About

The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl is an annual postseason college football game in Jacksonville, Florida. First held on January 1, 1946 at Jacksonville’s Fairfield Stadium, later renamed Gator Bowl Stadium, the event was played on the same field until 1993, when its current home at EverBank Stadium was built on the site and returned in 1995. Although the Gator Bowl began as a showcase for at least one member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the game’s opponents have more recently featured opponents from either the SEC, Big Ten and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Across 80 editions of the Gator Bowl, memorable moments include the Pittsburgh Panthers’ 37-9 upset over the South Carolina Gamecocks in 1980 and Florida State coach Bobby Bowden’s last game in 2010. In 2025, the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl game will be played on December 27 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.

  • Gator Bowl

by Woody on 1/1/24EverBank Stadium - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

It was an excellent trip to the Gator Bowl. Our seats were awesome. All of the workers were very nice. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that FanFest was pretty much nonexistent. Hopefully something will be done to improve this aspect so fans can enjoy some pregame activities presented by the sponsors..

  • Great Experience

by Weezie on 1/5/23TIAA Bank Field - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Overall great experience, but lack of merchandise to purchase. Every stand was sold out of specific sizes early on. Need to take notes from Orlando, as we've attended 2 bowl games there and not once did they have a lack of merchandise.

  • Kinda unorganized

    by D. S. on 1/4/23TIAA Bank Field - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

We decided to do this since we were going to be in Florida on vacation. Bought the tickets before we knew the teams playing and bought tickets to the Touchdown Party before the game. We had to fight through the crowds we thought were in line to get in only to find out they were waiting on the team to go through. Finally got over to the gates and our line was barely moving. Turns out the security in our line was checking through everything individually. My husband had a pack of cigarettes in his pocket, no intention of smoking in the stadium, and he took them and threw them in the trash. We finally get through and up to the party and it was packed, the drink lines were huge, could have used a third drink area. Glad we went...now that's off our list.

  • Easy and no hassle

Getting the tickets no hassle and less expensive. Received updates on parking and interesting places in the area.

  • Step by step

Game was great. Wanted different outcome. Leaving the game escalators were not working so from the 400 level had to walk down steps step by step.

  • Great game!!

The Taxslayor Gator Bowl was a great experience. Parking was easy and relatively inexpensive. The concession stand lines were manageable. Good variety of food and drink. We will definitely be returning.

  • Great time!!

by Angie D on 1/2/23TIAA Bank Field - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Had a wonderful day! We sat in the club seats and the new seats were super comfortable. My only request is I wish there had been more Notre Dame collateral/merchandise to purchase. I only seen a small table of two shirts and they were not attractive.

Great experience from ticket purchase to walking out of the stadium. We had high seats but the video boards kept us close to the game. All staff were good. The venue was great! Next time consider better public notice on availability of parking around the stadium.

  • Good Times

  • Parking Pass FAIL

by Matto on 1/2/23TIAA Bank Field - JacksonvilleRating: 2 out of 5

I was not able to use the parking pass i purchased. It was a QR Code only. The loy i chose....and none of the lots nearby...accepted a QT Code or 3rd Party Parking. I would like a full refind for the FAILED Parking Pass.

  • Not equipped to handle the crowds!

by Kelly C on 1/2/23TIAA Bank Field - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

The venue itself is beautiful…. views of the river and city are gorgeous. However, this stadium is not equipped to deal with large crowds. Bathrooms were small and had limited numbers of stalls. Food and merchandise vendors could not keep up with demand. Entering and exiting the stadium was a nightmare. At least one of the four gates was not opened, and I noticed as we left that it was chained and padlocked. That’s unsafe and surely against fire codes. I loved the game itself, but I don’t think I’ll be returning to this stadium.

Was not aloud to take in my camera. We travel a lot - go to baseball games across the United States. Am ALWAYS permitted to take in this camera. I have scrapbooks filled with pictures from other bowl games - not this one. Had the same clear bag and was told it was to big. We literally had to return to our hotel and take the camera back and empty the clear bag. We had sweat shirts in the clear bag because once the sun would go down it would be cold. The entry clerks were on a "power" kick. They would not even allow us to take the empty eyeglass case in for the sun glasses my husband wore. IT WAS RIDICULOUS! AND IT WAS RUINED FOR US.

Had a great time and some great seats!!! Awesome game!!!!

  • Crowded :/

by Band Fan on 1/2/23TIAA Bank Field - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

The band needs more room at pep rallies! I felt so bad for the USC Colorguard at the gameday pep rally because they got shoved to the back and didn’t have room to spin!

  • Great stadium

by Baby Jo on 1/2/23TIAA Bank Field - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time at the stadium. Our seats were great. Didn’t really use any of the food services there as we had tailgating beforehand. Only complaint I really had was when it came to parking there were some issues staff standing around talking and not watching the traffic, and we had no idea where to go. When we got to the disabled parking, one person was showing one way when we’re so in the other which confused us and then the person that was showing us the correct way. Got a little aggravated and started saying some uncomplimentary things did not appreciate that at all but otherwise the stadium grounds going through security no issues at all.
