Avett Brothers Concert Schedule and Tour

Growing up in Concord, North Carolina, and influenced by Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Neil Young, brothers Scott Avett on banjos and Seth Avett on guitars formed The Avett Brothers with standup bassist Bob Crawford in 2001, and released their first studio album Country Was in 2002, as well as live concert album that same year. Their stripped down, folky sound has a maudlin but warm vibe, full of gorgeous melodies and bluegrass jingle jangle. 2003's A Carolina Jubilee followed on Ramseur Records, as well as 2004’s Mignonette, which further polished their sound with graceful harmonies. In between a relentless concert and touring schedule, the band managed to record 2006’s Four Thieves Gone: The Robbinsville Sessions and The Gleam EP, in addition to a second live album, between tours before releasing their 2007 album Emotionalism. This garnered a lot of critical acclaim and caught the attention of Rick Rubin, who signed the band to his American Records label and produced their follow-up 2009’s I and Love and You, expanding their sound and bringing the band to new heights. Their seventh full-length album The Carpenter, also produced by Rubin, came out in 2012, debuting at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 and earning their first Grammy nomination. The Avett Brothers latest, Magpie and the Dandelion, was released in October 2013 and is full of pop charisma and folk soul that has been enchanting ticket holders and pulling at their heartstrings with its raw energy and intimacy.

    Worth the Wait!

    by KitKatE on 7/19/23

We purchased these tickets back in December of 2019 as a Christmas present for our family. The Avett Brothers are so special and appeal to such a wide range of audiences but it still seemed like a miracle that our entire family would LOVE them, including our three kids who were teenagers at the time! We had traveled to Salem, OR, to see the Avett Brothers in August of 2019 before sending our son off to college and to celebrate my 50th birthday. It was such a wonderful concert and a special time for our family that we couldn’t wait to see them again so we bought tickets for Seattle for May 2020. Who knew we wouldn’t get to see them until July 2023?!? Our son graduated college, our daughter is halfway through her undergrad degree, and our youngest daughter graduated from high school in the meantime! It was such a long wait, but the Avett Brothers did NOT disappoint! They came out from the start with high energy, engaged with the audience while performing, and somehow still made the whole experience feel personal and intimate. It would have been nice if they had acknowledged those of us who had waited for so long but I can’t hold that against them. We loved the concert! We love how they engage with the audience! After looking forward to this for so long, we are so sad it’s over! We can’t wait to see them again!

The Avett Brothers put on a HELL of a show! 5 ⭐️ +

    by Chelewells on 7/18/23

Not only did the Avett Brothers rock with a stunning performance, a very nice gentleman named Tony made my son’s birthday celebration extra special by surprising us with box seats. He is a HUGE A.B. Fan and had the best birthday celebration ever (#29). Top 5 concerts I’ve seen ever (starting in 1981) The venue was great and parking was easy. The assistance getting out of the venue at the end was efficient and speedy.

    Simply amazing

    by Olydan on 7/18/23

Having wanted to see these fellas for years, I was concerned that I may have over estimated how good they would be. Yeah...no. All expectations were over achieved. Such a great show by such great talents. The performance showcased everyone and sampled thier varied, deep, thoughtful, joyous, fun catalogue. Count me in as the fan who will see them time and time again.

    Amazingy Talented

    by Julie on 7/18/23

First time seeing The Avett Brothers at the Whiteriver Amphitheatre. I appreciated the simplicity of the set; the whole band is amazingly talented, sound was clear, high energy for the duration of the show. Loved hearing Vanity played live and a Harry Belafonte cover. Thank you, fan for life.

Venue sucks the energy out of the performance

    by Tracy on 7/18/23

First time to this venue, and the horrible cash-grab empty box seats in the middle of the venue sucked all the life out of the performance. Stratifying ticket prices like that is a disservice to the audiences and performers. I don’t think I’ll deal with the parking hassle and price gouging for “Star “ parking again to return to this venue. Super disappointed .No thanks.

    Energetic!

    by MBS on 6/29/23

The Avetts did not disappoint!! All band members were ON and working well together which means their performance was GREAT!!! So much energy and emotion, setlist was so good, just wished we had a longer concert, as this was part of Summerfest, there seemed to be a time limit. Still, they packed a lot in and we left HAPPY!

    Great band, venue not good

by SummerFest 2023 on 6/26/23BMO Pavilion - Milwaukee

The band put on a great show, as always. Scott was super energetic and came down into the crowd. They played for an hour and 45 minutes, which for a festival is a nice, long set. But the sound in the BMO is terrible. (I was there again Saturday night - same thing.) I will no longer pay a premium price for a reserved seat inside the pavilion, when the acoustics are so terrible.

5 Star Concert -but BMO needs improvement

by Openair on 6/26/23BMO Pavilion - Milwaukee

I’ve followed The Avett Brothers since 2009 and this concert was a non-stop 5 Star stunner of much of their finest work to date, hitting one Classic high point after another. Sound was excellent - hats off to the audio board crew. The audience was up to the task as well and was totally engaged from start to finish. The BMO Pavilion is a great venue - but it had only one video screen in operation (stage right) for this concert and this those of us on the (stage left) side had no screen and only a side view of the one across the way . I think I’ve seen two screens there at previous concerts but in any case, there should be one to properly serve both sides of the audience.

    Awesome show and experience

by Dobie on 6/26/23BMO Pavilion - Milwaukee

We love the BMO Pavilion. Big enough to bring in big name acts, but small enough not to be herded in like cattle. Avett Brothers are awesome

    Very good show.

by New fan on 6/25/23Alliant Energy PowerHouse - Cedar Rapids

Govt Mule opened with a great show. Avett Brothers put on a very good high energy show. They played their hits and maintained a great relationship with the audience.

Govt Mule was fantastic. Avett brothers not as great.

by River on 6/25/23Alliant Energy PowerHouse - Cedar Rapids

We came to see Warren Haynes and Govt Mule band. They were so good, but really didn’t get the billing they deserved. Don’t understand why Avett Brothers were considered top billing over Govt Mule. After listening to Govt Mule, Avett seemed like a let down, we left the concert early.

by Ryan on 6/25/23Alliant Energy PowerHouse - Cedar Rapids

The Avetts always put on a great show and truly love their fans. The BMO Pavilion was a cool venue to take in a show right on the lakeshore as well.
