Tanya Tucker on Tour
From the beginning of her career, when she was a teenager who sounded like someone way beyond her years, Tanya Tucker has been blessed with an uncommonly expressive voice. Throughout her artistic evolution over the decades, that's never changed. To this day, when you catch the country legend in concert, you're listening to a singer who can tell a story in song like nobody else. And what's country music about, if not telling stories? Whether she's delivering some of her earliest hits, like "Delta Dawn" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)," digging into later material, or changing things up completely with covers of tunes by the likes of the Eagles or Bruce Springsteen, Tucker approaches each performance of every song like it's the most important one of her life — because in that moment, it is.
Tanya Tucker in Concert
Tanya Tucker has blazed a long and singular path in country music, starting in 1972 when the shockingly precocious singer, only 13 years old at the time, debuted with her hit "Delta Dawn" (before Helen Reddy ever recorded it). With a musical maturity that made her sound unquestionably adult, she churned out a string of No. 1 country hits while she was still in her teens, songs like "What's Your Mama's Name" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)." And of course the hits kept coming after she moved on to actual adulthood, with Tucker maintaining a presence in the Country Top 10 all the way into the late '90s. She's always had an outlaw attitude that set her apart from the pack — for instance, she released a rock 'n' roll album in 1979, when such things were unheard of for mainstream country stars. So her appeal has lasted, existing outside the constantly changing trends of country. For instance, when she released 2019's While I'm Livin', her first album in a decade, enough people were paying attention to ensure that the record made it into the Top 10 on the Country Album charts.
Her voice and performance were fantastic. Only complaints have already been stated, she started 30 minutes late and only played for an hour.
While Tanya did sing and put on a decent show, she came out 1/2 hour late, talked about the upcoming release of her documentary and tequila company, both of which is not what I came for. I came for a performance. She only sang 7 or 8 songs and was on stage for a total of an hour. Was a little disappointed, but glad to have heard her before she retires.
Tanya tucker is awesome I would go and see her again and again
Tanya put on a great show but she was 1/2 hour late to start the show, only played a hour and then was no encore. First concert I’ve ever been to that there wasn’t a encore. I still love her but was a little disappointed.
Ive seen Tanya before and she usually puts on an incredible show. She didnt seem herself and performed less than an hour. Also, the crowd at the Hollywood Casino in WV was incredibly rude and kept awkwardly walking up to the stage and interrupting with signs or shouting.
Half an hour late starting and only sang for an hour and wasn't that good.she needs to retire.
Tanya's voice is still as amazing as ever. It was a great show.
Tanya Tucker has still got ‘IT’ She was fabulous The Club Regent Event center is very nice, although the seats are a little tight, squishy feeling. It was an extremely hot, humid day and that could be felt in the venue. Some better air flow/ circulation would definitely be beneficial!
her show was very good but not very long.was told last time she was there her show was much longer.having opening act which took up a hour of time was a waste of tanya time.when i bought tickets there was no mention of opening act.
She united herself with the crowd ,Down to earth person ,Loved the show
Tanya Tucker is always the absolute best and the staff was very friendly and helpful
Tanya Tucker still has it after all of these years! Harrah's is my favorite place to enjoy a concert. It is intimate, the sound is great and the people are awesome. As always, it was wonderful!
She was excellent floored it with Bring The Flowers
Tonia is still just as entertaining as ever! Loved her Energy and Superb stage presence!
Tanya Tucker was great. I really enjoy her music. She did a great job!!
She sang all my favorites and more. I was in nosebleed seats, though and it was hard to hear some of her stories, which I would have loved to. Her speaking voice doesn't carry all that well. Also, RuPaul was on the billing, but nowhere in sight. Not that I really cared, but they should change the billing. And she should introduce her band members and where they're from.
She did Not Disappoint! Amazing show. My sister and I had a great time. Brought us tears the way she ended with Delta Dawn - so so good 😊
50 years of entertaining and Ms. Tucker did not disappoint! Enjoyed every minute.
I loved seeing Tanya. Her voice is so strong and she still has it. Very entertaining. I would go again. I looked to see where all she was playing so I could go again. (Nothing close to me). I hope Harrahs has her back soon. The crowd went crazy, they just loved her. Please come back to Harrahs Cherokee SOON!!
I've loved her voice and her songs since 1973 and this was the first time I was able to see her live, I was not disappointed! Her voice was as good as it's ever been, she gave her all to the preformance and the crowd was fired up. Great time!
