Nice venue, well laid out with plenty of amenities for this size crowd. Good variety of bands and Chicago was spot on. Good value for the price as well. I would go again if it were held annually.
In the vip area it was hard to here the pa announcements and the sound or music of the bands (that were not headliners) was not loud enough. I have been to many many pop festivals over the years, the bands sound level was never determined by there status.
We loved Texas Pop festival. Very organized and easy to get to. Enjoyed one of our favorite bands— Chicago!
The only issue I had was the seating. We had VIP tickets. We sat behind the general admission. The meals and snacks were perfect. The drink tickets and available water stations were perfect. (It was definitely hot!). To be fair, though, we were able to place our chairs anywhere. All in, it was a great experience.
This event was so well organized! Great bands - every single one of them! I am so glad I discovered this advertised on FaceBook a couple of weeks before the event. Had enough time to book one of the packages at the Hilton Garden Inn. That was a fantastic deal - included transportation and t-shirts. Food vendors were wonderful and reasonably priced. Thank you to everyone who put this together.
The City of Lewisville did not disappoint as they provided a beautiful venue with plenty of volunteers to make the 50 year Anniversary of the Texas Pop Festival a success. Even tho temps were hot, there were plenty of cooling stations with free water along with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the live music. The entertainment was top notch as well, sound quality better than most outdoor venues. We attended both nights and hope that this might become an annual concert event.
Everything was well run, smooth and on time. VIP was well worth it. Thanks Angus!
What a fantastic time! I am so glad to have been a part of this. The City of Lewisville and all their personnel were friendly and helpful, the VIP area could not have been improved on. The production people did a marvelous job- shout out to Leisa! The music was wonderful, the crowd was fun, and a great time was had by all. Do we have to wait anther 50 years for the next one?
The concert was fantastic! However, we bought VIP tickets, which got us catered dinner both nights and covered seating in chairs. The food was pretty bad! So bad that we almost didn't opted to go out for dinner the second night. The tent that was set up for VIPers was not the best seats, which it should have been. We were placed really far back and to the side. We couldn't see the big screen, couldn't really see the performers well, the speakers were not pointed in our direction so the sound was better in general admission. This was the first outdoor concert I've attended but after this, not sure I want to attend another outdoor event like this.
Really enjoyed this festival. It was well thought out, for the most part, was easy to get to, especially since I live close to the venue, & luckily we had good, but HOT, weather. Parking was easy & the golf carts to shuttle you to the venue was great, although I was able to park close enough that walking to & from my car wasn't an issue at all. I didn't even use the golf carts on Sunday evening after the event was over as there were too many people waiting for them. It was easier & quicker to walk back to my car. I felt safe - tons of police presence was reassuring. I enjoyed the line up of bands & musicians, there were a few I didn't necessarily care for. But the whole reason I even bought tickets was to see Chicago, since I am a HUGE FAN. They were amazing, I might add, & they never disappoint. As far as what can be done differently in the future.....I bought the VIP tickets, but I was upset that the VIP experience did not include any type of VIP seating close to the stage. The VIP covered seating area was FARTHEST AWAY FROM THE STAGE. Very strange. Usually, when you purchase VIP tickets, it includes premium seating, but not at this event. So on Sunday, I was sure to get to the park by 2 pm to claim my spot directly in front of the stage where I wanted to be to see Chicago. Keep in mind, Chicago did not perform until 10 pm, so I was there all day, primarily to hold my spot. The people who came in much later would try to come in & get in front of you.....no way.....all of the people in the area closest to the stage had gotten there early to stake out their spot - no way were we letting a late comer get in front of us. In fact, the people that had been there Saturday night said it "got ugly" between the people who had been there all day & the late comers trying to force their way up front. They said the security officers wouldn't do anything about it. It was better on Sunday because everyone knew to get closer together so the late comers had no place to go. That all could've been handled differently by the organizers & security. Also, the water available at the free cooling station was not cold. I know it was hot, but ice water wouldve been appreciated, especially since we weren't allowed to bring our own coolers in. The food provided to the VIP ticket holders was just kind of "meh." I say next time, don't try to feed us, just give us better access to good seats near the stage. A few more food vendors would've been nice. Best part for me was seeing Chicago in my up front seat!

Loved the music and location and the cool breeze of the lake.
The people were courteous at the venue. It was a well run event. Sound was excellent. The acts were entertaining. Ticket prices were fair. Overall Kudos to everyone involved.
This event was so well organized, we want the city to do many just like with this set up and pricing! VIP tickets were beyond valuable! Love the covered areas which were ventilated.
The rest wasn't worth viewing. Venue and security was awesome. Very organized. Plenty of shirts. Did not like the performance lineup. Would have been better with open mic sessions. New talent is better than old mediocre
Wonderful venue with great music. Felt very safe with so much police presence. This was one of the best events I have ever attended.
Edgar Winter and ZZ Top put on one hell of a show. Loved every minute of it..
Other than the heat during the day it was awesome. When the sun went down the breeze was great. My favorite show was Chicago i loved them.
Well-planned and orchestrated event with a few errors. This was a safe, enjoyable event that was well-thought out and executed. The use of camera/light panels etc., improved Sunday vs. Saturday. Could have filled empty half hours between acts with local talent. An MC or more would have been helpful and provide info on services, changes etc.
Great event! Only change I would have made is switching the VIP eating tent and the VIP covered seating. What a stellar line up both days
