    Parking

by Eagle on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

Ticketmaster site had “Emerald” parking lot as sold out but from the stands I could see it was only half filled. I made a mistake when buying parking by clicking on Friday by mistake. Couldn’t z actually get through to a human to try and fix it so I spent $18 for nothing. The races were fantastic

Great event ; venue needs lots of work

by Rob on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

A day of horse racing at Belmont is always fun. For the Belmont stakes, the venue was not as prepared as it should have been - the wifi / cellular reception was not good and since so many people bet on their phones via NYRA, experience was not good. When I tried to use my NYRA card at the window, took forever to work so bet a lot less $'s than I would have if everything worked. Waited 45 minutes for a beer as the venue was understaffed for such a busy day - while waiting, without reception on the phone, could not bet a race and never went back for another drink as could not waste so much time standing in line. They had two people manning the drink area with about 40 people on line.

    Crazy crowded

by Kat on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

The lines were ridiculous trying to get anything to eat, drink or go to the bathroom!!! It was obvious there were many temps working that were clueless!

While the racing was exciting the venue is less than...

by EW on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

As usual the food and beverage options at Belmont Park were poor. Food was stale - if available at all, and all beverage selections were not available. Beer ran out by 5 pm - still over 2 hours of races left to run. If we attend again we will make sure to bring in food from home.

    Exciting but areas to improve

by Nyack on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

First timer so very exciting. The good is that the weather was perfect; we had reserved seats which is vital if your over 29; the LIRR ran really well - lots of trains (but they should enforce no drinking on train). To improve-betting - to few windows with people taking bets, considering the size of the crowd. It shouldn’t be necessary to use a person at a window to cash out. Machines should be able to handle. Food - food trucks too packed and hard to use. Food and beer/alcohol too few choices and places to buy.

    too little service, clueless NYRA

by Billy B on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

This is a great setting and a fun day, but for $200+ for a reserved seat there shouldn't be long lines staffed by clueless vendors for beer (40 min +), programs (sent from location to location), food (50 min +), etc. One can buy a beer at Yankees and Rangers games, or concerts with similar crowds. NYRA does not have a clue.

    Belmont Stakes 2023

    by Gators747 on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

We have been attending the Belmont Stakes since 2018. Coming from Orlando, FL., this is an event we look forward to every year. It is amazing, given the history with this park. My family and I absolutely love the Belmont!

2023 Belmont: The Year NYRA Regressed

by Joe on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

Every year I am confounded by the access to the Garden Terrace Restaurant. You cannot take the escalator up to the fourth floor. You have to take the elevator from the third to fourth floor. This is illogical. All NYRA needs to do is station a ticket checker at the top of the fourth floor escalator to direct folks to the restaurant or the other seating section. The commemorative tickets were a nice touch, but they came up as invalid for entry on both days. Worst food of the last ten years on the buffet. Starting lunch at 1:30 was too late. Levy serves had problems clearing tables and serving drinks.

    Poorly run

by Mym on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

There was incredibly long lines to get any beverages or any foods. After waiting for 40 minutes on the line to get a cocktail we found that there was no bourbon no vodka, no gin left very disappointing, especially after waiting on the line for that long it seems like all concession had very long lines.

    Sad times

by Pagan on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

Been going to the Belmont for like 30 years..back when it was $2 to get in and bring a cooler.. Now $40 to get in, mostly all machine betting, only a handful of window agents.. Super long lines for concessions as only one person maybe two working the stands.. At $15 a beer, you could pay someone $50 an hour for the day and as long as they rang up 5 beers an hour you're making money.. No wonder NYS is so screwed up.. they can't even sell 1000% mark up beer and make money on a gambling operation.

    Enjoyed but…

by McW on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

The good: The view from our seats was amazing Everything was timely and seemed to run smoothly Lots to explore between the races Although overpriced the food and drinks weren’t terrible The bad: Frustrated by the drunk frat-like guys who are rude, don’t follow the rules and dampen the experience for everyone. I didn’t pay $250/ticket to have to deal with cigar smoke in my seating section because some guy without the appropriate ticket wanted to sit behind me and smoke. Further as I was exiting the park some drunk guy decided to target my partner and I calling us dirty names while we minded our own business. Frankly it was disgusting and and a terrible way to end the day.

    Waited On Lines All Day

by Steve on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

The Belmont Stakes was grossly understaffed. I either stood on excessively long lines all day or decided against betting or buying food and drinks rather than wait. I have been to the Belmont Stakes numerous times before including the last two Triple Crown days when the crowd was double and never had this problem. Hire enough people to handle the crowd.

Great races, too many obnoxious frat boys

by Steve on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

The races were great but security and food service was horrible given the influx of young folks who had no respect for the races, the truw race fans and lacked all semblence of common courtesy or manners. If someone didnt buy a seat, keep them away from the fans who invested their money to do so. Sad that Belmont seems driven to use entertainment and gimmicks to try to be Preakness north....oh well I may skip next year and that is a sad reflection on NYRA losing lifelong fans.

    Good then bad

    by Q on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

It’s a great event. Very fun. But later in the day there’s way way too many people. It’s ridiculous how many people you let in general admission.

    Belmont review

by Alex on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

The event itself was an awesome time but the setup and staffing for food and drinks was abysmal. It literally took 45 minutes to get a beer after 5 pm.

    Did they forget the date?

by Monco on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

Have been to the Belmont Stakes race for 25 years. This year the crowd was light and the day was beautiful. However Belmont Park clearly forgot that is was stakes day....First - 3 metal detector entrances for the train terrace entrance?!?!? Then they ran out of beer before the Belmont race in the majority of stands (again light crowd by typical standards). One of the main escalators was down...I love the Belmont because it's not fancy like the other Triple Crown races, but c'mon get it together on your biggest day of the year...

Longest lines at an event ever.

by Veen on 6/13/23Belmont Park - Elmont

Previous Stakes have been significantly better and much better planned. The lines to everything (food, drinks, restrooms) were at times over an hour long. Even for a bottle of water. There was no order or control either of who was being served. Watched as at least 15 underage people had "friends" buy them drinks right in front of the staff and when this was pointed out, they shrugged. Given the prestigious reputation of this event - it fell way too short. Likely not to go again.
