Tanya Tucker on Tour
From the beginning of her career, when she was a teenager who sounded like someone way beyond her years, Tanya Tucker has been blessed with an uncommonly expressive voice. Throughout her artistic evolution over the decades, that's never changed. To this day, when you catch the country legend in concert, you're listening to a singer who can tell a story in song like nobody else. And what's country music about, if not telling stories? Whether she's delivering some of her earliest hits, like "Delta Dawn" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)," digging into later material, or changing things up completely with covers of tunes by the likes of the Eagles or Bruce Springsteen, Tucker approaches each performance of every song like it's the most important one of her life — because in that moment, it is.
Tanya Tucker in Concert
Tanya Tucker has blazed a long and singular path in country music, starting in 1972 when the shockingly precocious singer, only 13 years old at the time, debuted with her hit "Delta Dawn" (before Helen Reddy ever recorded it). With a musical maturity that made her sound unquestionably adult, she churned out a string of No. 1 country hits while she was still in her teens, songs like "What's Your Mama's Name" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)." And of course the hits kept coming after she moved on to actual adulthood, with Tucker maintaining a presence in the Country Top 10 all the way into the late '90s. She's always had an outlaw attitude that set her apart from the pack — for instance, she released a rock 'n' roll album in 1979, when such things were unheard of for mainstream country stars. So her appeal has lasted, existing outside the constantly changing trends of country. For instance, when she released 2019's While I'm Livin', her first album in a decade, enough people were paying attention to ensure that the record made it into the Top 10 on the Country Album charts.
It was the best concert I've ever been to a Talking Stick Arizona. She was so humbled after the show. We love Tanya Tucker.
The show was great but the fat guy next to me should bathe more often.
She is a great story teller. Going back in time , so many great memories.
The concert was fantastic. When I saw it was in the ballroom, I was concerned about the sound, etc. but the sound was great and Tanya provided a great show. Best concert for the price that I have been to in a long time.
We have seen Tanya many times over the years. A bit disappointed in this show. First, one of our seats was broken. They gave us a chair in lieu. Second, Miss T. started over 30 minutes past the 10pm stated start time. Last, Miss T. talked a lot. Acoustics prevented us from hearing what she was saying. Singing, we could hear and loved. The rest….meh.
Wonderful third row seats! Tanya still has it! Absolutely loved the entire concert including Keith Carradine!
Tanya brings so much life to the stage and her voice keeps getting better with time!
Tanya Tucker's voice has even more richness and depth as the years have gone on. Her sass, authenticity, musicianship, storytelling, songs and connection to the audience are a gift. Her band and backup singers were wonderful too. I also enjoyed experiencing her in this cozy smaller venue. I am so very glad that I finally saw Tanya Tucker in concert after years of appreciating her music. Thank you Tanya!!
I would highly recommend that everyone see Tanya if she is in your area. Fabulous voice, and a true Icon in Country Music. She is from Willcox, AZ which happens to be my home too, very gracious lady who took the time to reminisce about it with me during her show. A+++++++++++++++++++++++
She just really didn’t get the crowd into her performance
Despite just being released from the hospital for a kidney infection, Tanya put on an amazing show at the Golden Nugget! Presley is just a nice addition to the band and the love she has for Tanya shows on her adoring face!
Obviously Tanya Tucker is Awesome, but she 40 minute late coming on stage, and the room at the Golden Nugget needs to be updated
She did not sing alot of her songs in the short time of the concert
Very short performance. I’ve never been to an hour concert before. It took me longer to get there. Very disappointed
Enjoyed seeing and hearing Tanya but the show was much shorter than expected. Not sure why? If she wasn’t feeling well, I wish she would have told the audience.
She was 30 minutes late (no worries, things happen), but show was over 1 hour later. She's a personable lady, engaging entertainer, but feel a little disappointed in how short the show was. Glad we went to see her (first time), but would not go to see her again. Ticket prices were reasonable, so I don't feel ripped off or anything. The venue was only 5 minutes from home for us, but we would have been really upset if we had had to spend money to travel to see her.
Venue and parking were great. Performance was disappointing, started late and quit early. Sang, at the most, eight songs. Very unhappy for paying $55 per ticket.
Show was to start at 8 pm. Tanya Tucker didn’t come out until 8:30 and only sang for one hour. Show was over at 9:30. We paid for an 1 1/2 show.
1/2 late starting. Only played for 1 hour and lots of talking between songs. What little she sang was great, but definitely not worth the money to seeing her in concert. Very disappointed.
Wow. 58 minute "concert" (she was exactly 30 minutes late). Another fan stated she would come out 30 minutes late and apologize. She did that. Voice is shot. Speaking of shots, she openly tried her own tequila which was the real reason she was there - to pich her tequila, an upcoming movie, and an upcoming documentary. It was a marketing tour where she sang 10-12 songs. Very disappointed.
