    Bravo!

by Nel on 3/11/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I loved everything about this experience. Buying tickets on line and picking my seats was a breeze. The Cobb Energy Performance Arts Centre is my favorite venue: easy to get to, great parking, beautiful center, intimate setting, good acoustics. Porgy and Bess has been my favorite for decades. The set was very innovative and the lead singers were fabulous.

This was my first time ever seeing this show and could not have asked for a better production! It was phenomenal, to say the least!

Porgy and Bess Cobb Energy Center

by J. on 3/10/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The venue was great as were the seats. I thought that the performance was a little long although I know that it was written that way and i know that there needs to be a rest period. All in all, it was a wonderful experience!

    Great performance.

by Kaemdsings on 3/10/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I can't say enough about the cast. Morris Robinson convincingly portrayed the disabilty of Porgy and moved us with his velvety baritone/bass voice. He was complimented by the awsome performance of Bess(Talise Trevigne). The gentleman who played Sportin' Life was a pure joy to watch and reminded me of Sammy Davis, Jr.'s portrayal of that role. This is a must see.

    Great Show, Venue and Service

by opsan on 3/11/19Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The show was amazing, in Russian, but subtitled (my Russian isn't that good yet). The Venue is world-class .. we were in Orchestra, pretty far back but had an incredible visual and audio experience. Staff (many volunteers) were friendly and efficient. Couldn't do this size of production without them.

    Excellent performamce; shitty audience

by Mike10101a1 on 5/2/17Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I would highly recommend this event to anyone. Excellent performance by an excellent cast, but pay the extra money for a good seat so you won't have to deal with rude people texting in the balcony.

    don pasquale

by crislobri on 3/28/17Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The singing was excellent. The way the opera was modernized and presented was great. The actual sets were a bit sparse. The orchestra at times over powered the singers which was frustrating. The venue is excellent and the seats were good.

    It was incredible!!

by RFRIED on 5/8/14Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The music was wonderful. The cast did a great job and had the entire audience laughing out loud. It's the only opera I've seen that was funny and not tragic where everyone dies. I LOVED IT!! A great performance even if you're not an opera fan.

    Absolutely Lovely

by porfanides on 5/7/14Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The entire cast was wonderful. We loved the conductor (and MUCH prefer him to Fagen who conducts most of the opera performances). Sitting on the front row we had a clear view of his expressions and we could see him quietly smiling throughout the entire performance. A genuine indication that he himself was enjoying it. The main characters were terrific. The Barber of Seville is a lighthearted comedy and the acting abilities of the performers truly accentuated the comedy. Rosina's character had ever the slightest notions and hints of when she is outsmarting someone, or when she feels shy or blushes. Figaro was a constant source of entertainment, and the count truly transformed with each of his disguises. And while the acting was superb, the singing was no less. The beginning of the first act seemed to be lacking a bit in terms of volume and energy in the singing, but that quickly changed. We absolutely enjoyed the performance

    Barber of Seville

by schribner on 5/7/14Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

Good performance. The barber needed to be miked up a little better for his opening aria but over all the rest of the story went well. The sets and costumes were lovely. We had the unfortunate luck to sit beside two very loud and unwashed women. A distraction for sure, but we moved after the first act.

    true comedy

by docf16 on 5/2/14Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

I am still laughing at scenes from this opera. Sidney Outlaw who played Figaro was fantastic. It seemed the character Figaro was made for Mr. Outlaw. He made this role his own. My only regret is I will only see this opera one time this season. This opera would be great for neophytes of opera. All of the singers were remarkable and very talented. Irene Roberts and Javier Abreu were exceptionally great. Costume and set designs were perfect. I am very proud of the fans of Atlanta, that we do support great artists. I attended the Tuesday evening show. Despite a significant chance of tornadoes and being advised to stay off the highways, the performance was well attended. Atlanta is the New York of the South.
