This was my second time. What a fun show! Nathan Lane was out but his understudy was fantastic. I would definately recomend catching him if possible. Krysta Rodriguez (Wednesday) and Wesley Taylor (Lucas Beineke) Are just amazing. Someone needs to build a show around the two of them, they have such great chemistry.
Thought the show was great. Was disappointed that Nathan Lane was not in the show we saw. There were slow parts in the second half that did not seem to make the show flow.
2nd show in a row where the headliner --- one of the two, anyway---was absent. As a naive out of towner I expect the celebrity I fork over $200 to see to show up. Nathan lane would have possibly raised this show to a touch above mediocre. But not this night. For me the quality of the songs wasn't good enough. The singers were adequate with Uncle Fester stealing the part of the show not already stolen away by Nathan Lane. There were a couple surprises, but just enough to help is all feel that we weren't cheated.
Definitely worth bringing kids of all ages to. Bebe Neuwirth was fantastic. Nathan Lane didn't appear last minute which was a huge disappointment but stand in did a great job too. Very funny and entertaining for all ages.
Finally got my son to agree to a broadway play-he loves Nathan Lane! Went to the theatre knowing that Nathan Lane was on vac the following week and much to our surprise, he was not at the performance we attended! Will never get the son to go again!
I thought the play was excellent although Nathan Lane was not playing the leading role when I went. That was a disappointment, hence the 4 stars, but Grandma and Lurch were awesome.
My husband doesn't ask for much but when he wanted to see The Addams Family with Nathan Lane...I broke our fixed income budget and bought tickets for $252.00, bus tickets to New York. My husband has a bad back and endured the long ride to see Nathan Lane. I can't even describe the disappointment and high blood pressure he experienced when Nathan Lane had a stand-in. We watched a show with forced enthusiasm for the other actors but were truly upset. There should be a way for Ticketmaster to inform their users when a main actor is not acting that day. Ticketmaster did send a nice reminder by email for the show a few days earlier which was greatly appreciated. It will be a long time before we use Ticketmaster again...My husband was so upset and so was I. We don't get to do many big events like this on fixed incomes so long trips and expensive shows will now be a no-show. I guess we'll just do local. Thanks anyway.
Entire cast was fabulous job, even N Lane's stand in
