  • If we knew then what we know now - Beacon version

by LastDeadMouse on 6/24/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Special guest: Jimmy Hall but Gregg bails after 4 songs in 2nd set . A decent enough show, but really, should you continue if the namesake of the band is too ill to perform?

  • Warming up!

by LastDeadMouse on 6/24/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Night 2 of the annual run and things are already hot hot hot! Tonight's special guests were Special guests: Randy Brecker, Duane Trucks& AJ Ghent

  • Opening Night!

by LastDeadMouse on 6/24/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Always great to see the ABB on Opening Night of the annual Beacon run. As per custom, no special guests this evening just the hottest blues-rock band in the land tearing it up

  • If we only knew Night 4

by LastDeadMouse on 6/24/16Orpheum Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Not perfect, but best show of the run. Gregg seemed to have a little bit more on the ball tonight but who can blame the guy for being on heavy pain meds for a bad back. The rest of the band sparkled as usual. This show had fewer of the vocal mess-ups and miscues that marred the earlier shows

  • If we only knew - night 3

by LastDeadMouse on 6/24/16Orpheum Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Gregg f's up his vocals again!. If we only knew at the time that Gregg was on heavy meds for a back problem, then perhaps I would have been have been more lenient. However the musicianship was at it's normal stellar level, but it seemed llike they were trying to drag Gregg along - and he could not keep up

  • if we only knew at the time.....

by LastDeadMouse on 6/24/16Orpheum Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Gregg f's up his vocal a lot. If we only knew he was on heavy pain meds at the time for a bad back, then maybe I would have been a bit more lenient with my review. As it was, the musicianship was fine, but it seemed like the other members wre pulling him along and he couldn't keep up

  • End of an Era

  • The end of an era

by namlla on 11/3/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

First off, the Beacon Theatre is majestic. It's a beautiful, well cared for grand lady. It's the perfect size for a show. We were surrounded by fans of the Allman Brothers Band who had come many miles to witness the end of an musical era. These devotees were well versed in the stories and history of this band. The musical expectations were high and the vibe in the air was one of excitement and anticipation. The AB Band delivered and then some. For me, being a fan since my teens in the early 70's, this was the last of many ABB shows I've attended over the years and it was spectacular. Although Gregory was not a dominant feature of the performance, I think the audience still looked to him to usher in the force of the band and to lead them away. The show exceeded anything I could of hoped for. Derek and Warren were just outstanding (as usual) but also very cohesive. Simply epic! Otiel is probably the unsung hero, he just plays his heart out and looks like he's loving it. The only song I didn't hear that night that I would have liked to was Stormy Monday, that being said given the depth of their catalog, I heard all the tunes that I love and more. I am sad that my summer concert rituals will no longer include the Allman Brothers Band, but I was so happy to be a witness to so many great shows including this last one.

  • Allmans Rule!!!!!

Over the years, have seen the brothers 17 times, each with unforgettable moments, but this show might have been the last and the best!! They are without a doubt, one of the greatest live bands in the history of rock!!!!!

  • Epic last show!

Well the road may go on forever, but that seems like it for now...let's just hope Gregg hangs around long enough to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

  • Greatest Show Ever!

by ChipChicken on 10/31/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I would say that this was the best Allman Brothers show I ever attended! Too bad it was their last. If you never saw them, you missed out.

  • Allman Bros rocked as usual

by monomono on 10/30/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

On Tuesday at the Beacon I saw the next to the last show that the ABB would ever do and of course it was great. I was disappointed that Gregg did not come out and speak to the audience at the end. I guess I expected that the band esp Gregg, Butch and Jaimo would come out and say a few words since they are original members. Maybe a group bow. But is was not to be. When they finished they just walked off the stage. I was surprised and let down but still love their music and will continue to listen often and look forward for the reunion show down the road.

  • Allman Brothers at the Beacon, 10/27/2014

by swangdb on 10/30/14Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible show and atmosphere, like a cross between a rock concert and revival meeting. Gregg Allman still has it, as does the rest of the Allman Brothers band. This was their next to last concert and I'm glad I attended.

Absolutely amazing show. The band was firing on all cylinders that night. I have seen the Brothers many times with Allen Woody, Warren and Dickey plus the the lineup after Warren left and the lineup for the past 15 years. With that being said Monday nights show stood out from the rest. The only time I ever saw the band play to this caliber was at a The Warfield in San Francisco back in the 90s. The Bros were towards the end of a 10 day run there and I think Dickey and Warren were pissed at each other but what came out was pure magic. Mondays show was along the same lines minus any of the band members being pissed off. The played at a level that was pure bliss for the audience. I will miss seeing the most dependable band there is.
