Great tunes, sound mix less than optimal. Bring earplugs.
by courageousdeer on 3/25/24Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoWe sat in the seventh row on the far left side of the stage. Really enjoyed the songs, but the bass guitar and kick drum were so over-boosted that they shook my seat. I don't recommend sitting right in front of the PA speakers in this theater. My ears are still ringing three days later, and I wish I had brought ear plugs. As for the content of the show, the musicians were wonderful. I'm not sure why Alan Parsons himself is putting himself through the experience of a concert tour. He played the entire show seated, and it was evident that he has significant mobility issues any time he tries to stand or walk. He played an acoustic guitar for virtually the entire show that did not appear to be mic'd, or if it was it was drowned out by the other instruments (see sound mix problems above). It was evident that the other musicians were doing most of the heavy lifting. Parsons seems to be a very warm, self-effacing kind of guy based on his interactions with the audience. Overall, very enjoyable but overboosted and poorly mixed sound subtracts one star.
