  • The show was excellent

by Rah on 4/5/24Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

The show was exceptional very talented cast, but the theater needs improvement. It's clean but the bathrooms are way too small and parking lots need improvement as well.

  • Scott Joplin Chamber Orchestra

by I love the Black Academy of Arts and Letters venue on 2/7/24Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

So excited to see our talents in action. Proud that the students were recognized . I know it was difficult to pick a winner. Really enjoyed the orchestra. Just a couple things I thought could be tightened up. All singers should be in the front, middle, rather than behind the lectern, performers should practice and be able to do their songs without the use of written lyrics. We are a talented people equal and beyond our counterparts. When we don't perform at the level we are capable of, we give people a reason to criticize. Dr. Lundy is magnificent and I appreciate her thinking of ways to showcase talent young and senior! Where is Dr. Lundy's viola? Lololol. She shouldn't have to borrow from her son. Lololol. Overall, had a most enjoyable evening. My office was celebrating and recognizing B.H.M. I chose this orchestra outing as our group event.

  • Great show

by Lee on 11/23/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The venue for the show was the good. The show itself was off the chain. Evelyn Jones Reeds, Rahab was a remarkable play and if any other events performed there are even half of what this was I suggest people go there and check out what they have going on.

  • 6TH ANNUAL RIVERFRONT JAZZ FESTIVAL

by HANNAH on 9/5/23Rating: 5 out of 5

This festival was HOT!!!! I had a great time, and there was good food. The Promising Young Artist stage was awesome. I am grateful that I decided to go see the young people in between sets. Great hospitality from the staff and volunteers. Money well spent. I will see you next year and the year after and so on.

by ZeeBee on 8/29/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Mama's Daughters was an excellent stageplay. The storyline was fresh yet familiar. The cast was absolutely phenomenal and the singing was incredible. Moreover the message was important. I would definitely see it again and encourage others as well.

  • Disappointing is saying it mildly

by Ran on 8/15/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Arrived with excitement and departed very disappointed. Doors opened late, show started even later. Many technical difficulties. Audio was horrible, could barely hear the cast. Seemed there was no test or pre-show setting. Couldn't follow the storyline possibly due to the audio situation. Overall this was a very poor production and I feel cheated to have spent the amount of money for such an event. Certainly would not recommend anyone waste your hard earned money to witness this fiasco. This was a huge black eye to the "Black Academy of Arts and Letters"Again, very disappointing!

  • THE WORST

by Keishi on 8/15/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Terrible show! Worst I have ever experienced. 2:00 pm performance started over an hour late, intermission was supposed to be 15 minutes and was over 45 minutes. We missed the 2nd half because we had 5:30 dinner reservations. Acting was just mediocre.

  • Wonderful performance

    by Tracy G. on 6/28/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed the performance of the kids at the Stevie Musical. The talent was outstanding. These kids performed well beyond their years!!! I was only able to attend due to some discounted tickets being offered. I would have paid full price for this performance if I could have. What a blessing to offer culture to those of us who would not experience it otherwise.

  • Stevie Wonder The Musical

Excellent Student Performance! Loved the singing and dancing.
