Absolutely fantastic. I travelled all the way from Spain to see one of my favorite bands of all times and I was not disappointed.

While it was disappointing that Gregg was not able to perform it was a great show.

  • Allman Brothers Farewell to the Beacon

by KensterG on 3/30/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Good show. Not one of their best though its always good to see them play. Greg, Butch and Jaimoe are all starting to really show their age. Greg's voice struggled to stay relevant and above the music. Butch and Jaimoe needed relief a couple of times during the show. Derek and Warren were in good form but it still kind of had the feeling they were mailing it in that night. But just hanging at the Beacon with the Allman crowd is always a treat. I do think its time that the "Road goes on Forever" be put to an end and the band leaves us with great memories of fabulous music and fun times.

  • Brothers Allman ROCK the Beacon!!

by kookman on 3/27/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This show was EASILY in the top 3 of every Allman Brothers show I've ever seen. I have seen the boys at least 60 times. The Beacon run has been a yearly event for me for many years. LOVE the BEACON. Greggs voice was so powerful. Go see this band. Now. Hurry.

  • ABB great night out!

by SandyUK on 3/26/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was excellent about the Allman Brothers Band concert that night. Having travelled from the UK via SXSW in Austin Texas the whole experience was perfect. The people I met were very friendly and very much ABB fans so I was right at home from the off. The acoustic were very good even though I was in the balcony.

  • Allmans "lit up" the Beacon!

by pennstatejeff on 3/26/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

What can I say? Certainly disappointed that Gregg was not there, no doubt about it. Was hoping the band would still put on a memorable show, and boy did they NOT disappoint! I can't remember a more "high energy" Brothers performance, further enhanced by guests like Jimmy Hall, Jr Mack, Susan Tedeschi, Jimmy Vivino who jumped into the fire as well. Revival closed out the first set with the whole audience singing along, and Black Hearted Woman, toward the end of the second set, may have been the single greatest number I ever say live (and I've seen a few). Hoping Gregg recovers his strength and voice soon so they can finish "the run."

  • Allman Brothers without an Allman Brother

    by marcs76 on 3/26/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Even though Greg Allman was out sick, Warren Haynes took the lead and Susan Tedeschi helped out. Amazing guitar with Derek Trucks and Warren

  • Despite Gregg being out

    by BillAdams3rd on 3/25/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Warren and Derek are more than capable of carrying the show. Although I have to admit, I certainly missed Gregg and his iconic vocals.

Not really fair that my show wasn't postponed. As much as i can appreciate the muscianship between the guys on stage, especially Derek and Warren, I wanted to see Gregg one last time with these guys. Song selection wasn't that great which makes sense since Gregg wasn't there. Only 3 stars because i felt it was an average show. Most of the people around me were disappointed as well.

  • 45 yr. Anniversary, Amazing

    by obx57 on 3/25/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Greg was out for this show with bronchitus. Wish him a speedy recovery. The rest of the band and their special guests picked up the slack and delivered an amazing performance. Warren Haines led the way. Susan Tedeschi sang several numbers. Junior Mack on Soutbound and Waistin' Time was unbelievable. All in all, one of the best Allman Brothers shows I've seen.

  • ABB Always GREAT

  • Disappointed at The Beacon again!!!!

by MRLTC on 3/25/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Attended the March 22nd show and for the second time in the last few years Gregg was ill and did not show. Both times I did not find out til I invested my time and money to travel to NYC so I stuck with it. The band was ok but I am not interested in The Allman Bros. All Star Revue. I have seen these guys close to 100 times and I know you take the good with the not so good. But come on, why not reschedule? They booked 14 shows; if you don't think you can make it, then don't try; reschedule. Reschedule is the optimum word here. I get the feeling that spilled beer and merchandise proceeds mean more than "Flower Power". The band is really under Warren these days but that does not give Gregg a pass. When there are special guests he cops out and has them sing and do keyboards. At least make an effort or reschedule. The Bros. can sell out any day of the week or day of the month. I am very disappointed and will really evaluate any future concerts I attend. Please get the word out and be advised that there is a good chance you will see The Allman Brothers Band with no Allman Brothers next time they come to town.

The show was great but it was not what I paid for.

  • ABB without Greg Allman????

by HeyUW on 3/25/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

I would like a refund as Greg Allman did not show up for the show. That is a real disappointment as I saved for months to go to NYC.

  • Wasn't the same...

by Anonymous on 3/25/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

Without Gregg Allman. The Allman Brothers Band played two shows during their annual Beacon Theatre run without the lead singer/icon. This show (3/22), although heavily supplemented by great guest players, did not live up to my expectations of the band. I've seen them ~30 times. It is unfortunate that the circumstances were out of his control, but Gregg Allman contracted bronchitis and could not perform. I would find out that the day after my show, the group decided to postpone the last 4 dates of the Beacon run due to his illness. In a statement from the band..."As a result of Mr. Allman's illness, the Allman Brothers Band is unable to perform at the level which they aspire." I wish they had postponed mine. I spent ~$200 on the ticket and at the time viewed it as excessive, but I accepted this, realizing that this would be the last time I would see Gregg at the Beacon. Instead, I did not see him. I am reviewing this b/c if I had to recommend to someone, I would not have spent the money on this concert that I did. Perhaps I would have spent $50 on the ticket.

  • no a, no b, but plenty of b

by jaimoe on 3/24/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

of course, all missed gregory. so, this night (and the 22nd, for that matter) are the stated reason for the continuing of this version of the allman brothers band; free and unrestrained by closing dates and future plans. the hallmark of this band is their liberty to enter the vibe and refusal to yield to sameness. they, and their talented and oh, so loyal friends, took up the slack and melted us fans. so much to tell about...so few words...so, to borrow a phrase, they "hit the note"

Greg did not perform, a REFUND SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN

As much as i can appreciate the great muscianship of the allmans, especially between Derek and Warren, this show should have been postponed. Don't get me wrong , the show was really good but i came to see Gregg one last time with all these guys. I was very disappointed the show wasn't rescheduled. Hopefully if Gregg gets better they will do the rumoured MSG show. But that doesn't help the many people who traveled far and wide to get there on friday night, in some cases spend for a hotel and then find out that Gregg is sick.
