that two hours are just not enough for them to play everything a person could want to hear. However, you leave satisfied just because they played, and you got to be there. Their choice of intimate venues allows for the true Crowes experience. The Voodoo Lounge has a capacity of around 1,300 people; no matter where you are in the lounge you have a good space to experience the show. Bartenders, security and supports staff were wonderful.

The Black Crowes had lots of ENERGY on stage!!

by LLLr on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

This was my first time @ a musical event @ Harrah's Voodoo Lounge. I give the facility itself a 5-star rating! Awesome! Not a bad seat in the house! The Black Crowes had unbelievable energy in their performance. They played for over 2 hours and were quite entertaining. My only disappointment was they didn't play a couple of their "older" hits from "Shake Your Money Maker" that I would've LOVED to hear and expected them to do -- at least during the encore. The main ones I missed that I wish were played were "Jealous Again" & "Hard to Handle". But overall, it was a good concert!

The Black Crowes are always a great show.

by Shaggy on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

I ate some mushrooms and fell in love with the Black Crowes all over again. What was stellar with these cats is their ability to jam out and never seem boring. Much like the Allman Bros. It was a killer show and the setlist was fresh and not just the hits. Very entertaining and Chris is such a showman! Thanks guys, please come back to KC asap.

by Jughead on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

Great show. Hopefully this will be out on CD soon since it was recorded. The dueling guitars were awesome. Steve Gorman is always solid on the skins.

    Awesome show!

by kpete on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

I attend a lot of concerts and I have to say that this one ranks at the top for overall sound quality. The band was perfect. The music and vocals were spot-on. The mix was great. They couldn't have sounded better. And the band played nearly two hours non-stop and only took a couple of minutes before the encore. Awesome show!

    Black Crowes are hot.

by indemom on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

Gotta say, they can still rock the house. The album Warpaint is great and the set list for this concert was a nice mix of old and new. Great playing from a great live band, it's seldom that a band sounds as good live as in the studio but they do a fine job. I was a little disappointed in the venue as many in the crowd didn't seem to know they were there to see a live band and not just get drunk and make a love connection. I came to listen to some great music and I got an earful of barfly through much of it. I thought it would be a little difficult to have a conversation at such a volume but my neighbors did, which was a little disappointing. Even with the distraction, a great show.

You could tell they were having fun!

by spingin on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

This is the 4th time I've seen the Crowes, and this was a memorable one. I've learned that you never know what you are get when they come to town. Last night, you could tell that the band was having fun and the crowd was loving it. At one point, Chris looked back at the backup singers and laughed as he mimicked their dance moves. My favorite part of the night was the encore when they played "She Talks to Angels", one of my favorites. This band is just so amazing live, I have made a promise to myself to see them everytime they come to town. I HIGHLY recommend you see them live.

    Awesome

by JoeKewl on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

The Black Crowes are back! Saw them almost a year ago to the date at the same venue and it was much better than last year. Seems like they have their groove again. While the loss of their original guitar player hampered them last year, this year the new guitarist added a shot of life into their performance. The Crowes have picked up a bit of the jam band vibe and it suits them well.

    VooDoo Rocks, Crowes Rocked More!

by TicketViper on 7/10/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas City

Great Venue for the Crowes! Had private table seats on the rail upstairs, VIP drink service, highly recommend, as the rest of the venue was GA. You guys played a lame Bob Marley tune, instead of Remedy during the encore though! :( Other than that, the show rocked, Crowes were having a good time!
