After a lightning storm, the TTB reassembled and started playing about 10:15. They play the entire Episode one if I Am The Moon. Fantastic new music and nailed the performance. After that, they played 4 or 5 hits, including Midnight in Harlem. It brought the house down. They didn’t play it on their trip to Bham last Fall, so I was eager for them to play it here. Great show as always.
My husband and I loved the Tuscaloosa amphitheater - what a fabulous place! Unfortunately, there was lightning in the distance before Tedeschi Trucks came on so everybody had to leave… we waited about 45 mins to see if it would resume and it was a bit of a drive for us already so we headed back towards home. I think they did go on about an hour later. We hate we missed our band but still enjoyed our trip together. Hoping to catch TTB next time they’re close enough. COME TO NASHVILLE, PLEASE! 😁
Beautiful venue on river, great staff, super bands. However, too many local college kids (and former college kids) who must have constant conversations during the show, shouting so that they can be heard by their friends --- and ruining experience for me.
Hated i missed it. Had a emergency come up and was unable to attend.. Im sure they were great though.
The natural lightning shut down the show to close to 2 hrs. Derek Trucks lightning fast guitar was worth the wait. Susan Tedeschi’s vocals were outstanding. The band was tight and professional. Fantastic new album played all the way through. Great night out!
Even though Los Lobos was interrupted by lightning, I was grateful to be able to see Tedeschi Trucks Band. I took my whole family of 5 (kids ages 11-19 and wife). All enjoyed the soulful songs and musicianship. My only complaint is Ticket Master only allowed me to buy 4 tickets online. I had bought my tickets early. So I thought the limit might be lifted closer to the scheduled date. I contacted Ticket Master to see if ticket quantity was still limited. The rep told me she did not see any limit for my event. (I wanted to ask before I tried to purchase because TM has a policy that says my purchased tickets could be canceled if I tried to buy more than the limit.) I tried to buy 1 more ticket online, and I got a message that said I was over my limit. Luckily, we were able to buy another ticket at the venue box office.
Been waiting on this one since Covid postponement. I saw Gabe Dixon do a great set and shortly after Los Lobos started, we had lightning delay. 2 1/2 hr. ⚡️⚡️⚡️Delay! But TTB came on and blew us away! Every band member is stellar! Susan has voice and guitar chops! And despite the muggy Alabama heat, Derek Trucks played scorching hot guitar!!! So happy TTB and fans waited out the storm. Only 👎 is attendance was not great before the storm. Tuscaloosa Amp is a great venue but citizens not filling the seats for renowned bands that routinely fill venues like Red Rocks! Govt. Mule is coming to Druid City Music Hall Sept 22. Tuscaloosa needs to realize what a chance that is! I’ll be early and up front!
For understandable reasons, the show was delayed due to lightning. For working folks like me, a 10 o'clock start time for the headliner would not do it (8:30 was expected). I have learned something from this: do not buy tickets for outdoor events during a work week.
After Tuscaloosa amp delayed the concert from about 7:15 to 10:00 because of lightning concerns, TedTrucks was great. They played they played their butts off. The guitar work was fantastic. Some Allman Brothers style some BB King, with their female guitarist playing BB's part perfectly. The music was cranked up way too loud! We stuffed our ears with tissue paper & it still was not enough. We sat right behind the sound guy's panel. He must be overdue for a hearing exam. This definitely effected the quality of the music & made the experience miserable at times. This is TuscAmps fault.
No rain or lightning could keep me away from this one. So glad they were able to come out and play. Great show in my home town, so glad I was able to make it back for this one. Susan is an amazing guitarist. Derek gets all the love but wow, Susan stole the show!!!
When Los Lobos took the stage (as the second act for the night), there was a terrifically loud feedback that almost caused my wife to throw up. Once that stopped, the audio mix was the worst I've heard in a long time. The drums were mixed WAY to high and the overall mix was a mess. Extremely unpleasant. A lightning storm interrupted Los Lobos's set and we elected not to return, because the sound was punishingly bad. The lightning delay resulted in Los Lobos's set being canceled and since they were the main band we went to see, we were happy we didn't wait around. In sum: one of my worst concert experiences ever. The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is a bad joke. Summer shows there are frequently ruined by heat or lightning storms.
Probably cut at least an hour from the show. That said, TTB is not a live show you want to miss. Absolutely the most talented group of musicians touring currently……
Curfew was 11pm. By 10 things were clear, bands should have done an all star jam. Sad experience
This was my 1st time seeing them, and they did NOT disappoint! It was an incredible show. The sound was amazing, & her voice just blew the roof off the place. Derek's guitar playing is something everyone needs to see & hear live. The Cabot was such a great place to see them play. I really hope they come back soon. Mavis Staples was also great. That woman still got it, after all these years. She had us up on our feet & singing along with her. She really got the crowd going.
Great night!! Talked with Mike, Bobby Tis, Derek and Susan. Got Derek and Susan to autograph my back for tattoos. Received 2 of Susan's picks, a slide from Derek and a setlist!!!
From the moment the band hit the stage, they delivered non-stop mastery of their craft. Susan's vocals are stronger than ever, and who knew she had the guitar chops that she delivered in the second half of the show! We know Derek can play and her solo play was spectacular. Derek's musical lineage with the Allmans is legendary and arguably, he is a savant on the guitar. Mike Madison hit the vocal highs like nobody else and we were so happy that he was on stage tonight. Not to be overlooked, the rhythm section kept the music steady and continuous. The band took all of a thirty minute break in a three hour show with no wasted words to fill the voids between songs.
They were amazing!!!I had a drink from the bar is was very good. The only thing I would change is the couple in front of me that were trying to video the whole show on their phones. That was so distracting .
The Tedeschi Trucks Band is currently the greatest touring band. The scaled-down fireside shows really allows the six musicians to each shine in a small venue with incredible musicianship and a repertoire of songs including their autograph originals and well chosen covers. Derek trucks is hands-down the greatest living guitarist today and I challenge you to find any band with three outstanding singers like TTB. Great show, great crowd, great time.
Absolutely loved it incredible show!! My only complaint is, if you have front row seats, their is no need to stand!!!!!!
