I wish I could live at this concert. Great show!!! I'm so glad Mustaine was able to play too, would not have been the same without Megadeth.
Awesome show. What an amazing time. ANTHRAX deserved a higher slot than the opening one they were given, but still they did a bang up job. Unfortunately Yankee Stadium was a pretty terrible host to this kind of show. What was the deal with no bottle caps on water?? And with no water fountains (!!!) the price of water was jacked to a whopping $5.50 per bottle. BOO to them!
Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer were all great but the sets were too short. I figured they would play full sets but they didn't and there were no encores by any of them. With the way they worked the set there was no opportunity for them to play any more. Metallica played a long set and they were very good. Their sound was good too. The other bands should have played as loud. Slayers style of music left me wondering what some of the songs were because of the sound. The band was so far away there was that typical baseball field delay between sight and sound. I wanted more of the first 3 bands but was happy with the overall show. I would definately get better seat though!
The show was AMAZING! All 4 bands were on fire and it shined thru all 4 sets. Many friends didn't go because they said it was too expensive, shame on them. Anyone who's followed these bands for the last 30 years as I have and didn't go should NEVER forgive themselves. It was the concert of a lifetime and that's no exageration.
Amazing show! Lighting and sound fantastic!!! Was awesome!
Metalllica Slayer and Anthrax were off the chain Megadeth sounded damn good musically but Dave Mustaine was in no shape to perform after his recent neck surgery though he admirably gutted out a set that was a bit short. If that's not metal and trying to please the fans what is. Wish all the sets were longer but were pretty much standard for the Big 4 shows about an hour for Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer. 2 for Metallica
Terrific concert. Heavy Metal perfection. Great to have all four bands in the same venue. Only Yankee Stadium could host this event in NYC. "Enter Sandman" was great. If only "Mo" could have come in out of the bullpen. Will remember this for a long time.
concert of a lifetime. History was just made. Slayer rules
Great line up and well organized! Slayer and Metallica rocked.
METALLI-BOYS ROCKED. ALL WENT WELL. WEATHER WAS GOOD. TRANSPORTATION INTO AND OUT OF NYC-GREAT! KILLER TIME AND SHOW. WISHED THEY HAD PLAYED: AM I EVIL? TOO!, IN ADDITION TO "OVERKILL"
Overall an excellent concert. Only complaint is the fact that it was a bit crowded at times, but nothing that impacted on the experience in general. Would definitely recommend this event to anyone who is a fan of the genre or any of the bands.
Great show! best show i have ever seen. metallica and megadeth were my favorite. the entire experience was once in a lifetime.
The show was pretty amazing, 4 of my favorite bands all playing on the same stage, it doesn't get much better than that. The highlight of the show for me had to be hearing Orion and hearing James acknowledge Cliff, just an awesome moment. The downfall of this show for me was not being informed that there was going to be a ridiculous amount of view obstructions. I purchased the tickets in section 119 thinking that I would have a great dead on view of the stage. It was never noted anywhere that my view was going to be pretty much destroyed by the foul ball netting, the amp towers, the soundboard cover, and the spotlight covers. Had I known that so much crap would be in the way I would have purchased tickets elsewhere in the stadium. So in short the bands and concert were spectacular. My experience with ticketmaster left a lot to be desired.
Antrax was great, Joe's voice was amazing. Loved the fact that he took the camera from the cameraman and filmed the fans. And wore the Chief Headdress during War Dance! Feel bad about Dave's neck, wish him speedy recovery. Symphony of Destruction& Holy Wars were great. Loved when the "skeleton guy" appeared during Peace sells! Megadeath rocks. Slayer put on a good show, especially raining blood. The member of Exodus filling in did an awesome job. Last but not least... METALLICA!!!!! They were unimaginable. I was pretty surprised that they started off with Creeping Death though, but it was still great. Then Ride the Lightning right after... that was good. The set list was nice, and the lasers during Blackened were unbelievable. Pyro during Fuel was awesome, and fireworks and smoke during One was great. James was amazing, and they really played a great show.
My review of this show is simple, it was a dream come true to have a line up like this, all four bands were incredible, a celebration of metal at its finest in one of the most awesome stadiums there is. I thank the yankees for allowing 50, 000 metal heads to party like crazy for 8 hours and appreciate Metallica, Slayer , Anthrax and Megadeth for going strong for 30 years st8... Here's looking forward to the next 30 years . "Metal up your ass!!!"
for me, the show was big 3, since the yankee stadium staff were incredibly unprepared to allow us to get in on time. Missed all but 1 anthrax song. Megadeth was great, slayer, great, metallica, great!
Anthrax,Slayer and Megadeth were ok. but when Metallica came on they blew everybody out of the park with how great they sounded. This was a great show for metal lovers and whoever loves Metallica. The sections were pretty good but I think Slayer and Megadeth should have switched sections. Great show overall!
The only issues i had was the sound, quality was great but it could've been a lot louder. Kick ass show though.
Wow! What an incredible event this was. Besides being in one of the grandest cities in the world and then being in the new Yankees Shrine and to top it off have the greatest Thrash bands of all time play---a few descriptives come to mind like incredible, monumental and epic. Truly, that doesn't even describe it. Great sound, perfect views from the VIP pit and an amazing vibe. I saw Indio, CA and The Bronx. One was as special as the other but what made this so great was enjoying the City for 4 days with family. Thank you METALLICA, Megadeth, Anthrax & Slayer. Taskerofpuppets \M/
One word- AMAZING! This show was probably the best one I've ever been to (I have been to probably 50+ shows and have seen both Metallica and Megadeth several times). Acoustics at Yankee stadium were great. Glad to have been a part of this historical tour!
