About

Tegan and Sara first established themselves as indie rock royalty in the mid-2000s. The Canadian duo released the critically-acclaimed albums So Jealous (2004) and The Con (2007), before evolving to more of a pop sound on 2013’s Heartthrob, which was produced by Greg Kurstin (Adele, Beck, Foo Fighters) and features the synth-pop hit “Closer.” Since their 1999 debut album Under Feet Like Ours, Tegan and Sara have sold over a million albums worldwide, and have played to sold-out arenas with artists like The Killers and Katy Perry. The twin sisters are also longtime activists, and are dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ women and girls through the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which they established in 2016. Their 2019 memoir High School was a New York Times best-seller, and was adapted into a television series of the same name. They released their 10th studio album Crybaby in 2022.

    An epic 2-hour 25-song set!!!!

by dramarams on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

For Tegan and Sara fans, new and old alike, this was certainly the show for them! It was their opening gig on their new tour promoting Sainthood, the girls' new (and sixth) full-length LP. Not only did they play their entire new record from beginning to end, they played just as many songs off their previous albums basically giving us one of the most thorough and well-rounded Tegan & Sara sets ever. The twin sisters (along with a drummer, bassist/keyboardist, guitarist/keyboardist) played 25 songs over the course of 2-hours with lots of breaks in between showcasing the girls' signature witty banter. Since the new album has not been released yet, this was the first time most of us had heard the new songs (13 of them). It hits stores on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. The new songs sound incredibly, with catchy riffs like from their last album, The Con, and the same level of sophistication in their lyrics that we are treated to on So Jealous and The Con. They performed 7 songs off The Con, 4 songs off So Jealous, and 1 song off If It Was You. This was truly a highlight show for me and I've seen T&S perform three times before. Fantastic!

    Tegan and Sara Rocked!

by Pinkishmel on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

This was my second time viewing Tegan and Sara and I must admit that it was a unforgettable night. They played ALL of their songs from their new album and played some older favorites from their past albums. They are amazing live and sound better than on their albums. The Venue was great and the sound was awesome. Their onstage banter is always awesome as well.

Tegan and Sara!!! Only 5 star Rating? why not 6?

by JapDude on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

The Tegan and Sara show at the Orpheum Theater in LA was Super Friggin Amazing! It was way more than I expected! Tegan and Sara were joking around inbetween every song they perfomed. Interacted with the audience everytime. They stopped playing and let only the audience sing parts of the songs. The whole night was (for the lack of a better word) Amazing!

    too many screaming teens

by wheregoodgo69 on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Great venue, but felt like I was at a high school gym class with all the screaming teens. The new album sounds all right but was mostly annoyed with all the kids in attendance.

T&S + Orpheum = Great concert, sound and views!

by VMEZ on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

The concert was amazing. Sound/acoustics were on point and the view from the Mezzanine(front and center), was just as great. Can't speak for Orchestra level but it seems like they were able to see fine and the Balcony audience seriously brought the energy. The set was a mix of old songs then the whole new album with a break for some old ones again before closing. I'd say that because this is a seated event, either the audience (or T&S) should begin from the start to have everyone stand up! It's a concert and it had it's awkward moments where some were standing and some were not. Views are ten times better too when you stand so a heads up to encourage it with your fellow audience members! Great concert, lucky to be in LA to see them.

    Works in progress

by Tjohns5 on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Playing all 13 songs from their forthcoming LP for the first time, T & S were a bit rough a times (even forgetting lyrics to old chestnuts), but offered a generous and lively show. It started late (advertised to start at 7 and actually scheduled to start at 8), and the Orpheum crew kept us out of the theatre and then out of our seats for a good while. Once in, the venue was comfortable and the sound good. All in all a good night for the band and the audience. I can only imagine a more polished show when they begin their tour after the new year.

    Tegan and Sara -- awesome

by toddmc on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Last night's Tegan and Sara concert at the Orpheum was amazing. Not only did they cover their entire new album (yay!) but they also hit most of their top songs as well. That's all pretty much what you'd expect from a good group. Where Tegan and Sara differ -- and shine -- is that their rapport with the audience. Their banter is worth the price of admission alone! They played through non-stop and maintained their energy all the way, fueled, no doubt, by all the positive energy the audience was sending their way. I'm REALLY tempted to get a ticket for tonight's performance.

    The Quin sisters were amazing!

by jonahlee on 10/26/09Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Once again Tegan and Sara Quin knocked my socks off. Not only did they play a host of old songs, but they played all 13 songs off their new Album Sainthood, and kicked off their new tour with a bang! And of course the highlight is their banter which will make even any non-fan a fan! These girls are just so much fun!

Tegan and Sarah rocked the house!

by VWDriver on 7/9/09Showbox at the Market - Seattle

I took my girlfreind, and my other best freind, and his soon to be wife whom hadn't heard T&S and now she's a fan, too. I've seen shows there before, but this one was spectacular. I'm so happy they stopped to do a show in the northwest prior to heading home.

Very fun set, opening for Death Cab

by pfelser on 7/6/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I have been a fan since So Jealous. But this was my first time seeing them. They definitely lived up to the great things I have heard about their live shows. Their banter definitely engaged the crowd, without seeming formulaic. I wish they could have played longer. But the song-selection was great, as was the performance. I will definitely make a point to see them the next time they are in town, hopefully as a headliner.

by Lyssa on 7/6/09Showbox at the Market - Seattle

This was my first time seeing the twins live and I must say, I was impressed. It was the first show I've been to in a year or so and I really had a blast. I will absolutely be watching to see when they come around next time and will make sure I see them!
