Great show, highly recommend. Awesome night at the Red Rocks with Allman Brothers Band.
The boys were in fine shape last night. It was a great show last night underneath the moon and the stars. Everyone there throughly enjoyed it I believe. The A-Bros. were hittin the notes. 9.5 on a scale of 10!!!
The band demonstrated virtuosity and professionalism in continuous instrumental performance for the first hour. I make the standard critique: I wanted more classical Allman Brothers pieces, which they didn't play (probably because they're tired of them) and was disappointed. Overall, the show was enjoyable, and showed the band to be a top act.
If you ever get a chance, see a concert at Red Rocks. The beauty of the place cannot be described. The venue is so perfect, your expectations for the show are high. The Allman Brothers delivered. Covering songs over their forty year tenure, the music kept the crowd active and in a constant state of expectation for the next mighty rift. The guitar interplay between Warren and Derek sounded as if Duane was channeling. . Surprises included: Derek Trucks' wife (a Tina Fey lookalike?) who can play the blues on guitar and can sing like Janis. The fiddler from Railroad Earth was also a nice addition. All in all, I can't imagine a better "heaven" to be than watching the Allman Brothers at Red Rocks on a beautiful fall evening.
Music was great., The "Brothers" still got it. The venue can"t be beat. The view, the sunset and lucky enough to be there with a rainbow at sunset. Truely beautiful.
Awesome show, Greg Allman looked, sang and played great as did the rest of the band. Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks are great additions to the band. The setlist did a good job of covering their music through te years. A++++++
they were loud, because we couldn't get to and actually have a seat during their performance we wandered about the arena and the sound kept getting lost in the wind. After 40 years, they still sound good, but the jams seemed canned and there wasn't a story in there, I am sure the diehard fans had a blast because they were probably blasted....
Creative, versitile and the best jam'n around. Doesn't get much better than this folks
Great show! Red Rocks is an unforgettable amphitheatre, and the crowd at this sold out show was full of energy. The Allman Brothers sounded as great as ever, with Derek Trucks showing off his unbelievable talent and musicianship in full form.
I thought the show was very good. the guitars were great.
Rocking! Derek and Warren have taken their interplay and slide skills to an entirely new level. Them and Oteil push the rest of the band just hard enough and dare them to keep up. Were it not for a couple duds in the set list I would have given it 5 stars. Catch them if you can, not to be missed while the ABB is still on the road!
These guys are always incredible! The background of Red Rocks only makes it better. A beautiful warm night, awesome music from some very talented musicians had the crowd dancing away. This has been a summer concert Ive seen since the mid-90's. I never miss it! Great experience all around! Thanks !
40th anniversary of the band was incredible. The Duane Allman tribute at the beginning of the show was cool.
the entire experience was good- I attend a lot of shows and everything from parking , entry and the venue itself were very good
the whole experience, from the Bethel Woods staff to the grounds, to the seating was much better than I expected. I would definitely return for another summer concert! The Allman Brothers were fantastic! Forty years and still sounding great. Great show all around. Even the parking lot was easy to navigate and the wait to get in and out was reasonable.
I recently attended 2 Allman Brothers and Widespread Panic shows. Both bands are the utmost professional musicians. For anyone who has not seen the Allman Brothers and Widespread Panic, what is unique with these bands is that they change the setlists from show to show.So if you see 2 concerts in a row by these artists, there is a high chance you will not see repeated songs from the previous show!
Widespread Panic played a little longer than i had hoped for. I would have preffered to have The Allman Brothers play longer so then maybe I could have heard more of their old songs and their new songs.
the venue was terrific, i have never been there before and it was the best. The show was unforgettable and very well put together.
I LOVE BETHEL WOODS AND ALSO HAVE SEEN THE ALLMAN BROTHERS PLENTY OF TIMES BEFORE BUT..... THEY DID NOT PLAY ENOUGH ALLMAN BROTHER SONGS THEY PLAYED GRATEFUL DEAD AMONG OTHERS. WHEN YOU GO TO A ALLMAN BROTHERS CONCERT YOU EXPECT THEM TO SING ALLMAN BROTHER TUNES. NO ENCORE AND LIGHTS WENT ON AT 11 PM AND THAT WAS IT. I THINK THIS IS OUR LAST ALLMAN BROTHER CONCERT. TOO BAD I REALLY LIKE THEM
Very impressive show, Greg sounded incredible, So glad to see and hear them sounding as good as the old days. Cant wait to see them again, Truly an inspirational show.!!!!!
