Derek and Warren were great as always. Different kind of set. Some tunes I haven't heard in years. If you were there to hear hits you would have been disappointed. They did play a few. Butch was out sick, however, his nephew filled in fine. The show didn't start till 8:30 and a 45 minute break is pushing it, but I guess they have to sell their beer a T shirts.

doesn't get better than this
by jbjlover86 on 3/14/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The band played like it was their last show ever. The set list had a good mix of old and new. It was a great night.
Allman Missing Butch!
by Campbell07 on 3/14/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5A huge disappointment as soon as we noticed Butch was not in his usual spot. I have LOVED the Allman Brothers live concerts since Watkins Glen in 1973. I have NEVER been disappointed, quite the opposite on the 11th, this particular night was not memorable for me. Haynes and Trucks were incredible on the guitars and Duane tried his best but certainly no replacement for Butch! Greg was hanging in there, while Jaimoe, forgetting about his drums, but would rather mix all those drinks beneath his feet, or walking down the steps in the middle of the song to go chat with a friend in a seat? I have been fortunate to attend the Allman Brothers at the Beacon Theater sooo many times! Magnificent Venue!
Wow!
by ABBBeacon on 3/14/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5This show was a bluesy Allman Brothers classic! Derek and Warren fed off of each other beautifully, and the Juke Horns added a nice touch to several songs throughout the evening. The highlight for me, though, was the fantastic guitar playing throughout the show. That's what I went to see - with high expectations - and I was blown away. If you're contemplating catching one of the final ABB shows at the Beacon, do it!
ALLMAN BROS
by SINGMAN on 3/14/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5I've been hitting the note with the Brothers since they started here in '89. I used to go 4 or 5 nights but prices these days have limited my visits to once a run. This year the boys are calling it quits which saddens me but what survives 45 years anymore. So I was both happy and sad to see it end but what a run it's been. This years show was awesome....very blues driven and soulful. Could not have asked for a better setlist and Derek and Warren were both on fire! For my concert dollar you can't do better. EAT A PEACH FOR PEACE. See yall in Scranton.
ALLMAN BROTHERS ROCKED THE BEACON ONCE AGAIN!!!
by Dannie929 on 3/13/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The show started with the classic Statesboro Blues to get he crowd on its feet, followed with Come and Go Blues, then settled into a bluesy kind of "in the living room" feeling. Rain, a Beatles classic, was a nice addition.

Allman Brothers Band Beacon 3/8/14
by btr69 on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Overall a very good show with a lot of different songs than I expected. I have been going to see the Allman Brothers at the Beacon since 1996 and each year they surprise me. I am not crazy about the venue as I used to be with too many restrictions being placed on patrons but it is still worth coming back each year. I was Happy to hear Little Martha open the second set into Blue Sky and Sailing Across The Devils Sea was great too. I am going to 4 more shows this run and I am hoping to hear a full album played at one of them.
An off night for the Allmans
by oldtimehockey4 on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5This was sort of an odd off night for the band. With a very primed Saturday night crowd, one would have expected the band to blow the roof off the joint. Sadly, they didn't. What was most disappointing was Derek Trucks mostly staying in the background for most of the night. He has evolved into one of my favorite guitarists on the strength of his blistering solos but this night he seemed pretty checked out. There also wasn't a lot of dual guitar byplay with Warren Haynes for most of the night either, a usual hallmark of the Allman's sound. Also disappointing was that It was very hard to hear Gregg Allman's vocals at times. After the end of the show and the lights came up after a perfunctory encore of "Southbound", my 3 buddies and I looked at each other and went WTF: What an lackluster show.
Classic Allman Bros Show
by Boots56 on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Yet another great show at the Beacon for the Allman Bros. They typically start off slow and get better but this run I must say that the boys ain't wastin' time as both the first and second shows on March 7 and 8 were both excellent and high energy. Highlights for the 8th were the best Hoochi Coochie Man and Black Hearted Woman I have heard in 45 years.
Another Great Beacon Show
by Joe134 on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The brothers never disappoint. Just about the best show around

Allman Bros in top form at the Beacon on March 8
by ToughCritic on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Typically, I pick one show of the Allmans' annual Beacon run to go see, so my sample size is relatively small. That said, Saturday night's performance was the best of the bunch from my personal frame of reference over the last 8 years. As usual, sound and playing were great, and while no show ever plays my "dream" set list, I was well satisfied and engaged by the songs chosen. What made this performance stand above the others for me was the focus (no guest stars) and the way the band was "locked and loaded" during the extended jam sections. Bands that utilize a lot of improvisation in their performances are always "high-wire acts" - -that is, some nights it clicks and is transcendental, and other nights it just doesn't catch fire and can be a bit boring. Saturday was definitely a transcendental night. Everybody was channelling everybody else - - there was a single group mind. And they played my single, all-time favorite Allman Brothers song, "Black Hearted Woman", so I was particularly ecstatic about that. My only regrets were that they did not include an extended percussion jam in the second set, as had been customary in prior Beacon shows I had seen, and which I considered to be the highlight of those other shows. That, and I have to confess that I had hoped to hear "Whipping Post" one last time. That's the problem with an Allman Brothers show, though - -they have so much fantastic material that its impossible for them to play everything, every show. Sigh.
There is a lot to be said for quitting at the top
by hytg on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5ABB should have retired a long time ago... Greg should have stowed his stool years ago... Warren just goes through the steps for the $$$'s (no different when he is playing with Gov Mule) I will never pay to see him again. Only worthy performance was Derek, which was limited to the few times they let him play. I was really looking for a good show, but unfortunately was very disappointed Recommendation: Lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed.
awesome music concert!! terrible Beacon staff!
by bcoplin31 on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5The music was amazing and everything I hoped it would be for what very well may be my last Allman bros show. however the beacon theatre staff more or less ruined the night constantly shining flashlights in our faces trying to accuse us of smoking cigarettes when we were doing nothing of the kind. even if I went to grab my cell phone out of my pocket the guy would come over and start staring at me. I was very uncomfortable the whole night and it definitely distracted me from some of the great music that was being played. I paid a lot of money to see the show and was very disappointed in how I was treated by the staff at the Beacon theatre. I will certainly think twice before going back to that theater ever again.
Good, but not fantastic!
by Staern on 3/11/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5It was ok but they didn't perform some of my favourite songs. (but they did it on march 8!). I also think that Gregg was a bit "low", both in the mix and in the mood. Is he sick? Or just old? And they almost never spoke to the audience during the show! The whole show needed a spark, but it never came!

Allman brothers....always amazing!
