  • Widespread Panic played for hours and hours

by gardenangelshari on 8/24/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

I am a Widespread Panic virgin and now I'm a convert. When Allman Brother and Johnny Wayne joined them onstage it was incredible. They played for over 5 hours. I danced the WHOLE time and it was so much fun.

  • The Allman Brothers Band

These guys are still unbelievable!! The jam sessions with Derek and Warren was amazing and the other guest musicians blew us away!! And who would have thought Greg would have gotten up and played guitar like the good ol' days. Hopefully this wasn't a goodbye tour after 40 years for Greg.

  • Allman Brothers Jammed out

by longjonn02 on 8/24/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 4 out of 5

We loved the show! Allman brothers band never disapoints. however, they played no classics. I dont know for sure, but they may be promoting a new album because it seemed like none of the songs we know were played. Other than that, it was awesome! a huge variety of people at this concert from people in suits, to people barely dressed, it was a great time!

  • Best Allman Brothers show I've seen

by JessicaL48 on 8/24/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

This show was fantastic, they played a lot of old songs which was great because they usually play stuff from their newer albums, it was great to hear "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" live. Covered a Van Morrison song which was unexpected and phenomenoul.

  • opening act was way to long

by hunt on 8/24/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 2 out of 5

an opening act should not be two hours long. The Allman Bros didnt start until almost ten oclock. The only atm at the venue did not work, therefore we could not buy anything.

  • not engaging

by dissattisfied on 8/24/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 1 out of 5

both bands had same members? Did not play songs that were engaging...what happened to whipping post or ramblin man....nothing to sing to...

  • Allmans & Panic... A winning combonation!

by pashakg on 8/24/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

This wasn't my first time seeing the Allman Brothers or Widespread panic, but it was likely one of the best shows I've seen so far this year. Widespread panic was amazing as always, but when the Allman Brothers took the stage with Jimmy Herring things started to reach a new level. The setlist was out of this world. The visual aspect of the show was one of the best I've seen. This show was reminiscent of The Dead spring tour stops that I caught back in April and May in terms of intensity, energy and the attitude of the crowd. In a single phrase, I was blown away by this show.

  • SWEET!!

  • Allman Bros & Widespread Panic

by xrayme on 8/24/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

One of the better acts I have seen this year. For pure ability and love of their trade, these folks rule. They loved to play and play and play. Styx and the Beatle tribute bands (CMT and Rain) maybe my favorites, but these folks cannot be denied. Definitely the best.

  • Awesome

Derek was on fire...Chad(?) Campbell should have been in on a few more songs

  • Brothers and Widespread - AWESOME

Widespread Panic was an incredible open to the Allman Brothers! By far the best concert I've been to this season!

  • The Allman Brothers Rock On!!!!

by RNMusiclover on 8/23/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Allman Brothers show and I loved it! The opening of the show with the tribute to Duane Allman was fantastic. His spirit plays on in their music. Greg Allman's voice was right on. He still sounds like he did on the albums made in the 70's! The opening band, Widespread Panic, was killer. Before the show I had not heard of them. As of today, my husband just got off Amazon ordering 2 of their CDs. Usually, you go to a show not really caring if you see the opening act. I'm glad we got their on time. The CMAC- what a perfect venue for this show. The sound was great. Surrounded by great people. A beautiful, breezy night. Two rockin bands- endless guitar jams. Another 40 years? I would'nt miss another show.

  • allman brothers better than ever

by johnnied on 8/23/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

the allman brothers have been at it 40 years-i first saw them live in concert in 1972 at gaelic park, a high school football field in the bronx, ny. it was a totally packed house with duane taking part-last night with warren haines and THE INCOMPARABLE DERRICK TRUCKS(who is almost as good as GOD HIMSELF, MR CLAPTON), and gregg allman singing like he did 37 years ago, these guys didn't miss a beat! and of course IT WAS A PACKED HOUSE AGAIN AND A ROCKIN' GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL! the acoustics were top notch and this place is every bit as perfect as SPAC and it's an hour closer to syracuse, ny. make sure you e-mail me their schedule for next summer,2010 so i can get good seats. also we already got tickets for derrick trucks' band @ the onondaga county civic center in syracuse in november. also i would suggest that the promoters get togeher and put clapton, buddy guy and the allman brothers together in the carrier dome in syracuse so us ancient rockers/blues fans can have one last gorge-out before its ashes to ashes-dust to dust time!

  • Widespread Panic Kills!!!!!

  • Classic

by rjr14618 on 8/23/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

Once again ABB has shown why after 40 years they can still pack the house and leave you wanting more, they are true musicians and performers, they give it all up for the fans and they keep giving, watching them play you almost think that they go off into another place where only the music is, they enjoy the music almost and sometimes more than the fans, can't wait to see them again, I will be first in line to get tickets

  • Guitars, guitars and more guitars!!

by 97Champ on 8/23/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

The Allman Brothers alone are outstanding. Greg was singing great and hasn't lost a thing. But the highlight of the night were the guitars. Derek is simply the finest player alive. Warren is outstanding, and Jimmy Herring from WSP almost stole the show. This dude just tears it up! They all performed together and Chuck Campbell joined them on pedal steel for a couple tunes. Overall this was a guitar lovers wet dream.

  • Widespread Panic not my cup of tea.

by ZachSeb on 8/23/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 2 out of 5

Widespread played way way too long. I was tired by 9:45 when the Allman Brothers finally all showed up on stage. I did enjoy the opening picture tribute to Wayne. Then enjoyed all the beginnings of the songs and the ends, but the in-betweens got too long also. I think I enjoy Greg's voice more than the instumental, lengthy middle. I have been going to Allman Brother concerts every year since the late 80's, and this may be my last one. Hopefully I'm all alone in my observation, and every one else loved it. Thanks for asking. Zach

  • Canandaigua, New York AMAZING

by rsc1117 on 8/23/09Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center - CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

How can you review musical genius?. Four+ hours of pure joy, including Widespread Panic. Forty years later ABB STILL put on a show that kills. I recommend seeing this band to anyone even remotely interested in music. No frills, no dancers, no costumes, the way God intended. Flat-out Rock 'n Roll.
