  • The Allmans are on Fire!!

by cleofus on 7/31/09Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Two great shows at the newly refurbished and beautiful fox theatre in oakland. Both shows were great. I thought the 2nd set the first night was the best set but i thought the next night was a better entire show. The upcoming tour with WSP will be the best ticket this fall, i wouldn't miss it

  • Totally Incredible

by justfara on 7/22/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

When I saw Benmont Tench get up and play, right after Bruce Willis, and right before Mike Campbell and the always spectacular Tom Petty, I knew that this night was going to be the treat of my summer. I am still talking and tweeting about how wonderful it was. It just does not get any better than this. justfara

  • Allmans rocked the house!

by WoolyMammoth on 7/22/09Harrah's Rincon Casino - Open Sky Theater - Valley CenterRating: 5 out of 5

The Doobie Brothers/ Allman Brothers show was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. The Doobs proved they still have the chops and the Allmans just blew my doors. A great time was had by all!

  • Allman Bros were awesome........what a show!

by VallieGirl on 7/20/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I loved the Allman Brothers concert. We were shocked at how incredible they still sound and loved how they played for hours. Many concerts are so short and this concert was a full evening of fun and music. We would definiately attend another Allman Brother's concert in the future.

This was my second time seeing the doobie brothers and first time seeing the allman's and of course the show was good. allmans are a little hard for my taste but i still thought they put on a good show and jamed well. The doobies were also great to see.

by hottytoddy2010 on 7/16/09Harrah's Rincon Casino - Open Sky Theater - Valley CenterRating: 4 out of 5

Great outdoor show! Only negative was that they had a smoking section at an outdoor concert!?! I don't really get that, but it was a great show and a lot of fun!

  • COULD BE BETTER

by JOEOLSON on 7/16/09Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

WARREN HAINES HAS TO REALIZE HE IS NOT THE BEST GUITARIST ON STAGE.PLAY HIS SLIDE THEN SIT DOWN. HE DID TOO MUCH GRATEFUL DEAD JIBERISH

  • Allmans rocked with Petty and Heartbreakers

by willio on 7/15/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

The Allman Brothers proved why they are the standard for Southern Guitar Rock, and the Greek Theatre is the perfect venue for their crowd. They sounded great throughout the show, but never better than when Tom Petty along with Benmont TEnch and Mike Campbell of the Heartbreakers joined them for 2 Dylan covers, including a tremendous rendition of Highway 61 Revisited. A thoroughly enjoyable show, with the Doobie Brothers doing an admirable effort in opening.

  • Allman Bros/Doobie Bros.

by Btrlife on 7/15/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Loved every minute of both bands! Wish Allmans' had perhaps played less jams and more tunes, but that's not a real complaint. Just wanted more!

  • my first allman brothers band

by intanfu on 7/15/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Allman Brothers Band show. It was great. I am a big fan of both Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks. I have seen both on numerous occasions in one form or another. I had a great seat 2 row center. Throughout the eveing a number of guest played with the band. At first, Bruce Willis, Mr. Hudson Hawk himself, stepped on stage to play harmonica. Later in the set the keyboard player from the Heartbreakers joined the band. This should have been a clue for the those in the audience, a bit of foreshadowing. Soon enough, Tom Petty was announced to join the stage. What a treat. He played to Bob Dylan songs with the band, switching of verses with Greg Allman. The band is finely tuned and sounded great.

  • Allman Jam

by RandyM on 7/14/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

The Allman Brothers proved once again they are the best southern rock blues band playing today and maybe ever. From Statesboro Blues through Dreams to Whipping Post they just downright rock the house. And as they try to do whenever possible, they bring out guests to jam with and on this night it was Tom Petty and the main Heartbreakers, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench who rolled through a cover of Stormy Monday and two Bob Dylan classics with the guys. What a treat.

  • ABB --- Too Many Guitar Solos That Night

    by 25shady on 7/14/09Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

I've seen the ABB several times over the last few years and the night of May 13th was a bit of a disappointment. Gregg's voice was strong, Derek's licks sweet and Warren's guitar wailed but overall there were too many extended guitar solos. The band would have been better off that night with more songs and less solos...

  • Allman Brothers Band at The Fox Theater in Oakland

by randylittle on 7/14/09Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing new venue, absolutely PERFECT conditions to see The Allman Brothers Band while they celebrated 40 YEARS together :) It was very nice to see Gregg Allman looking better and hearing him play better because of it!!! Warren Haynes will get my vote as MVP of 2009 for his excellent lead guitar playing for The Allman Brothers Band, Government Mule AND The Dead !!!

  • good music poor seating

by frodo1056g on 7/14/09Harrah's Rincon Casino - Open Sky Theater - Valley CenterRating: 2 out of 5

Enjoyed the music much, but I guess it was unrealistic to expect seats, paid over 100 dollars to stand.

  • My mind was blown

by FyndtheNote on 7/14/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

First of all, let me make it clear that I'm speaking strictly about the Allman Bros. Coming to the concert I had no desire to see the Doobie Brothers so I only caught their last two songs. Never really been a fan and their performance didn't exactly convert me.I have nothing against them they just don't appeal. Musically the Allmans are on such a stellar level. I've been listening to their old albums for a while and I picked up the One Way Out live album with the current line-up and I've listened to that quite a bit. But this show just floored me. With Derek, Oteil, Marc the percussionist and Warren the band is keeping it fresh. The opener was Don't Want You No More which which was an awesome hard-hitting classic and the band's flow from one song to another wasn't even seamless it was just an interesting ride the whole way through. This was my first time seeing them and it won't be my last. Derek Trucks is the man!

  • Allman Bros rocked the Greek!

by bbbx on 7/14/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Forget about Rambling Man, these guys have a unique style that you have to hear live to really appreciate. Their roots are from the delta blues, and their musicianship is awesome. Gregg still has the best voice of any white guy singing the genre. Derek Trucks totally channeled Duane on the glass slide. Totally incredible cameos, incl Bruce Willis on harmonica and Tom Petty singing Highway 61!

  • Allmans

by Rob88888 on 7/13/09Harrah's Rincon Casino - Open Sky Theater - Valley CenterRating: 5 out of 5

What a great chance to see two fantastic bands--Never saw Doobies--these guys can seriously rock--very accomplished musicians. Seen the Allman Bros as often as I can including 1973 Watkins Glen with 600,000 people ( bigger than Woodstock) Anyway the continuing lineup with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks is great and true to the form of the band. Wonderful Venue and nice to see Greg Allman !!

  • Doobie and Allman Bros. were great!

The music was great. All these guys still hold up today. The guitar player for the Allmans was outstanding.
