It was like a dream.\ The dream is always the same. But this time was different.

Great encore! Main concert way too loud!

by Russ on 9/22/23The Magnolia - El Cajon

I went into this concert with tremendous expectations. I have been a fan of TD since the mid 70's - so a very long time. I have great enthusiasm for the current group lineup. To a great extent they exemplify the founding vision of the group and have shown that in recent works. That aside, I found this concert experience to have been somewhat difficult. The audio production was not geared towards the venue. Overall sound was way too loud for such a small theater. I would have been very disappointed if the concert ended with the main production. The encore saved it for me! I went in hoping they would play a "session"and was pleasantly awarded that in their encore. I am glad that I attended for that very reason.

    Musical magnificience!

by MC Cyclone on 9/22/23Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

It was really great to see Tangerine Dream in concert. I have been a fan for decades. I'm sure it was amazing in the days of Edgar Froese and Robert Baumann. However, the current band members are so talented, you would almost think you are listenening to the original band. This concert was well worth the money and one of the better concerts I've attended. I look forward to next time!

    Good music and light show

by Cathy on 9/21/23The Magnolia - El Cajon

It was very good both the music and light show only thing is that the equipment and group proforning should have been away from the screen that was playing back ground they were in the way of it or they should have had a much larger screen to display the back ground would have gotten a better effect for the crowd

    Great show

by Mark on 9/21/23The Magnolia - El Cajon

Tangerine Dream was excellent, although there were no original members, the current band brought forward the essence of the original band, which made for an enjoyable night of synth/electronic music. I especially liked the 2nd set when they brought in a musician from San Diego, more of a bass heavy sound.

    Audio Fidelity ruined

by Sparky on 9/21/23The Magnolia - El Cajon

Tangerine Dream are certainly a band of High Fidelity recordings and with pure electronic music production, their live show audio output is too. But this performance was ruined for me by way way way too much bass, and its resonance. Granted I was sat near the back, but the Magnolia is a room designed for acoustic performance and I would not have expected bass resonance in such a room. Either way, I was very disappointed with what I heard. I love Hi Fi bass as much as the next HiFi lover. But this was painful. Have a grown up produce the mix next time !

    TD in El-ka-bong

by KLEMPT on 9/21/23The Magnolia - El Cajon

TD sounded spot on at The Magnolia in El Cajon on 9-19-23. I did not care for the seats with their long extended cup holders. TD had a great light show, and a powerful clear sound, but I thought the violin got to be a little mondain after awhile. They said they were to play around 2 hours, but I left after about 70 minutes, after I got the jist of it all, and it was a Monday night. Overall good experience !!

    Horrible venue

    by Teresa on 9/20/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

Venue was so small. We were cramped in with no legroom, folding chairs. Volume was excruciatingly over the top. We left 20 minutes into the show. Too bad as we drove about 5 hours and my husband is a great fan of Tangerine Dream. Very disappointed.

    Brilliant Performances!!

by Bobby Neal on 9/15/23Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

Absolutely two of the greatest events of my lifetime!! Ashville, NC & Atlanta, Ga. TANGERINE DREAM were positively Brilliant!! By seeing them two nights in a row, I got to see '2' different sets! Got to meet the band members, & they were all three super nice, friendly, & talkative! Both venues were nice also. We had front row seats in Ashville, & seats close to the front in Atlanta. We had a blast both nights! Again... two of the greatest concert events of my entire lifetime!! And, I've seen hundreds of bands, & many different concerts!! TANGERINE DREAM are at the top of my list!! W0W!! I'm still smoldering over these two excellent shows!! GREAT!! Nothing short of GREAT!!

    Nothing Short of Amazing

by HFard on 7/17/12Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

The concert was wonderful. Many bands from the past either have disappeared or have changed their style entirely as the band member change. Tangerine Dream on the other hand, despite so many turnover over 45 years still provides the same wonderful music it was doing since its beginning, only more mature and advance. Every band member was the master of his/her domain. It was like being in a spaceship powered by tremendous energy and enthusiasm of Iris Camaa (percussion), maneuvering trough the stars by playing of other band members. The harmony of light and visual effects with the music was nothing less than phenomena. Also, the Uptown Theater in Napa was very good with caring staff and services.

    Tangerine Dream still impressing

by alann on 7/16/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

It's been some 25 years since I first saw Tangerine Dream and although Froese is the only original member in this latest incarnation, they still graced us with a wonderful performance. I especially enjoyed Hoshiko Yamane violin work...

Three hours of the best music made my Tangerine Dream. Rating woud have been 4 stars if the light show had not had painfully bllnding spotlights directed at the audience.

    Most Eclectic TD Concert Yet

by pletzerdude on 7/15/12Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

I travelled from Denver to Napa, CA to see my favorite band of all time play a concert in their Electric Mandarin Tour. A small (lack of promotion?), but obviously TD savvy crowd got the full TD treatment, in a small (850 capacity), but excellent auditorium. They band played a selection that ranged all over the storied history of TD, from an old school Richocet rift, up to Finnegan's wake, even with a piece off of Tyger (and yes, it burned bright). Edgar must have been nostalgic for the Underwater Sunlight days, because they played 3 pieces from that album, including the perennial crowd pleaser Dolphin Dance. I was glad to see Hoshiko get a larger part in the concert, including an encore piece that featured her violin work. And in the retrieve my jaw from the floor final encore, they presented the TD version of the Doors Crystal Ship! (vocals by Thorsten). I don't know if this will be my last TD concert ever, but it was certainly the most memorable.

    Tangerine Dream Still Rocks!

by citygal1 on 7/15/12Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

We drove almost 2 hours to see them. My husband has wanted to see them for years. We were not disappointed. Their music is amazing and we hope to see them again.
