Avett Brothers Concert Schedule and Tour

Growing up in Concord, North Carolina, and influenced by Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Neil Young, brothers Scott Avett on banjos and Seth Avett on guitars formed The Avett Brothers with standup bassist Bob Crawford in 2001, and released their first studio album Country Was in 2002, as well as live concert album that same year. Their stripped down, folky sound has a maudlin but warm vibe, full of gorgeous melodies and bluegrass jingle jangle. 2003's A Carolina Jubilee followed on Ramseur Records, as well as 2004’s Mignonette, which further polished their sound with graceful harmonies. In between a relentless concert and touring schedule, the band managed to record 2006’s Four Thieves Gone: The Robbinsville Sessions and The Gleam EP, in addition to a second live album, between tours before releasing their 2007 album Emotionalism. This garnered a lot of critical acclaim and caught the attention of Rick Rubin, who signed the band to his American Records label and produced their follow-up 2009’s I and Love and You, expanding their sound and bringing the band to new heights. Their seventh full-length album The Carpenter, also produced by Rubin, came out in 2012, debuting at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 and earning their first Grammy nomination. The Avett Brothers latest, Magpie and the Dandelion, was released in October 2013 and is full of pop charisma and folk soul that has been enchanting ticket holders and pulling at their heartstrings with its raw energy and intimacy.

that I was able to go see the Avett Brothers live. They are my favorite band of all time and they were incredibly entertaining. I would have paid twice that amount to go see them again. They were simply AMAZING! Couldn't have been more perfect.

    Unforgettable Hallow's Eve

    by whatashow89 on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

The Ryman slowly filled up. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals set the stage. They were incredible and just fired everyone up to get ready for The Avett Brothers. Grace Potter was full of energy and just showed she was having an amazing time and she was the build up to the grand finale of hours with The Avett Brothers. In between acts was a little crowd singing of Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer. And then The Avett Brothers come out and open up with Die Die Die. A wonderful song off the album Emotionalism. I couldn't believe the energy that was in the Ryman. It was full of life and costumes and the Avett Brothers delivered a show too hard to craft in to words. The best concert I have ever seen.

by Anonymous on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I have seen the Avett Brothers several times but this show was amazing! All shows are amazing but seeing the Avett Brothers at the Ryman there is just no comparison! They really went all out for Halloween and played a great final show to their Fall tour! This was the best concert ever!! I hope they get some much needed rest and look forward to seeing them next year!! Hopefully at the Ryman again!

Halloween with The Avett Brothers was fabulous!!!

by mustluvdogs on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

This was one of the greatest events I've attended. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals were AMAZING!!!! Then when The Avett Brothers came out in mummy costumes, it was so fun. The sound at the Ryman is always so good and never too loud or too garbled. Best concert I have been to this year!!!!

I want spring loaded legs like The Avett Brothers!

by CarolSwag on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Without a doubt The Avett Brothers concert at the Ryman on October 29, 2010 was one of the most energetic and enjoyable shows I have ever attended. By the end of the evening I was wrung out - physically and emotionally. The music was indescribably good, the venue was amazing and the crowd was fully involved. It was absolutely great. This performance has made my top five all time favorite shows - ever - and for the first time I think I understand those band fans that travel around the country so often to see a band they love.

most fun I've ever had at a show

by LaGibbla on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

The Avetts were fantastic live. High energy. Needless to say the vocals and music were top notch. Better live than on their albums. I think the whole Ryman was shaking from the amount of foot stomping and pew beating. I'd go again in a heartbeat!

5 stars for band, not venue

by jmetts on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

The ryman has many spots on the first floor that are horrible. We happened to get two fo those. Luckily we walked down to the front of the stage and none of the seat nazis confronted us, most likely because of the packed house and everyone standing. If it had not been for this I would be writing a very different review. Anyways, the show was unbelievable. The energy and ability this small group of guys have to entertain and keep an audiences attention is amazing to say the least. Also, I should point out that many bands play on Halloween and hardly mention it or try to get into the spirit of the season. These guys embraced it, dressing up in full mummy costumes and staying like that the entire two hour set. Speaking of set, there stage was every bit as dressed the part as the performers. From dead trees and grim reapers hanging, to jackolanterns on amps and torn rags covering the drum mics. Greatest halloween show I have ever attended. Hands down.

One of the best concerts I've ever seen in years of going to shows. They had the whole place rocking. The Ryman is my absolute favorite but I can't wait to see them again somewhere, anywhere.

    Avett Bros Rocked the Ryman!

by booabs on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Been to MANY MANY shows at the Ryman but have NEVER seen the Ryman rock like the night we saw The Avett Brothers there. They, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, put on an unfrogettable show- the music was fantastic, the setting was incredible, and the vibe in the Ryman was that of a large group karaoke. Unbelievable, would recommend anyone see the Avett Bros. if they can and see any show at the Ryman if they can!

    The Avett Brothers were Amazing!!!

by Jffinedesigns on 11/1/10Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I am a huge fan of music in general and love to go to concerts to see and hear the music produced in person. I have been to the Ryman before and knew the sound would be perfect. I have listened to the Avett Brothers for many years now, but never had an chance to see them live due to my schedule. I have to say, of all the concerts I have ever been to in all my "seasoned" years of seeing live music, the Avett brothers surpassed them all for the energy they produce in the fans. One only assumes that they are truely enjoying their calling and making great, positive impressions on people of amazing scales. You can't help but feel happy for people that know what a hard days work is like and make it big with such good messages in their songs that so many people connect with. I will be back to see these guys again as soon as they are anywhere near Memphis or Nashville because this was the best concert I have ever seen!
