    Poor audience behavior

by Let down on 3/22/22Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

The show was fairly funny. The actors portraying Blanche and Dorothy were great. The other two were okay. My main issue was that someone thought it was acceptable to bring a very young child that talked throughout the entire performance. Not once did an usher intervene. Another issue was someone’s phone rang and they answered the call and proceeds to really at full volume as if they weren’t in a room with 100+ other individuals with a performance going on in front of them. Those two items really created a poor viewing experience.

    Disappointed

by Lyn on 3/22/22Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

We were in the 3 rd row & the dialog was hard to understand especially Blanche. Did not like the coffin part at all. Not worth $56 a ticket. First time ever disappointed in a show there.

Golden but needs a few adjustments

by GDF on 3/21/22Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

The puppeteers were very talented and the puppets were very well constructed. The actions of both were well coordinated and at times, you do forget there is a "human" doing the show. Small drawback was the accent for Sophia, she is from Brooklyn not the Bronx. A little too strong. And she never carried her purse? That's her trademark! Rose was presented far too much as an airhead. She is naive, not a fool, recall that fools read Ann Landers, simpletons read Dear Abby (or vice-versa, now I can't recall.) My biggest complaint was the script. It was an amalgam of many great lines and story lines but it never really was cohesive. The whole bit about Blanche and her "mishap" (trying to avoid a spoiler) was just awful and very sophomoric. The entire show reminded me of Momma Mia, cutting the foot to fit the shoe, where the writers took great moments/lines and melded them into a forced series of stories. I would rather have seen recreation of several shows. Yes, camp it up, but keep to the spirit of the Girls, especially now that they are all watching from above!

    Night filled with laughter

by SharonInTexas on 3/13/22Charline McCombs Empire Theatre - San Antonio

When Dorothy’s character entered the stage, that was it for me. The actors were great and the accent for Blanche was spot on. Hearing pussycat and St Olaf sealed the deal. Great job everyone!

    Funny but lack luster

by C. S. on 2/18/22Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

We struggled to hear many of the lines. The Ma character's actress was screaming the lines and we still couldn't understand. Dorothy was wonderful. Of course, seeing Rose portrayed was bittersweet with the recent death of Betty White (surprised nothing was said). It was a really short performance also. I didn't feel like it was a great show for the price. This is a lovely and intimate theater though and I would return for other performances there.

    Great show! Must see!

by Dave L on 2/13/22Emens Auditorium - Muncie

The show was fantastic. The place we saw it at should have done better advertising as the turnout was low. That’s not against the show. The show had three new “episodes” with the girls and inbetween each episode, a little 80s commercial played. Even The Clapper…you can guess what happened. So much fun! Would definitely go again, with a larger audience.

    Clever

by Al on 2/11/22Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts - Bloomington

The puppeteers were outstanding in duplicating the voices and movements of the four women. The lighting was excellent. I really liked the way they changed scenes (from one side of the stage to the other.) The throwback to ads of the 80's was perfect. Occasionally, I would miss hearing a line. The theatre was not full which always takes away from the magic of a performance. Sometimes the humor did not seem to be received well by the audience. Maybe did not expect to hear some of the old stereo types? The casket scene was a bit much.

    Super Fun!

The puppetry is wonderful! The performers all portray the characters well, and it's just such a fun time!
