Fantastic show!! The boys can still light up the night with some great jams and songs. had a amazing time and ya just can't beat Red Rocks for the show. The moon was full and the air was filled with sweet aroma all night long. Great show!!!! Railroad Earth was a excellent opening act too!
this concert was awesome. it seemed like the whole thing was one long jam session and thats exactly what i was looking for when i purchased these tickets. nothing beats the atmosphere at red rocks it is the best venue i have ever seen.
I have been a fan of the Allman Brothers for years and years. I got the chance to see them live at Red Rocks and they blew my expectations out of the water. Amazing show!!
Railroad Earth must have gained some new fans with their outstanding debut show at Red Rocks. Like a Buddha was one of the best versions ever and closing with Colorado was unforgettable. How could you not love these guys!! Allman Brothers were amazing - what talent, energy, and muscianship even after 40 years.
I was disappointed that I only knew one song that was played.
There is no place better to see a concert than at Red Rocks. And the crowd for the Allman Brothers was there to party. Enthusiastic yes, rowdy, no. The only complaint I have about the crowd is that smoking cigarettes is indeed hazardous to one's health. Why not go to the smoking area or better yet try and get through the evening without any? Are you really htat cool when you light up in the middle of the crowd? And the music -some bands come through loud loud and clear and seem to be able to take full advantage of the acoustics - others don't get it. The Allman Brothers didn't get it. Good music, probably better suited to a larger venue where I could have sprawled on the grass and watched the stars. Susan Tedeschi's second of two songs was the highlight. You could hear her and she didn't jam the night away. What is with jam bands anyway - the opening act jammed and jammed and jammed. Fine, and they did make the Allman Brothers look better although they too jammed and jammed and jammed. Knowing when to jam and when the jam is over is one sign of a good band. Making the jams evolve and actually take you and the music somewhere is another. Maybe the Allman Brothers were there once. They aren't now. Oh well, you can't go wrong at Red Rocks and they didn't.
This was the best Allman Brothers performance I have ever seen! I have been attending since the mid 70's. Greg look healthy, happy and had Way Cool Guests. Railroad Earth was fantastic and will go see them again when they play Colorado!
Well most people don't have anything to compare show to show, but I happened to be in New Hampshire on the 25th of August to see The Allmans, and Panic. And though the NH shows were really good, nothing compared to this Red Rocks show. The Allman's were simply on FIRE! The rumors say, that this may be Greg's last time on the Red Rocks stage and I think he going out with a bang, for sure. Also, Warren and Derek were ripping the strings off it too. All around awesome show!!! So if the rumors are true, Thank You Greg for the 40 years you have given all of us!
I had never seen or heard of Railroad Earth, and was pleasantly surprised. Great music, great musicians. The Allman Brothers Concert was GREAT, with awesome guest artists playing with them on a few songs. Red Rocks is a great venue to see a concert at.
This was the second time we have seen the Allman Brothers Band. The show was absolutely FANTASTIC...even better than the last time we seen them. Just like a fine wine, these guys just keep getting better as time goes on! You've got to go check them out! You won't regret it!!
They played their hits and jammed the night away under a nearly full moon in Red Rocks Amphitheatre - a remarkable outdoor acoustical treat. Dickie Betts can still rock and the 18 minute drum solos of 3 drummers was a percussionist's dream (I'm guilty as charged). We met many people from out of town - Cincinnati, Salina, North Carolina, St. Louis - that added to the night. Everyone seemed to be having a blast and helped make it a lot of fun.
Last night we saw the most wonderful display of true Southern Rock in a tireless jam session that made Red Rocks ROCK!! If you have never seen them play - you have missed the time of your life!!
This was our first visit to Red Rocks, we've allways been a fan of the Allman Brothers band,Thier performance is soooo impresive. The weather was perfect, Moon Rise was Beautiful, The whole event together was just perfect.
They played too few of their old hits too late into the concert. It was a shame because Red Rocks was great. They waitied until the end of the concert to paly their old hits what a shame. We traveled a fair distance to the concert and were disappointed
Probably the best pair of guitar players you'll ever find in one band. Warren and Derek are incredible. The percussion was fantastic. Greg's voice sounded great.
We had the best time, got lucky and sat on roll #8 in front of the giant tv screen !!! Four of us went together and it was a special event for us as friends. Two of us celebrating our birthdays turning 50, throw in an Anniversary and a meeting of 4 friends who hadn't been together for awhile. One couple driving in from out of state. So it will be a very good time full of memories for us there at Red Rocks, saving our Ticketmaster Tickets in our collection.
Greg sounded great and the songs w/Susan Tedeshci were a nice treat! Enjoyed the diverse set list .
I was completely disappointed feeling as though I was listening to every other jamband concert I've ever gone to. Could hardly hear Allman Brothers traditional songs/music. I did not realize all night was just going to be full of jamming. Waste of my money and Labor Day night! *Never seen so many left a Red Rocks Concert early before.
It is hard to believe it has been 40 of Allman Brothers. They sounded great! The guitar playing was amazing and the harmonies still strong.
